Kawi offered chase significantly more money. He takes deal back to KTM & they’re shitting bricks, can’t match it. Chase is forced to take the Kawi deal due to being significantly more $$. But KTM has time to implement the first right of refusal. So right now nothing is done until that time passes or KTM says we’re not doing that?

KTM is going to implement the first right of refusal if sexton wins the title, to have the #1 plate. If not, they’re going to let him go & go to plan B. Plan B? Tomac or Mookie for KTM.

If sexton stays at KTM then why can’t Mookie or Tomac go to Kawi?

Nothing happens til Salt Lake City checkered flag flies.

If KTM does the first right of refusal, could Kawi offer more money and that trumps the first right of refusal? I’m not sure how that works.

I looked it up and although this is for real estate, I'd imagine it works the same:

(Per google): A right of first refusal (ROFR) gives a specific party the first opportunity to buy a property or asset when the owner decides to sell it. It's a contractual agreement, and while it grants a right, it's not an obligation to buy. The ROFR holder gets to match or beat an offer from another potential buyer.

So KTM's only option is to match or beat Kawi's offer. They can't just tell Chase "no".

This. I can't see Eli going to Baker's for training outside of testing in a central location. He does that now at Star.

I truly think the fitness side he'd never give up to anyone. He's keeping all that close to the vest still because of competition but I also think one day in say 10 years he is training a top pro and is still keeping it close to the vest for that reason.

He's a lot like his dad I think, where the coaching could stem some of the competitive fire post retirement. And he already has an insane facility. Much like Kdub.

"I can't see Eli going to Baker's for training outside of testing in a central location."

It would be laughably bold of Aldon to think he could do a better job of training Eli than John has done.

It would be pretty stupid for any team to force Eli to comply with their preferred training location/program. If there's one aspect of Tomac's game that is not to be doubted, it's fitness. Dude came back from multiple months off the bike at the age of 31 and podiumed multiple races at MXDN. Dude knows how to stay fit.

He’s gunning for the title regardless of which bike he’s on, he’s not extending his career for the sake of just extending his career because he likes to ride dirt bikes like others have - he’s extending it until he believes he can no longer contend for a title.

Maybe I should’ve worded it different, do you think he gets a win or 2 or do you think a Ducati in the first year with Tomac can go legit win a championship? What do you think about Triumph? I think maybe he would have more luck with Triumph since they’ll have already been running the 250 program for 2 years.

It basically means if another manufacturer makes an offer to Chase he must show it to KTM & then if KTM “matches” ( it’s usually a +  x% though) then Chase can’t leave , even if he wants to.

Technically, from the way I understand it, if KTM implements this right then Chase has to stay at KTM.  But if the rider wants to leave then it’s not going to work out well being forced to stay. so that’s why you never see it done.

I think Eli at Bakers St would be great, Aldon could learn a thing or two.

I was wondering the same thing. He seems to have a good program. Why go to Kawi?

What options will he have after these next two upcoming injury riddled seasons?

I think he will only be at bakers to test with the team pre season like he does right now with star.

I'm betting Sexton will be just fine whatever team he decides to race for. Rides like Saturday shows when he is focused he can win on anything.

So it sounds like the following

Sexton Prado Kawi

Ap Tomac? KTM

Mookie Rockstar Triumph

RJ Husky 450

Webb, Jcoop and Deegan outdoors Star 450

Barcia Ducati

Roczen Ando HEP

Never would have I imagined Eli leaving Star and Sexton leaving KTM but then again Ryan Dungey coming out of retirement wasn't on my bingo card ever.

If Mookie ends up at Triumph I really hope that Rockstar deal is a personal one. That logo makes any bike look like shit.

I don't think the gasgas looks bad, but I don't see Rockstar being cool with Triumph using British racing green plastics and a brown seat cover, which I desperately want to see. Even though now that I'm imagining a Rockstar logo on it, gold would complement that color scheme very well. LET A MAN DREAM!

At this point nothing is a done deal. Sure there are strong talks with Kawasaki but KTM is still in play as well.

Chase has the KTM working perfectly and now leaves to spend another year getting comfortable?  Bummer but I bet Kawi is putting up more $ then KTM right now.

I have a hard time imagining Anderson to HEP. It sounded like they’ve already stretched Suzuki as much as possible to get Roczen and that’s even with his Fox and RedBull money. I think Club could take the next step like HEP did when they initially signed Roczen and get a marquee 450 rider like Anderson to take their effort to the next level.

If you talk to who I think you talk to I'm sure you'd know. Matthes' direct quote was something along the lines of, "heard from someone I trust that nothing is signed but it's really looking like Kawi"

I think Ando to Suzuki is very doable

Cc11 is retiring don’t 5

Kenny and Ando would make a very good team

Far fetched to think Chase rode Levi’s kawi 450 at some point? Train at the same facility.

From what I understand, Club would love to have Jason. But guys of that caliber require a hefty salary, bonus structure and team resources, it's going to be tough to put that deal together IMO.
