I believe their fuzzy math includes our economy growing out of the deficit. I really don't see how it can grow that amount without addressing the immigration issues. The country needs more workers.
The last real deficit hawks left in the 90's. Any more it's only the out of power party that makes the phony claim that they care.
That is very accurate in normal times, but here we uniquely have the in-power party that is still selling it and pushing it. We're making a lot of cuts right now that could end up being painful, so it's probably not going to be well received by the in-power party if the results aren't there.

Trump mentioned some immigration gold card that will raise a bunch of money they claim. I really didn't understand it, but at least I know it exists and will be watching for further talk of it.

I put question marks because i do not know. Hoping others who are familiar with the program can chime in rather then the knee jerk reactions we usually get.

Yes this has been a thing, trump just made it more expensive and will probably nix the aspects that made it beneficial to everyday people.
The word was that Florida Tracks and Trails got built through the EB-5 program. Is that place closed? Last I saw it was kind of a shit show with sxs's but that's what you get when the owners don't really care and just want it as a pass to get into the country. It did look cool though.

Two problems with this:
1. They don't hoard cash so there isn't much of anything to tax
2. Even if you took every penny from every billionaire in the country you wouldn't even fund the federal government for a year.
But by all means, keep believing this "tax the rich" bullshit perpetuated by people who have no idea how the monetary and tax system actually work.
Even if they did hoard cash it would not be taxed. We don't tax wealth at the federal level only income. Unless the wealth is transferred as in inheritance. Even then it essentially becomes sombody's income.
But to your point, taxing the rich, even more that they already do, will not stop the inevitable. Which is that debt service will eventually swallow the entire annual budget. Including SS and Medicare. It has already surpassed defense spending.
There is nobody in politics today that has the balls to go after the real culprits:entitlements.

They're saying that Ukraine had soviet era Nukes pointed at the US and gave them up and gave nuclear materials to the US in exchange for security assurances back in the 90s. If trump wants to bill Ukraine those materials can be levied against the money owed.

I respect Massie. He has principles and he sticks to them. He’s consistent. Sure I disagree with him on a lot, but that’s okay. This budget is not going to be good for most Americans that’s for sure.
