If he’s on you with less than 5 minutes left, there’s a 99% chance you’re losing.

Webbites - MX and SX are not the same thing.

We've had a big enough sample to know what he is outdoors. He a top 5 guy on good days. He's not a threat to win races

You can not honestly put Webb’s name next to Reeds for MX, for awhile you would have had to just take away one or two guys for Reed to win MX races by the boat load. Reed straight up beat RV and Dungey plenty of times for example. For most of Webb’s 450 career half the factory riders would have to be hurt for him to a podium. You would have a hard time saying with certainty that Webb would beat Dungey if he came back off the couch outdoors.

My hope, based on nothing but fandom, is that Coop, knowing at 29 his opportunities are dwindling, bows up this outdoor season and earns a spot on the desNations team. So, all you doubters,,,, keep posting. He has unfinished desNations business. As disappointed as I've been with his effort, 'Right now I don't give a shizzle about the nationals', paraphrasing from an interview after his first sx championship, I believe he can get it done.

I agree with you.  Reed had some great rides after 2009, particularly in 2012.  But before 2009, his commitment to MX was suspect,

That is the parallel I was drawing, Coop's commitment to MX is also suspect. (so far) But if he wins a 3rd SX Title, its possible that he will be more motivated to win an MX title as 3SX/1MX titles combined would make him an unquestionable all timer...and he seems to be motivated by things like that.

Reed’s 04 season is so underrated. Well ahead of a third place Windham in almost every race. Went 2-2 numerous times. Just so happens the GOAT was going 1-1.

Reed was beating RV and Dunge often and straight up in 2011. That was more impressive.

You can never take away someones title for what it is but theres a story to each. 09 Stew was out after being unbeaten, RV goes 1-1 round one, way ahead of Chad, then goes out. Then 800 cleans up the next 4 motos before going out too.

He gets gapped by 30-45sec by a guy like Sexton outdoors. He's going to magically get that much faster in his 9th season on a 450 at almost 30? Is Tomac coming back for mx? He won't get in the same zip code as Tomac and Chase pushing each other like they were doing in 2022. 45sec on 3rd place Anderson. Whos also a much better 450 mx rider than Coop. The stats don't lie

These Webb deepthroaters are out of control with this 'Webb outdoors' nonsense - and you haven't even mentioned Jett. Jett would destroy Cooper Webb outdoors even if he were riding an 85cc.  As I've mentioned in an earlier post, Webb will be looking at 10-10s if all the heavy hitters show up. Jett, Eli, Chase, AP, Hunter, J-Coop, Ferrandis, Anderson, and finally 2xMXGP World Champion Jorge Prado.

Yeah I haven't brought up Jett just because I don't know about his status. I did completely forget about Prado though! Y'all gotta stop. We hear this every season he's about to win a sx title. Then they bring up his 250 National title and beating Herlings that one time. Which is meaningless since we're talking about 450 mx

Sometimes, they might. At his very first 450 pro race, 2015 MXGP at Glen Helen, he went 2-3 and beat all the Euros except Febvre. Including Cairolli. I really don't believe he's put a serious effort into the 450 outdoor title chase yet. I think this is his last best chance to EARN a spot on the desNations team. I think he's well aware of it. I hope,,,, he doesn't waste the work he's already put into this season. What a thing to have to live with if he does.

Another time the stats may have lied? MC never came close to a 125 National title. I didn't anticipate him winning a 250 title based off of that. But he did it.

And I haven't claimed even once that Webb is gonna win the 450 national title. Just that I HOPE he can / will earn a spot on the desNations team.

Hot take, 93 MC on a 125 is arguably more impressive then 16 Webb on that Star 250. He finished 3rd 41 points behind Henry and 32 points behind Emig but 162 points ahead of Larry Ward in 4th. The top end talent MC raced in 93 MX is levels higher then Webb’s 16 250 season especially now that we know J mart was sick all year.

MC also won multiple motos his first year on the 250/450 in 94. The whole MC avg at moto stuff is completely over blown.

Cooper finishes a snails pace, miserable 3rd tonight. He may as well quit.

What’s his point lead?

Nobody is more mentally stronger than Webb!

I still get a kick about the media still playing into Roczens hand with his "injuries" excuses. Makes me want to barf.

Every time they showed Webb, he was by himself  and just creeping along. Then the race ends and he finishes third, and both of the announcers are gobsmacked. Webb had a phenomenal race, it’s a shame we didn’t get to see it.

I knew Webb was coming when I saw him jump the finish line and the next double after that.

Takes some balls to just decide to start hitting the bigger jumps mid race... and honestly not something coop would usually do

Webb seems to be his strongest with 5 mins or 5 laps left.  29 SX wins, 12 of them are by 1 second or less.  Strong race craft!

Reeds outdoor years with Yamaha from ‘03-06 were pretty damn good, RC was just better. Reed had Windham covered a lot of times outdoors. He was pretty damn good in 09 and 2011, Reed was solid outdoors lol

Even for Webb’s legendary late race charges, Foxborough was next level. After crashing twice he goes from behind Sexton to ahead of him and on the podium. So sneaky he was missed by the camera crew until after the race. This was the race he was supposed to lose points to Sexton, but apparently he didn’t get the memo.

I loved his comment.  "I shut off my brain".

What a night....  all around.    This is what makes mudders great.....the whole cart gets overturned and we see the unexepected.

I thought he was gonna lose massive points tonight....instead, he's back up 15.

Based on the booths reaction....I thought some kind of timing error had been made when they announced 3rd.    They didn't even show what was happening until after the fact.

The broadcast team fails again.

How the fawk did Coop gain 27 seconds to pass Sexton....  Holy shit...what an awesome night.

I would sure have rather watched Webb race instead of AP diving into the mud celebrating. I like AP but wow, that was inexcusably terrible broadcasting. They had no idea what was happening in the race that was still going on. Where else would you see such inept coverage of a professional sport?
