That is awesome … i was wondering after watching the youtube videos of them moving there… very cool!
Are they living in an RV, one of the cabins or do they have full size houses on the property too?

I think they bought Mark Fineis old house.
Maybe he’ll stick around with Club longer than he stuck around with Moto40, still disappointed that there was all the hype around him taking over that track and turning it into a premier facility just for it to shut down altogether a year later… Yes, I know it was him along with a few other investors that ran the place, but I’m still bitter, lol.
Anyways, welcome back to the Carolinas, Chad.
Yeah, I live about 20 minutes from what used to be Moto40. That was pretty convenient.
Have to love what club is doing. They have such a different vibe there which makes it the best. You have legends like reed there then you have the local beginner class rider all just hanging out riding moto and there’s no cool guy vibe.
Story I was told - they had trouble finding insurance for the facility, and the owners (4) were all advised they would be sponges for liability lawsuits. No amount of "Ride at your own risk" wavers can protect against litagation.
My thoughts exactly. They sure seem to be putting the pieces together to keep building a successful program over there
Daniel Blair must be smiling ear to ear with how things have been shaping up for Club MX as of late.
I was talking to Chad about 1.5 years ago at Monster Mountain at the big mini bike event thingy (the name escapes me but swap was there) and just watching from the fence we struck a conversation. I asked about the Carolina move and he told me it was the cold weather he had to get away from. There were some snow day videos I remember from when they were there. He said he wasn't built for that cold shit.
I'm sure there are other more important reasons as now he is back in the Carolina's again. Granted its South Carolina but its damn close to North Carolina. Hope it all works out for them this time.
Someone died out there toward the end—I don’t think a lot of people knew that. They were using city water, which cost a fortune. Then Chad turned it into his own private training facility and pretty much fucked everyone over.
Do tell
I do remember they tried to make it a "private" facility for a lot of East Coast pro's (some JGR folks, and up and coming youth talent) towards the end, but I dont think they could cover expenses that way - full time staff, equiptment, and the like.
The you tube video about their move already has 90k views not even counting all the short form clip farming that will come of just that video. They are giving Club exposure to the families that will want to mirror what they see the Reeds doing with their kids. On Club's side, that alone is a worth while partnership.
He and Blair are going to butt heads stamp it.
I'm picturing Chad butting heads with the coaches as well.
I give it a year at most.
Pit Row
Back on Yamaha and still looks great.
How does a notoriously fussy guy like Chad cope with riding SX on a non factory bike I wonder. Is he chasing suspension settings to get the bike how he wants it. Or does all that go away in retirement and not chasing laptimes and speed.
I’d imagine riding sx he would be really picky with how he has the bike set up.
Must be kinda hard to go from riding factory machines to ‘stock’ bikes. Like riding a clapped out old bike, then you ride your friends brand new one. It’s always hard to get back on yours.
He's out there chasing his kid, not trying to keep up with prime RC & Bubba for million dollar bonuses, he doesn't need a perfect bike.
Yeah not sure he’s going to have any issues there unless someone disrespects his family or something like that. I don’t see him needing any guidance from anyone there and don’t see anyone trying to give it to him. I’d think if anything if he sticks around longer he may invest in the facility if his family gels with it.
It's Chad Reed, I can guarantee he was spinning clickers and trying to make that bike better.
I didn't say his bike wasn't set up, I said he isn't chasing the perfect setting anymore because he doesn't need to.
Think 22 will be up in Ohio tomorrow, congrats on the induction into the AMA Hall Of Fame.
If anyone is interested in the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, you can watch it live at 5pm Eastern.
