Hey thanks for telling me that story.

If Jett had exhibited some anti-Aussie behavior I really wouldn't give a shit, I want to see him at the MXdN. I have no Australian patriotism.

I don't understand why the Aussies seem so invested in American patriotism.

Though I can't imagine it, Jett may get some leeway if he didn't go once, but twice while waving the flag all year would definitely attract a lot of shit.

However unlike the US it seems, I don't think we'd be so quick to forgive and forget.

Of course you'd be upset, because you're an Aussie. Doesn't that make my point? What would be weird is if I, as an American, was upset over your Jett scenario.

Why do you say the US is quick to forgive and forget, did you miss the post right above yours as well as several others in this thread? There's a pretty large contingent that don't want to see him race for the US team.

I wouldn't want a person who couldn't be fucked representing my country two years in a row to suddenly show up just because it was convenient. Especially if they'd made a big show of being a 'patriot' for no other reason than to garner clicks and drum up controversy.

I wouldn't say "so invested",,,, rather "so interested"

But to answer "why"?

I'm generalising... but for many of us, American's are some of the most overtly outwardly patriotic people on the planet. Which in turn makes it fascinating to watch how that plays out in the sports we love to watch

"Interested" would be sitting back and watching the Americans grapple with the Deegan elephant in the room. Instead, in the last few years we have endured an onslaught of negative Team USA threads that are overwhelmingly driven by Aussies (all due respect to the Brits . . . and Tumic, wherever he's from). As if they are somehow "invested".

The rest of the world has to see the ”American pride” every day of the year, on the news, your president etc. And I’m fine with that as long as it’s real. But when we have to get it down our throats and it’s abut as real as Marissa’s tits, and it’s only for likes and selling merch, people will get an opinion about it.

For most of us Des nations is the highlight of the year and we want to see riders on the gate that want to be there, and give the event the respect it deserves instead of turning it to some smack talking circus to make more money on YouTube.

You guys have Roczen now right? He is a US citizen...not to long and you'll have Hunter and Jett...

Hahaha.. just pulling the piss. The USA has enough talent to get it done. Can't wait for this year's Des Nations...as always  it an Epic event.

New Zealand's a state of Australia, our team should be Jett, Hunter and Cole!

NZ is not a state of Australia.

Aussies dont want Deegan because he will be top 3 in MX2

Assumptions: Roczen will ride for Germany, Kawasaki will not allow Chase to race MXdN.

With that out of the way, ideal team:

MX1: Webb

MX2: Deegan

MX3: Tomac

Webb is in great shape and RIPPING this year. Not a huge fan but totally respect his effort on the 250f last year. He's earned it thus far this year.

I'm undecided on Deegan's reasons for missing the last couple years. I wanna give the kid the benefit of the doubt. Anxiously waiting to see if he has another excuse to miss the next international race. My opinion on this will be on hold till decision time for Ernee 2026 assuming he's healthy.

Eli will surely scare the living shit outta any rider ahead of him with the limiter. Easy pick.

Hoping all the big dawgs around the world are healthy for Ironman this year!

Screw Deegan he doesn't deserve to be on the team.  Give me Webb on the 250 again, RJ or Hymas.  Send the guys that want to be there every single year.  Deegan is the last cancer we want on the team.  It won't be about the team it'll be about YouTube and getting clicks.  I hope he never gets picked for a team.

That would be great, agree those agreeing to go when travel was a little more inconvenient should get first choice but I’m pretty sure the decision makers don’t have the balls to upset team danger boy

Aussies should also know history, where NZ was reconised as part of Australia not long after its discovery.

Masterpool

J.Coop

AP7

Does Kawi let Sexton race? And does Sexton pick Seat time for Testing over the race?
Silly season could change what option USA have.

Does Deegan race a 450 like Jett did?

It’s in the US…. Kawi will probably support their riders, like 2018 at Red Bud.  If Chase signs, I bet the problem will be the Red Bull and Monster contracts.

It’s a long running joke especially meant to rile up the kiwis as we (Australia) often claim NZ born celebrities as ours.

Wasn’t Chase a Monster athlete when he was at Honda and switched to RedBull when he moved to KTM?

Nice meme. Well, if Aussies are jealous its certainly not about your riders - being that the best MX and SX rider in the world is Australian. Add to that, and in terms of Antipodeans, the best 250 SX rider in the world right now is a 17-year-old Kiwi.

New Zealand's a state of Australia, our team should be Jett, Hunter and Cole!

We should compete at MXdN as an ANZAC team.  We’d have a few more trophies.

Yes, but it’s rumored that those contracts don’t end at the same time as the chassis contracts.  Creating an overlap that is in conflict with MXoN dates.  Meaning, he can’t ride a Monster Kawasaki while he’s still a Red Bull athlete.
