Now what?

It's either going to be RedBull Honda or KTM slammed down a bunch of cash!

What team do you think he signed with??

I'm going for what DV posted ............but who knows?
Hes only mad because Mike couldnt do the bike justice..... Pourcel would do just fine on the KTM apparently Bob is stuck in the 90's when the bikes actually did suck.

Quite possibly the dumbest thing you've ever posted. Possibly.

I understood that Monster had, at the very least, a 1st right of refusal...

I agree. But, only because I'm not a CP fan, and I've been a Honda fan/rider for as long as I can remember! Do not want to see him on a Honda.

CP might be the smartest rider in the sport right now. Very little practice. Keep "training" fun. Hang out by a pool, jet ski, chics, etc. Show up on Saturday and finish top 3 and lead the points. Calculated.
He will do any team proud. Hope it is Honda but it would be great to see USA KTM in the premier class chase.

Don't be so sure... I've seen some pretty stupid posts come out of BobbyM. I'll agree this one is up there.

Doesn't every team try to buy a championship
by paying riders to win?

There's a shocker: factories want to hire proven champions, and riders want to market themselves as such when they are champions. What is the world coming to?

I think given his relative light weight and he doesnt muscle the bike around rather finesses it so IMO the 350 would suit him perfectly ....he was already running laptimes as fast as the leaders of the 450 class on a 250f. He could do the bike justice....and for outdoors he might not tire out as fast on the 350 with his condition of the previous injury but he will likely go with honda.....too bad KTM really needs a rider of his caliber to run that 350 or even their 450 if he chooses to do so.
Does that mean that he'll have even faster lap times than his 250f since he'll have more power? Like James, RV, Tedesco, Short, etc...

Or could it be the trade off between the two bikes, with one going downhill or into corners faster but giving up starts uphill and coming out of corners? Rather than he's just that fast on less bike.

Was Honda SELLING a championship when Carmichael left? ;-)

I hope he really doesn't.... Smile

Here is how I see it.
KTM has came along way over the years,I think someday they will do it.
The bike may not fit Mikes riding style and not getting him the starts that he needs etc..,but it is possible it could be a good match/fit for CP,especially moving up from the 250's.
CP's lap times are up there on the 250's,if he got decent starts and got the 350 figured out,it is possible he could be a championship threat on that machine. Wink

Seems to work ok for Carolli, for holeshots and a World Championship, Beat some guy who races a factory 450 Suzuki by over 80 points. No one here had anything for Desalle except Dungy so I think the bike is just fine.

That's very journalistic of you. Tnx because this nonsense here haven't created any more knowledge what so ever. Did he say he was in discussion? Can you give us anything without burning any bridges?

That's odd....because a former factory racer posted that he indeed did sign one this morning.

Except at altitude right? As if by magic, the only conditions that affect the 450 vs 350 battle.

It wasn't David........it was Scott Burnworth.

He said that he only wanted to mention that CP signed some contract with some new team. Weather it's still with kawi as a Factory rider ( doubtful since they have RV and Reed ) , Or RB Honda , KTM......I don't really know.

It may be a couple weeks before we actually know. But from what I have seen of Scotts posts , he's usually pretty good at keeping things strait and narrow.

Honda isn't the winning team it used to be. KTM, proven bike that can win with a good rider, something they have never had in the states
