I think this one could have been avoided. No need to build tracks with transitions that steep.
When someone like AP says he wanted nothing to do with that track after second practice, it says a lot.
I just tried reaching out to road2recovery. Trying to find out if they have anything setup yet for Jerry. As soon as I see something or hear back from them I will post it up. If any of you other peeps want to reach out to them their email is info@road2recovery.com website is road2recovery.com .
He’s on Facebook too if you have that
But then you will get the chest thumpers saying to make it tougher and they probably couldn’t even make a lap around it. I know we evolve and SX shouldn’t be easy, but damn I just hate to see people hurt unnecessarily.

So gutted for Jerry. Really hoping he can walk again one day. The sport can be brutal. To all the keyboard warriors that wanna shit talk the guys in the back of the field should remember that these dudes are out there risking it all. Your entire life can change in a split second.
Yeah there are going to be idiots on both sides of this argument, which is ridiculous. The speeds are too high and they need to slow the tracks down, then when they slow the tracks down, it's too technical.
How many bad injuries were there yesterday? One. It's a freak accident and shows the minuscule margin of error these guys deal with every day, no matter what the track build is like.
In his own post, Jerry took responsibility for making a mistake. If anyone has the right to blame the track, it's him, and he didn't. He mentioned the transitions but didn't complain.
Fukin damn dude. . . .sometimes silence is best.
Sucks to read, hoping he can get feeling back in his legs. What a crazy turn of events for anyone.
they're barely 24h removed and 1. the kid is posting updates (GOOD) and 2. He's saying he can't feel his legs (BAD).
I obviously don't know anything about anything about this situation, but I have to believe there's a lot of "wait and see" right now. 24h might look a LOT different from 3 weeks from now. Fingers crossed and wish him nothing but the best.
You’re here just like the rest of us non-SX riders posting and what did you expect?
Wish Jerry all the best. Sucks to see and it’s brutal thinking about it.
I think most, if not all pros would agree that the tracks should be built with consistency. That should be a completely different thread though, let’s keep this thread strictly to updates about Jerry.
Prayers sent. Man I just watched the Gypsy tales pod with him on it a few days ago and was instantly a fan. I knew of him from the 85 CR250 thing. However I never really glimpsed into who he was or anything. After Gypsy I was impressed. Gutted for him. Praying for a miracle🙏🏼
If you listen to what the people actually racing supercross say they’re scared of these tracks and have to fight it.
Phil Nicoletti talks about it in every pulp show he’s co hosting. These tracks are f-ing gnarly and anybody who actually rides and has ridden even an arenacross track knows they’re dangerous enough. That rhythm section was awkward, had little to no flow and the faces were so steep and stupid.
I wish him a speedy recovery and the best for him and his family 🙏
Great kid, I still remember a video ("Vintage Iron") with Cooper and Cue, ripping old machines.
Jerry just posted a video of the crash on his instagram.

Man that’s tough to watch, praying for Jerry 🙏🏻
Hoping the best for Jerry and his family on the road forward.

Man, I am so gutted. I have been a big fan since day 1 on his 250 CR and always look for him on the board. Wishing him a full recovery.
Damn, that sure shows how quick things can go bad. That was a pretty mild crash, considering what we see these guys go through.
I am sure he will need financial help, is there a Go Fundme yet?
I just watched it too. I became an even bigger fan of Jerry's after that. I think because of that, this is hitting really hard. This really sucks for Jerry. Sitting here on my couch right now i don’t even want to watch the race next weekend. I know that may sound crazy. I'm going to pray for him.
I misread the post that I quoted and haven't had a chance to re-read it until now. My apologies,. My first part of my post still stands. I'm hoping for a solid recovery for Jerry. Every time I see his name, I think of him ripping that 1980's CR250.
Terrible news for Jerry and wishing him all the strength to get through this. Kia Kaha Jerry.
Geezus, this is horrible. Such a mild ‘looking’ dismount, would never imagine paralysis would be the result from such a slow dismount. Shucks man, absolutely terrible.
Yeah that's the way it goes sometimes. A freak accident that is life changing. Danny/Magoo's crash in Paris pretty much the same thing. Then when you look at crashes like Reed Millville 2011. I thought he was done for good when he was air walking that high up. He got back up and got on the bike. @Ozzy was standing right there - he looked more shook up than Chad. I remember seeing him watch Chad get back on the bike. Dave's hands looked like they were shaking. That was very scary looking crash.
Jerry’s injury has nothing to do with me whatsoever…but all day I’ve been thinking about selling my bike. I was going to try to qualify for Loretta’s for the first time this year but honestly it’s hard to justify after seeing something so tragic happen like this in our sport. It feels close to home and it’s just sickening.
Crazy man. That feeling of hate and love you can have for a sport, not just because of wins or losses. So brutal. Was loving this years version of Jerry, he was killing it.
It all breaks my heart. The coldest of it being that in time Jerry will drop from people’s minds, and thats usually when they need the ongoing support.
Another spinal injury to the list. Sucks real bad all round.
