Theres 2 more races, each race pays 25 total points.
Cooper has 325 points
Chase has 313 points
Chase is -12 points.
If chase wins the next 2 races he ends with 363 points.
If coop gets two 2nd places he ends with 369 points and the title.
If coop gets two 3rd places he ends with 365 points and the title.
If coop gets one 3rd and one 4th he gets 363 points and ties with sexton on points. Sexton would have 7 wins to webbs 5 and would win the title.
So in order for sexton to win this he has to win the next 2 races and webb has to get a 3rd and a 4th or worse at the next 2 races.
Tom Vialle has 160 points
Seth Hammaker has 159 points
RJ Hampshire has 157 points
If Tom wins the last race he ends with 185 points and the title.
If Seth wins the last race he ends with 184 points and the title
If RJ wins and Tom gets second they both end with 182 points but RJ would have 2 wins to Toms 1. RJ wins.
If RJ wins and Seth gets 2nd RJ wins the title with 182 points to Seth’s 181 points.
So for all 3 its winner take all. This round is a shootout though so both classes together.
Between Seth and Vialle if both finish in front of RJ, whoever ends up in front of the other one wins because Seth is only down by 1 point.
If RJ only finishes 1 place in front of Tom in the pack he loses to Tom if Seth is behind both.
If RJ finishes ahead of both Tom and Seth and there is at least 1 rider between him and Tom RJ wins the title.
And the only two riders that are capable of placing in between them will just roll over for them. it’s over now.
Yup, it's pretty much over.....but there must be huge pressure on Cooper's mechanic.
You think? I’d have thought it would be higher last night so he could catch Chase without bike blowing up or ??

I thought Sexton already won the title last weekend? I mean, he beat Webb by 30 minutes so I thought that meant he won the title? Wait, now you’re telling me that was just one race?

Webb won it and Chase lost it last night. The only reason Chase would win another one is Webb lets him.
Or Webb could get taken out or his bike could grenade or a meteor....lol.
The could’ve been Chase’s last real chance at an SX championship. The Lawrences will be back and he’ll get smoked.

This equation is pretty damn crazy, the last round is going to be absolutely nuts for 250 east. A championship on the line is going to bring out the most entertaining side of RJ 😂

I’m a little surprised we haven’t seen it at the last 2. So I’m not sure what to expect.
Going out on the limb, he’s going to either win it or it will be a full on yard sale…
Here is another scenario for you since we are playing “What If”:
If Chase wins Denver (338 pts) and Webb finishes as far back as 12th (335 pts) then SLC is winner takes all. Webb would win the tie breaker with more 2nd place finishes.
If Chase wins Denver (338 pts) and Webb gets 2nd (347 pts) then Webb would need to get 5th or better at SLC to still win the championship.
Basically it is going to take something catastrophic for Chase to win the championship. Also don’t listen to people (broadcasters included) when they say that Webb “has to finish on the podium to maintain his points lead”.
Edit to add: I love how a post with facts and no opinion gets downvoted here. Bottom line is Cooper needs to earn 39 points to ensure a championship without worrying anything about what happens to Chase. Vitards gonna Vitard!

The mental mistakes killed Chase. Off the top of my head, hitting the gate that time, giving away that triple crown win, and the complete meltdown at Gillette being a minute ahead of Webb the last lap. He should have taken this title comfortably.

All true, but he was 1 second behind Webb last night on a track that suits the KTM....and beat him by 30 seconds 7 days ago......but could not get it done. I want Chase to win, but he just doesn't have the fight, the mental ability to dig in when needed, or something else that causes the inconsistency. Last night was not the mistake in the whoops because he caught Webb again. He just couldn't get it done. Think back to RC, RV, or Stew in a race like that. They would have done whatever it took to get there or died trying.
1000%. He started right behind Webb and couldn't get it done. Why couldn't he skim the whoops? Thrasher was doing it on a 250. The championship was on the line with the guy he had to beat right in front of him. Like you said, a guy like RV gets it done
I don't believe he was a whole minute in front of Webb going into the last lap, but maybe I'm wrong.
The crash at Daytona hurt him and I guess when he ran out of steam in the main and went from pressuring for 2nd to 5th(?).
The round he tipped over and let Justin Cooper get passed him. Definitely Chase's fault here, too many mistakes. Cooper made the most of them.
I'm pretty sure it was something like 53 seconds. Yup Daytona was another one. Was it Cooper that got by him that round and even Barcia, too? That's quite the list we just made. That's not getting it done against a guy like Webb.
250 is going to be insane. Last time West riders went 1-2.
No Star rider involved, so Deegan and Davies won't care. East title is all but over unless Deegan crashes this weekend

Only chance is some freak incident on a start or a mechanical for Coop. That last mudder where Coop passed Chase on the last lap is difference maker on the season.
I say Chase has cleaned up his mistakes a lot this season. He's not where he wants or needs to be but he's definitely working on it.
Just as big a problem for him is that he's in a fight with a master tactician. I don't know if Coops race craft is something he consciously thinks about...plans...or if its just a natural born talent like a lion. Either way, he has made it work for him more than once.
I don't know if his mojo will work as well on Eli and Jett when they get back.
The only way, short of Webb having a bad fall or mechanical, for Chase to win is for Chase to go full BamBam. I don’t think he has that in him, but if the rolls were reversed Webb sure as hell does….so…
