Towards the end of another Pala thread, there was a quick mention of Valentin Guillod. I've never heard of him, but think it's awesome that he is here in the states chasing his dream. That got me wondering, just how many non USA riders are entering this years nationals? Figured I could look it up, but don't know all the new names so wouldn't know if they are from here or elsewhere. Moto is back! GonaBeFun !!!

18 in the 450 class.
7 in the 250 class.
Edit: 8 in the 250 class if you want to include Alexander Fedortsov. He's an American citizen, but I believe he was born in Russia.
Wow! Thats almost half the class in 450.
Really cool to see. It’s so weird when some people fuss about it.
The pinnacle of MX
So many countries top racers would like to compete. A relatively small number achieve their dream to race in the AMA MX series.

I still remember Jacky Vimond showing up at the Golden State Nationals when I was a very young kid, and it was the coolest thing ever to me to see a GP contender at my local track.
And we're missing Ferrandis and Roczen.
Along the same thoughts. Pit Beirer came to Carlsbad one Saturday. Was fun to see his different riding style. Think he won the pro races that day.
A bit of 'gentle' scrubbing from Valentin, from a fair few years ago :
He's been around for a while.
Other way around. Born in the US, grew up in Russia.
DC said he was born in Russia.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Huh, weird. Where’d he say that? Blair did a little bio of him on his patreon and said he was born here. It’s a friggin mystery.
Had to search it.

"the Muc-Off/FXR/ClubMX team has added SMX Next - Supercross Champion Alexander Fedortsov, who was born in Russia but is an American citizen."
He raced in Canada last year, and they said he was Russian.
Either way, I didn't include him in the list.
God Bless them all. I picked a lot of them on my FL team. Hope they all have a safe day and get some points.
If you want to add the women, I know the following two are foreigners:
Charli Cannon (WMX) Australia
Mathilde Martinez (WMX) France
Since I made a quick mention of Valentin Guillod, looking at qualifying, he's from Switzerland, riding for Rock River Yamaha, and he qualified 16th 450. Awesome! I'm going to Hangtown next week. I think I'll look him up and welcome him to the USA.
Pit Row
Guillod had such awesome style on the Yamaha 250 when he first hit the scene. Went to the USGP in 2015 not really knowing any 250 riders, and he and Gajser stood out as the most fun to watch to me.
1 for UK and one for England?
Valentin has still some pain from his collarbone that he broke two weeks ago. But he could be top 5 material once he feels good and could be a good rider to sign to race 250 SX. He has some European supercross under his belt.
If you go to races, don't be shy and go say hello. He's a great guy to meet as fan.
Stav is Ugandan.....he was born in Kampala, Uganda and he lives in Kampala when he is not racing in the US.
They’re missing a few in there, but we shouldn’t expect the people running this race to know that 🙄
Shoutout to Aussie off-roader Mason Semmens for 17th overall in the 450s. He has to be happy with that!
Isn't one of his parents Israeli? Israelian citizenship is kinda weird, if I remember correctly. I think any ethnic Jew can become an Israeli citizen pretty easily. Anyways, he has Israel listed as his home country this year. But like the Puerto Rican des Nations loophole, I'd agree that your not really from there if you didn't live there for an extended period of time. From what I understand of Fedortsov, he was born in America, but spend his early childhood growing up in Russia.
Weird.
UK = England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland so both those guys are from the UK.
Tristan Purdon is also from the UK... don't know why he didn't make the list...
Man, John Rocker would not like this thread.
