Deegan apologizes

Wah wah wah. It’s funny seeing all the people cry and complain about a kid coming in and making the sport interesting.

Then they get mad at Jett for going to the big super rich person event when he could be giving our sport publicity/making connections that could help our sport.

Go watch a pickleball tournament since it sounds like that’s where some of you belong.

The stuff in this sport is mere child's play that folks get offended about.  They would've needed long term therapy after a Tyson or Ali rant back in the day if they were boxing fans  lol that's for sure.   Ali did some crazy stuff but Mike always went way overboard with his cocaine fueled rants ( Example NSFW - Watch at your own risk. It's youtube - but definitely 18+ very hateful language ).  Mike is still one of the most famous pro athlete's to ever walk the face of the Earth too. He was quite the character. 

Also on a  side note I've seen some comments about pro athletes crying (Davies)- Mike cried often and even talks about it to this day.

This apology was so much grammatically better than anything Mirtl has written since the lawrence situation.

I mean as juvenile as he can be, the kid has been hated and sh!t on since he was little. I can understand why he acts the way he does. Also not to mention he builds up rivalries and animosity in his head, over exaggerated or not. Both toward other riders and the fans who dislike him. He uses that anger as strength. When you understand the psychology it’s actually pretty smart of him and clearly it’s working so…. 

Many of the greats over the years have found ways to manufacture rivalries in their own head whether they were real or not. Champions find a way to motivate themselves.

The kids backbone is made from cotton candy. His dad says: "Be cool, talk smack on the podium", His team says: "You can't do this kind of things, you're representing all our sponsors. You know all those sponsors who are making those bonuses possible". 

And two days later that little kid needs to post something, written by guys who do that kind of job, creating something basic that isn't to complicated or too long. Because nobody believes Haiden can make up five sentences.

I don't even care about the comment, even if he was talking to me. As far as I know that Davies kid was doing his job and didn't deserve to be bullied all day, his aggression was unnecessary, and he lost a fan.

I mean, the denver stadium MAYBE had 22,000 people there and I would say 1/3rd of them were industry bros....so, not like this was formula one aka, not sure too many people noticed.

That apology HAD to be done pretty much. kinda like cole's interview talking about it. i gurentee he wasnt that calm about it and wanted to say how he really felt but took the high road or team orders to not say to much about it

In a world where exposure means profit the kid is a genius. Would I want my kid to say that on the podium? No. But if the Deegan's are playing the maximize ROI for as long as you can they are definitely winning. 

What blows me away is that guys Like Matthes are flaming this kid when only a few short years ago Steve is praising Roczen for saying "Lick my balls" in his social media. As well as claiming "we needs guys like this in the sport" when referring to J-Law and his multiple bad life choices as a professional.  

Who cares. He’s young, fast, cocky etc but man is it going to fun watching him and Davies go at it for years to come.

I think saying something on social media is different than saying it in a podium interview at the stadium. I think most parents would prefer to not have to try to explain what “it” he wanted everyone to suck to their young kids at a Supercross. I tell my kids all the time they have free speech and can say whatever they want, but your speech can and will have consequences. I think that’s what happened here. 

You disappointed because you really wanted to suck it and that’s off the table now?
