I tried to get my ex gf into racing and she repeatedly said, ‘what’s happening, what are they talking about?’ And ‘It’s pretty boring’
I think they are connecting, the whole commentary team rarely seem excited about the actual racing, and more about talking about shit outside of the actual race that’s happening…
Surely that’s an announcers key job — enhance the on track action…
Chase puts JA21 down in either race 1 or race 2 and RC rants about not wanting to piss JA off and that he's not the enemy you want when going down the stretch of a championship.
Coop puts (not quite, but in this context it applies) JA21 down in race 3, no word from RC about not wanting to piss JA off.
It's the exact opposite at my house. My wife's friends spent one evening watching RC and Diffey laughing their asses off making fun of the two of them and ignoring the actual races. In regards to RC they kept going on about how surprised he was at everything that was happening at the race, what language some of the words he used were from, and wondering aloud where his real partner Buffalo Bob was. Another time I had a friend over and he asked how often did they actually show racing going on during the broadcast and if the commentators follow racing themselves.

Me and my dad laugh about this every time it happens. Hes wrong 100% of the time lol. We always say if ricky says the pass is coming that means its not happening. We laugh out loud every time it happens. “Watch this hes gonna get him up here” “oh nevermind”.
“Getting two birds stoned at once” is one of the best. My girlfriend who’s never seen the show uses that from me using it so often. Such a great show!
