Would imagine Husky already has a big presence in our sport, while GasGas does not and they want to push it more as Husky can take the hit not having a team.
Hopefully the 2026 Austrian bikes racing budget is funded. It sounds like within 12 months, Bajaj offically takes ownership, and the current Bajaj CEO does not consider racing a good return on investment. I'm worried that 2027 might be very bleak for professional racing of these brands (KTM/Hus/Gas).
Have had a ton of oranges ones and a few white ones. The white ones were harder to sell and the buyers were less informed for whatever reason. I feel like the model designations on the huskys get people confused whereas the KTM’s XC and SX is pretty self explanatory. Have had guys come look at my TC’s or FC’s not realizing they were MX bikes. I go through a lot of bikes and resale is important to me so that’s why I typically stick with the orange ones. GG? Forget it, those sit on marketplace for months and have crap components(brakes/clutch/silver wheels)
They should build a 350cc two stroke with a carb in all three colors, low first gear and high ratio 5th gears and let it sell itself. If you need to ask why just ask yourself the question, why are boobs good?

We've raced all 3 flavors of Austrian bikes in MX over the last few years, primarily 125s and 250s, with my FC350 in the mix a bit. IMHO they are all pretty much all the same. Each needed tweaked to meet our needs and all were reliable and very competitive. Our latest 24.5 GG MC250F FE is an excellent bike - all we've done to that is 6500 fork internals, and it is capable of winning every single time (if the rider is!). Team Green was spot-on in his analysis: KTM for high-end MX race bike and GG for "entry level" in MX. Probably what they should have done from day 1.
Husky was off road before KTM was moto.
Also GasGas still needs to be developed as a brand, so it makes sense to keep it on the main stage.
I’ve had 3 new pumpkins since 21 I don’t even look at the white or red ones. For some reason i think of husky’s as the old man brand with some shiny parts that don’t make it any faster, and I think of gas gas as a cheaper/lamer hobby rider version. Ik all 3 can be made the same but there’s just something about the pumpkins… I’m sure nostalgia plays a role.
I still think they should make Gas Gas the fun/low cost brand. Have some low end models that rival the ttr and such. They could sell 250/450 still, but use some of their older tech to make them cheaper.
Husky being off road makes sense to me. Having 3 brands that all essentially sold the same bike did not make sense to me.
Seems like a branding thing. Husky was primaril an offroad brand before KTM bought them.
Though Burleson is the elite of off road I did have the honor of holding his bike up at the start of his moto at the 1986 Florida AMA Winter Series. I think it was a vet class.
It may be based on current inventories, parts stocks and sell plans going forward. If you had say 70% more offroad Husky's to sell versus MX Husky's, I'd be in the offroad market to move those stored up stockpiles. GG and Husky may be phased out after inventories are depleted. Who knows.
