Need new gear. Hot & humid for the next 8 months.
Curious what everyone is using that has good ventilation and holds up well?
What would you steer clear of?
In my day, we cut holes with scissors. It was the cool thing to do, figuratively and literally.
I have some Troy Lee GP Air gear that pretty happy with.
FXR has been amazing for me
McGrath in that cut up cotton fox jersey outdoors. Iconic

I like the fly kinetic mesh stuff a lot, it flows a lot of air and has been pretty durable for offroad racing so far. I've tried msr, thor, and tld vented gear as well. TLD had good ventilation, they lasted a whole season but did start wearing through in the knee area. the msr didn't seem as vented or didn't feel like it but held up fine. thor was light weight and flowed fairly well, i did't like the way the pants fit so i only wore them for a few races so i can't speak to the durability there.
TLD GP Air
I’m a Hugh fan of the Klim XC Lite. Very high quality and good pricing.
Renen
I've tried almost every brands most vented option over the last 5 years or so, all were good durability wise but the Fly Kinetic Mesh has the best ventilation, especially the pants.
Have to agree , their vented stuff is awesome
Second the fly stuff for durability and coolness.
Fly kinetic mesh
TLD GP Air is best value for money, durability, and hot weather riding. FXR is close behind. That's been my experience between Fox, Fly, FXR, TLD, Fasthouse
I’ve been wearing a previous generation of vented Thor for quite awhile. I’m ptetty happy with it. It really allows airflow and has survived a couple get-offs. The Moose Sahara looks good to me right now.
O'Neal Hardwear Air.
I do like Klim XC lites too, but the fabric on the calves is really thin and at the same time not so stretchy
Why not just drill holes in your gear?
Is expensive gear worth it these days or does it all rip after a single tip over?
I had ghos experiemce with $150 alpinestars pants. Part of the reason Im looking to hear what everybody else is doing.
Pit Row
Moose Sahara, Fly vented Kinetic and Troy Lee GP are are good for me here in hot as hell Houston Texas. The O’Neal Element is supposed to be vented but it’s hot as hell, but holds up better than most.
Thor used to have some kick ass vented gear.
Fasthouse air cooled. Not sure if it is the most vented, but can tell you it is some of the most durable gear on the planet.
Oneal is a quality product.
I feel as I am so far removed from actually riding, but moose gear used to be the best for vented.
@bvm111 @TbonesPop can either of you comment on the sizing for the GP Air stuff? Im eying it up, but I’ve never ordered TLD stuff before. I’m a medium in AStars but large in Fox and Renen… any idea how it compares to those?
For vented AND durability? Klim Mohave...
