Why do people think it is bad for Chase to go to a third team? Ricky went to 3 teams seemed to work out for him. Every team Chase has rode for would take him back with the way he is riding
I think people forget about that as well.
Ricky would have stayed at Honda if they wanted him.
They made Ricky an offer, Suzuki blew it out

ClubMX would be 100% better than HEP for Ando imo
It’d be really interesting to see how Jason’s riding style would work on a Yamaha.
Yes, and there's a lot of cash needed to make that deal.
Not to mention ET3 is on his third team as well. Kenny is on his fourth. I dont see it as a big deal at all.
I have no doubt he'll be fine wherever he goes it's just a matter of how long it takes to get there.
to be fair, those guys went pro in 2011-2012. Chase in 2017 😂
It’s a perception thing - Suzuki seems the slowest followed by Kawasaki. Yamaha feels the fastest to us spectators.
keep telling folks the threat of deegs is the push back for star not resigning Eli immediately, but some of yal is too emotionally invested & dont understand business, listen to weege & learn something
Now’s Mike Genovas time to throw that Spa money at Tomac for a SX only deal!!!! Get Honda to supply a factory bike and Eli keeps all his personal sponsors. Problem solved.
I think it more has to do with his age and being on a 3rd team. As in, maybe he runs out of manufacturers to go to. I've only heard Matthes say it. Personally, I don't think it will be problem. Never know though.
I'm 99% sure that this is the reason for Sexton entertaining the thought of going green.
And even if KTM survives, the race team budget will be much smaller than previous years with less options and less race R&D.
DV has indicated in another thread that the Chase to Kawi deal is done. So really the "unknowns" now have increased (Eli, Mookie, Ando, Barcia....maybe Roczen but likely HEP) but Chase is no longer one of them. Prado and Sexton is quite a 450 roster!
Be interesting to see how that pans out. Last time they had a roster like that was RV and Reed back in 2010.
2 and 22
They didn't do that well if I remember correctly.
Pit Row
I don't know that this is much of an issue with him. Seems to leave everywhere on good terms and if by the next time around there's a new bike you just tell yourself it'll be better. Even with Honda and the issues there he still won them a title. If the Lawrence brothers left I have to think chase would be top of the list of guys they'd go after.
I'm probably just coping because chase is my guy but with the continued KTM financial issues I'm starting to be less opposed to the change.
My biggest concern at this point is whether this will prevent chase from being able to race MXON for third year in a row, this time with it being a few hours from where he grew up. That would not be cool.....
Wouldn't he ride MXoN on the KTM? Or does the contract expire the day after the last SMX race?
RV likely wins the title if not for St Louis. Chad was ass (outside of Hangtown)
Then I think Ricky Dietrich raced all summer haha
Mathes was talking about it yesterday with Zacho on his podcast and he seems to think it's about the bike. Chase looks amazing so that sounds crazy. But he referred to Chase saying how they weren't going to keep searching for settings on the bike and he was just at going to ride it like it is. Meaning he's still not happy with the bike.
That was 2009 when Ricky rode for Kawi. He rode really good actually. 2011 he did the whole series on a Yamaha and the field was much deeper
That team probably won’t be around next year.
Kawasaki kept us from watching Eli for 4 years at MXoN. Apparently, because of Roger. I hope the trend doesn’t continue.
I think Hombre would thrive having one of the best riders as a teammate. Throw in management like Brooks, who is a wizard when it comes to bike development and rider relationships. Suzuki stepping up even more support and a tried and true bike. Seems like a better set up to end career on high note. Not offense to Club by any means. They do not have an Ando level rider for him to bounce off of. He hasn't had a real teammate (due to injury and being faster) since the Husky days. Just my humble opinion which doesn't mount to a hill of beans.
You’re right I got my years mixed up. Who was the fill in for 2010? Wey?
The way Deegan is somehow struggling in sx still... Rumor of Tomac wanting a "2 year deal"? seems odd to me. Webb very close to a 3rd title right now..
Here's how it was supposed to go at Star Yamaha:
-Sign Webb for another full year in '26
-Sign Tomac for SX Only in '26 then retire.
-Deegan moves up to 450 into Tomac's spot for '26 MX and beyond
-Justin Cooper keeps riding on the best team for who cares the pay.
-Remove Craig from the team, absolutely pointless ride so far. Free up the money.
why do everybody keep bringing up Christian 🤔 Christian’s funding comes from the star & Bobby side of things , he is separate from coop , jcoop & Eli , those 3 funding is coming from factory Yamaha themselves, Christian is irrelevant to this whole dilemma
That might be where his salary comes from but what about the bike, parts, mechanic, space in the rig, etc.... it's not without cost to the Yamaha 450 effort just because the 250 side pays his salary.
