Just listened to Matthes's take on his Monday night show. He boils it down to "they didn't get along"? What a doosh. No Steve DB was freaking railroaded by insecure power hungry unprofessional scum bags. There now you get it.
I swear Steve and Jt basically dances around the story never mentioning the reality of the facts being how RC bullied him, Lee was a baby, and the "Decider" slammed him into submission.
I think even if you forget about the Blair story, RC sucks in the booth. We all know it. He must not be self aware enough to even realise and the people around him must be absolute cheer leaders to not give him the real truth. Also, people running Supercross must be delusional to think the current iteration of the broadcast is good (except latest one at Daytona - let's see if they have woken up).
Regardless of this particular issue, calling people out for behaving poorly should not be frowned upon. Granted, only DB has sold the story, however it is fairly convincing.

You're actually spot on. At every company I've worked for, and others i've worked with, you have the same old problems where some people call the shots even though they have no right too. Or they don't have the skills but they're friends with management or whatever.
However I think the reason for DB's video was to air his side once and for all and not carry this with him any longer and i respect that a lot. I'd say he's cool with it if he can't get back in the industry, but now he isn't living a lie and covering for other people. It must be a huge weight off his shoulders.

My opinion is RC has massive small man syndrome and his narcissistic behaviors don't allow him to accept anything other than being told how great he is. I cannot understand how he is still employed since he is horrendous at his job, and was likely threatened by DB even though they were doing different jobs. I lean towards DB telling the story as it happened, but welcome to a job. Whether corporate or working for a small business, you sometimes have to adjust and "tow the line".
The thing is that they both 100% believe they are in the right. It is everyone else who is wrong. They live in an echo chamber and surround themselves with yes men. Anyone who disagrees is cast away as being "not a team player". If anything is said, it will be some PR company nonsense that doesn't really say anything.

Come on, there's a HUGE difference. Journalists in standard news media aren't paid or sponsored by the companies and people they're covering like they are in MX. Right?
The sport is too small. There's like 10 people in the world making a living from motocross "journalism" and they're all sponsored by companies in the industry. They have to tip-toe around slighting those companies, the riders of those companies, and friends of those companies or else sponsorship goes away and food is taken off their dinner table. It's unfortunate motocross is still small enough that "the industry" can circle the wagons around the truth and anything negative being reported. As soon as someone speaks out they can get black balled and it's game over. It sucks but it's the truth. Being buddy-buddy with everyone is the only way to get little bit of information we do now.

What I wish he would have done is also reached out to RC, Leigh, and/or whomever else was involved in the broadcast at the time. I don’t like that it is being written off a just a disagreement. JT is different. These are people he actually works for so he justifiably needs to stay out of it and he doesn’t claim to be a journalist.
