Those 327s ran gooood
Old tech....
The Mach 5 had it in the 70's. Just push button A
Sold my 1968 RS/SS 350 5 years ago to a collector in France. I owned that car for 28 years. Bought it from someone who was driving it daily to work and back and my bro and I restored it. That baby was a head turner.
Congrats to Deegs on the championship and the car. I would have gone with a CT5 Blackwing myself. Prefer a manual, performance be damned.

Dude. I don't know you from Adam, but this is straight crazy talk. I don't want to outright call you a liar, but if you indeed have "countless hours" on the track in those two specific cars....no way in hell those words would come out of your mouth. The Porsche is a unicorn on the track. Period.
As for a DAILY, I would not want to live with it over the Huracan.
I had a 66 Vette conv with the 427, 4 sp. Those old Vettes are cool, but they ride horrible and handling is not the best. Mine didn't have posi and if you weren't careful, it'd point you straight to the ditch if you hit the gas too much and got the back loose. I'll take the C7 ZO6 over old school any day.
I stand by what I said, yes the GT3-RS is a better track car if you are looking to get every tenth of a second out of your lap-times. But as a track instructor I can guarantee you most people cant drive the Porsche good enough to extract it. But if you are looking for fun on the track, to me, the EVO wins out. The perma-grin exhaust tune of the V-10 at 9000rpm beats the flat six at 9000K all day, the raw feel of working the car compared to the scapple like preciseness of the P-car wins out too as the Porsche almost feels too good.
Yes, I am faster in the Porsche, but I almost always pick the EVO for smiles per miles.
Almost sounds like a 2-stroke vs 4-stroke comparison.
Alright, I am on board now man. I took your first post as a Lambo fan boy kind of thing and now I know I was obviously wrong. I've driven both, and while I do prefer the Porsche, I can't argue with any of your points. BUT, I'll still take a Ferrari V12, sound and character, over the Lambo 10. But now we're in the weeds....
What time does Deegan race?
ETA: I lied. Oops. I haven't driven an Evo, but I've driven a Performanté, so more or less apples to apples.
Narrow fronts. Has a front diff still. Understeer city. I've seen one of those trofeos with the roof intake run some killer lap times tho.
What tracks do you run at?
What retirement home do you reside out of?
Ha Ha, it's all about personal preference for the fun factor when it comes to sound and feel. But for the ultimate track car I'll take the ole' GT2 RS. It's a little harder to drive and less refined than the GT3 RS but for guys who can get after it on track the GT2 RS takes the cake.
Nice car but Corvette or Viper would have been way cooler.
When's the McLaren coming? After the outdoors?
Good on him. He’s at the top of his game and enjoying the rewards. I’m sure his parents are not stupid with his money.
He be pimpin’
Yeah they are both cars I can't afford the maintenance on...
Pit Row
Is that you?
Nah. I'm in a 1e mero
Mostly these 4:
Mosport (Canadian Tire Motorsport Park)
TMP (Toronto Motorsport park)
Calibogie
Grand Bend Motorsport Park.
Edit ; My top 3 track cars in no particular order
Porsche GT3-RS
Lamborghini Huracan EVO (AWD)
Maclaren 600LT
I loved the 570s, so I can only imagine the 600LT. I wasn't super impressed with the standard OG Huracan, but I didn't get to push that one. I'm sure the Evo is a beast, more or less a softer Performanté.
For a legitimate (supercar-ish) daily, out of everything I've driven, I'd take an FF.
Sorry for sidetracking the thread, it's too easy when you find an ACTUAL car guy who knows what the eff he's talking about lol
The 600LT is like a 750 that's easier to handle, and a little less dangerous but absolutely rewarding. The FF is on my list to drive but have not yet. Ummmmm Performante, the perfect do it all Lambo!
Yes, sorry for hijacking the thread but Racecar.....lol
Knowing a bit about supercars, Hayden bought a 610-4 AWD Huracan. A little safer and more predictable in areas compared to the 2wd model. Can be had for sub-$200k if you do some digging.
Lamborghini is my favorite brand and i love the look of their cars the best, but if I had F-U money, I'd have a Ferrari SF90XX or LaFerrari. Those cars are just insanely gorgeous.
I just can't get excited about that XX. It's a great car, but I don't think it embodies the true XX character.
I'll take a 458 Speciale over that for a mid engine. My grail is a TDF though. All day.
I'll just leave this here. If you know, you know...![]()
Very inexpensive and easily attainable.
The front clip with the hidden head lights was killer.
Please pass the grey poupon. 🙃
A car doesn’t have to be new for it to be leased, especially a higher value car. Not saying that this one IS leased, just saying that it being a few years old doesn’t prohibit that from happening.
With ‘regular’ vehicles, leasing a current year pre-owned is actually a good trick. Being used, it should reflect some depreciation on the ‘purchase price’, but the basic residual should be the same as if you were buying it new (unless there’s a big mileage issue on it of course).
So leasing the used car should get you a lower cap cost that you are paying interest on (the rental portion), and the cap cost minus the residual (the depreciation portion) should be a smaller amount than if the car were brand new also.
Back in the early 2000s we would go to Canada and buy their short term lease return Suburbans and Tahoes for really low prices because that first 6-9 months is the biggest depreciation, bring them back over and pay for the gauge cluster to be swapped over to mph from kph (you had to have it done by a certified 3rd party because the kilometers had to be changed to the proper miles that were on the vehicle at that time).
We’d end up leasing those vehicles with less than 10K miles on them for about 60-70% of the monthly lease of the same ‘new’ rig. And make a LOT more money on the deal.
How do you even find yourself in the business of doing that?
