…then shit-talking him for some laughs at the very top of the live Pulp show this week, I’m just curious what he did to Steve to where he has such strong feelings about the situation when he could have ignored it and carried on.

The “what happened to the money you made racing” question seems weird when the guy won one 250 SX title seventeen years ago. And the “get a job” thing, shit, I work a full-time job and if someone stole my bike, I still wouldn’t be able to afford another one for a long time. I just don’t see anything wrong with J Law asking his fanbase for help if they’re obviously willing to help him.

If you follow his IG, you’ll see that he seems grateful for all he’s been given these last few years. He’s constantly thanking his sponsors and supporters, he even posted some longer videos where he scrolled through his GFM and thanked each person that donated by name… that makes it hard for me to believe he’d run off with the money, but I’ve been wrong before.

Should RacerX have promoted the GoFundMe on their IG? Probably not. But for the moto media guys to rail on him about this because of seemingly personal vendettas leaves a poor taste in my mouth, personally.

I don’t think Matthes was allowed at any of the JLaw parties back in the days.

Fuck refunding your money. Sorry, but if you are in a position to give J Law money for a new bike, then you’re in a position to donate to a charity like Road2Recovery.

J Law should use some of the funds to make sure the bike is good to go, then donate the rest to R2R.

Support the sport.

Right. What an insane take. JLaw should just buy A-kit with the money and whatever is left over give it to a charity of his choosing, amirite?

Matthes only supports giving money away when the government is involved and donations are not voluntary.

Completely out of context. He said all the money would be refunded by June 25, but if you want it sooner, contact him.

Where did he say that exactly?

I don't.

I also know that sometimes when I hand that person on the side of the road with the sign a fiver for food, that they may not be spending it on food.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure GoFundMe has strict rules on making sure the donated money actually goes to the nominated cause. Otherwise there's a legal term called "fraud"...

I'm wondering how somebody could claim that...if they're not a contracted professional rider...that a dirt bike was their only source of income! Seriously, what a huge admission of either personal laziness or lack of motivation. Does JLaw live in his parents basement or what?

Two completely different scenarios, but hey, that’s your opinion.

When a well know person reaches out to the public with a plea for help asking for money to help them purchase a motorcycle because theirs was stolen, and then they get their motorcycle back and therefore, no longer need the money for their advertised intended reason, then, the morally right thing would be to immediately give back the money that is no longer needed to purchase the item that they said they needed it for.

Sure, we all know that if you give $10 to a random stranger on the side of the road, they may end up using it for food, clothes, whatever they want to. But when it is a well-known person in the public who is requesting money to purchase a motorcycle because theirs got stolen, and then that situation changes, I tend to lean towards the money needing to be returned right away, unless certain individuals specifically say they do not want their money back.

GoFundMe should change their name to bootstraps.

Is someone going to take the 'n' off the end of 'stolen' and put 'his own' before bike?

Anyone on here actually give to his GFM and tested JLaw’s promise that he would return your donation right away if you reach out directly to him?

I wouldn’t be mad if he took all the money and shot it up. Not my money to tell anyone what to do with it, but trying to figure out how some of these people’s minds work.

I donated to a Go Fund Me once where a random guy just wanted to make a bunch of potato salad. He got the money and made a bunch of potato salad.

I find gofundme so strange, this person I used to work with opened one because she had been out of work for over a year and was in a hole financially and then went on a skiing holiday and got an injury and needed surgery and I'm sitting here thinking, if you are out of work for a year, in a mess with your finances, why are you going skiing in the first place. Takes some guts to post a gofundme to ask people to bail you out of debt for that.

I donated money to someone one time for something similar but they were sick. Next thing I know they have another new top trim truck, new camper, and are traveling all over.

Who wants to bet on if his new 450 and the missing 450 have the same VIN or not? Story seems kinda fishy. No new pics of the new bike he bought from the dealer? Dude posts the new socks he gets…

Can you even buy a new Kawasaki KX450F? They has a stop sale going on but not sure if it’s been lifted.

I was looking at one a few weeks ago, dealer told me they can’t sell one to me right now, supposed to be lifted mid April
