I must admit I don’t really get the hate for the move to kawi. Ask cooper Webb how flexible ktm is and ask chase and they would give very different answers. Actually ask anyone not named chase sexton how flexible ktm was on bike set up.

I can’t get on board that chase would sign with Kawasaki and they not provide some sort of plan for bike set up. Hell maybe chase spends too much time on bike set up. I think people are over thinking this move as some crazy negative.

Ktm is more flexible with chase then they ever were with webb i think.

Kawi will let KYB back in the door for Chase like they did with Eli. My guess, this was a sticking point for Chase as it was obvious he likes KYB. If indeed true and Chase goes green this could be good.  He is a bigger boy who muscles the bike and rides over the front. The kawi a notoriously long and rear end biased bike could help him. Chase and Jorge is formidable both in and out for Kawi.

This also unlocks Eli to stay another year or 2 at Star with Webb and Cooper.

Yamaha and Kawi secure, Kenny stays yellow, Anderson goes Ducati

So Vialle to KTM 450 starting Supercross?

Possible, that is up to his defense this year. They may allow the 250in/450out transition like Jett. Not a clue, it all changes so much in the end

Yep that’s exactly my point. Who is to say kawi won’t be more flexible than in the past.

I am a Kawi guy at heart, so I would love Chase go there. But we will see I guess

my view point , if they still tht damn pissy bout RD still being involved with MXON then they don’t get the benefit of the doubt tht they changed they ways as far as flexibility with bike parts & working with the rider with testing cause then still being pissy at RD lets me kno they still stubborn & stuck in their ways , its either their way or the highway with them boiiss , I’ll stick to wht I kno from listening to Jake wiemer & Eli , ppl thinking just cause they got tickle on testing role & they signed the hot commodity in prado tht changed 🤔 nah fam

People would’ve probably said the same thing about KTM after Webb rode for them, but here they are throwing WP internals in the forks. Decosters doesn’t even talk to his guys if they get 5th, ask Max Vohland or JuJu last year. Deegs to Kawi must not be in the works anymore if Kawis going all in on Sexton and Prado. They obviously want the SX title to break the bank with Chase. I also think Chase will mesh with the Kawi better. Kawis reputation with the Des Nations doesn’t seem to matter to Chase much either if he’s willing to go there, seems Chase wants whatever is going to give him the best edge he can get over these next couple of years against Jett and everyone else.

Webb ran cone valves tuned by FC for a round or two, then I believe that got shut down

That probably pissed him off worse than if they would have said no from the start.

kawi has yrs of history being headstrong vs how the coop situation was handled at KTM , when dunge & marv was there , the shit was fine & now with chase they bending over backwards to try to get the bike dialed to his liken so wht is chase goona find in the kawi thts goona be so much better than the KTM 🤔 unless this shock issue is so bad & unfixable tht he has to get away from it , like I said , this just seems like a money move to me

Maybe he wants a Jap bike with an aluminum frame and KYB suspension? My point was KTM was very close minded and then they started opening up more with Chase, and I think Kawi will do the same to win at all costs or they wouldn’t go after someone they know is super picky. Kawi knows what Chase has been having KTM do for him and I feel Kawi is going all in with Chase and they’ll do whatever to make him happy with the bike too. Chase wants to win plain and simple and Kawi seems to be there again too if they’re going after him. I’m one of the ones that would like to see him go green.

Underestimated the difference between steel and aluminum frames and has been dealing with shock fade. So to your point, definitely doesn’t like the shock. Barcia has also said the same thing about the shock fading.

Shock fade in a 20 minute race seems like something that shouldn't happen.

It doesn’t. Two separate things he’s been trying to figure out.

As far as the shock issue goes. Wasn't Chase having issues at HRC too? If I recall, he was adamant about running the BFRC and always having issues and wanted to go back to the regular shock and he was told something like "you made the decision to go with the BFRC and now you're stuck with it". Chase also likes the rear end of the bike to be "dead feeling" so maybe the issue is less bike specific and maybe more that Chase is setting his bike up outside the window of what the teams normally do......

He does seem picky especially with the shock. I'm surprised he ran the BFRC. I believe he was the only one out there on it. The RMZ450 is the only bike that comes with it stock and it is regarded as dogsheit

I thought he liked the BFR and Ken was the one being picky about it in 22. Maybe I am misremembering

Didn’t AC run the BFR some on his 450?

In terms of shock fade, what would a guy like Chase be feeling at the end of a moto?

My guess would be it would loose all its dampening and just turn into a pogo stick as the oil would heat up and get thinner

Happened to me a few times on the old 2013 yz450 where the exhaust was right next to the shock

On title 24, ricky said allegedly chase signed his kawi deal, why, why would he go to a team that doesn’t allow him to go to the depths that ktm did for him, and he’s just getting comfortable on the ktm i feel, I hope this isn’t a mistake chase regrets.

I would say the decision had alot to do with this

Aluminum dissipates heat up to 15 times faster than steel. Once a steel frame in a racing motorcycle heats from the other mechanical workings it holds heat, aluminum doesn't as severely.

I think Chase tried it on the Honda when Gajser was having success with it in MXGP. I'm not sure how long he ran it though.
