I don’t want to go back and count how many times I’ve heard “Beast Mode” in the first two rounds, but it’s too many. The announcers keep saying it, Jett has said it, posters here have said it…
This opportunity to watch a legend vs. a phenom is a blessing from the moto gods. There may be a moto this year where Eli Tomac picks himself up off the ground, catches and passes Jett Lawrence around the outside, destroys the berm so completely that no one else can use it that day, and then builds a 10-second gap to secure a 2-1 overall. There may not be.
Beast Mode is not just going fast, passing the 15th to 5th place guys, or putting pressure on the leader. It is a sacred, near mythical thing. It does not finish 2nd. It’s also shy, and it prefers to surprise. You can only know for certain that you’ve seen it once it’s over. We remember and talk about those times because they are rare.
Don’t cheapen Beast Mode by calling for it every round. It will come when the time is right.
Hopefully Eli will go into Beast Mode during the next race. That’s when he like goes really, really fast and destroys everyone. “Beast Mode”, I like to say.
Eli was on rails that second moto and knew it, you can see him shaking his head after he went down lol.
Beast mode, was everyone's lap times dropping as the race wore on, and Eli kept his fairly consistent, even with a deteriorating track.
Haven't fully seen it yet, one can hope though.
So…you’re saying your comfortability with the phrase is low?

LoL at all the downvotes. OP is right. I guess Beastmode is just Eli's nicknane at this point . But seeing actual beastmode from Eli as we know it, yesterday wasn't it. Eli getting into 2nd and taking an entire moto to pass Aaron Plessinger isnt beastmode.
They just don’t like me because I’m a douchebag all the time.
Just cause et3 is on track, does notttt mean beast mode... haven't seen beast mode since 2022.. Jett sayn he beat beast mode after the 1st round was laughable...
lol well said!
Call it what you want but giving 110% charging through the pack, in the heat, with no chance of winning was hero. The broadcast sure loved it, and if it wasn't for the second mistake from pushing so hard, he was going for legend status. These guys know when the cameras are following them around and he put on a great show
The term itself is corny and played out. Eli is cool and has next level speed that he has uncorked. Quit with the “was that beast mode”.
Very well put. They've started saying 'beastmode' everytime Eli has a good ride. Further, Beastmode is not a description of every time Eli wins either. It's for the times he absolutely destroys everyone, like Hangtown 2015, or even more precisely when he suddenly starts dropping lap times that are 3 or more seconds a lap faster than everyone and comes from 15th to first. That's beastmode. And to correct James, you don't call him 'Beastmode' like a nickname. Beastmode is a state, as in Eli just went Beastmode.
Big foot!!!
The beast was waking up in Moto 2. But we haven't seen it yet.
His riding and effort yesterday was incredible. I dont think the crash was a factor in him not winning yesterday though. He was at least 15sec back from JCoop when he went down. His first moto ride was what impressed me. If he still doesn't have his prime speed, he's pretty damn close to it. Have we ever seen a faster almost 33yr old rider? How good was Cairoli at 33?
This
But when he passed him he put 10 seconds on him very quickly, like in a lap, that's pretty beastly if you ask me.
Plessinger was done. Eli rode well, but that wasn’t vintage “beast mode”.
Pit Row
That wasn't Eli going faster, that was AP going 6-7 seconds slower a lap all of the sudden. Here their lap times.
Beast Mode is one of the gayest monikers ever only second to Danger Boy. I’m surprised Eli hasn’t told people to stop using it.
So make a post about being annoyed about hearing beast mode and just talk about it more? Makes sense.
it seems like ever since he came back from his achillies injury any time he rides well they call it "beast mode". NO, there's a difference between Eli riding well and winning and when he actually goes "beast mode" and is just on another level. He's been REALLY fast countless times, but there are only a handful of times where he went "beast mode", like 20ish occasions where we really saw beast mode. I noticed this too and its also bothered me. Also, anyone else get tired of how the ONLY questions they ask him lately have to do with retirement or his age, I even feel like we don't need to ask about his leg injury after he said it wasn't an issue, but still this is all people were asking him about.
This thread good be wrapped into one of the broadcast complaints threads. The Beast Mode thing is a result of the nauseating shtick of using contrived nicknames for riders all the time. It's bollocks. Leigh Diffey sounds like he's actually inappropriately excited when he's gushing on about 'The Cowboy' or 'DangerBoy'.
Enthusiastic amateurs masquerading as media while simultaneously rimming riders = bad questions.
The bar has definitely been lowered too much, any time he makes a pass it’s “beast mode”
But to me Beat mode is when he suddenly drops 4 seconds a lap and looks like he is playing a game on easy mode..
Hoping to see an appearance from Elito Mac @ Thunder Valley
OP is right. 100%.
Lord please let us see a real Beast Mode ride this year 🙏
Even Weege who I usually really like has been doing this lately, like for the love of god ask some good questions and if you don't have any then don't ask anything at all...
Yep, no Beastmode seen this year or even recently....
While it's reserved for special Tomac rides, the closest thing we've seen to it recently was actually by Sexton last year at Hangtown.
Trust me, you'll know Beast Mode when you see it.
