Super pumped to see him get a solid result. He has the speed and should be running up front

A whole year off and a new team, he just needs a few races to get back in the flow. He's better each week.

Plus early results would’ve been better if he didn’t have the rekluse clutch issues

So happy for Max after all he’s been through. First Yamaha on the night.

Should seems like a lot. I think a lot of people would like to see it. But ‘should’ in this scenario seems to be asking a lot considering the issues hes riding around.

Are there any photos of his hand brake setup?  Crazy he's riding like that with 2 levers on the same side.

Very crazy and bum’s me out that he can’t be riding the Yamaha conventionally as he has yet to shine.

Cool video about it here. Didn't realize they even needed to change the whole rear set up as well, like rotor and pads.

After watching his post race interview from Detroit, it’s so cool to see him looking comfortable and riding like he knows he can. I didn’t realize he started so far back in the main, he possibly could have had podium speed

That is the old setup. The new one is way different but better. It looks crazy. I'm trying to find the pics of it at the moment.

A few of the things I've seen him do in the club video's..... he has more skill than I thought.  That's a race winner with this continued build.

After seeing how he was riding at a1 2024 in practice I immediately had a new favorite rider, hopeing he gets his nerve problem fixed and or adapts to the new hand brake setup because the level of full send last year was unmatched

There will be another update coming but he’s back on a regular clutch and brake. I love seeing the one off type of stuff.

That's a clake slr, more popular in the off-road world but anyone can buy one they're just pricy.

That's a Clake - well, one of the variations / models they produce. It's far from a one off.

I find it strange that they appear to Not have tried Clakes stuff - it Is, Admittedly expensive, though I'd assume Owen (?) there might do a deal with them. And, well, the exchange rate is pretty bloody favourable for the US.

Perhaps it's a bit of NDH /NMBU?, and, by the same token, it's not hard to make simple set ups that might work for you.

I know this will be an unpopular opinion but I see the left hand rear brake and auto clutch set up an advantage not a disadvantage,

Imagine modulating the front brake with your foot, how much control you’d lack,

I come from a mtb background and both brakes on bars is where is so much easier, I can’t imagine a foot brake on a mtb it would be terrible, and I feel it is on a mx bike too, but riders have just become conditioned to an extremely tricky and awkward technique and pros have made it second nature,

What other motorsport do you clutch it out of corners, if you can ride smoothly in the correct gear in the meat of the power,

With the Recluse auto clutch the fear of stalling also dissapears, dissipating reliance on the ‘crutch’ clutch

You can also put your leg out round a right corner as well as a left and keep your feet on the pegs for longer in the correct position as you’re not needing to move that leg/foot for braking

I'm awful at using my rear brake. I'm constantly adjusting my pedal height, too. I know the Stark offers a rear hand break option and I think it would be awesome

You are definitely right about having an advantage in certain situations. But he’s using this set up because he can’t feel with his right leg/foot. Which feels like a big disadvantage.

I agree with you there and I should’ve been more empathetic in my post about the reason he has to run that set up and fair play to him for doing so, but my point still stands,

I can’t wait to try a Varg with both breaks on the bars, and I’m planning to change my bike to this set up soon!

Sorry if I missed the answer, but will his right leg/foot return to normal or is this a permanent issue he is dealing with? thx

I use to watch his Dad and Uncle race back in the day.. The kid looks do good on the bike. It is a shame that Mitch couldn't of kept him on one more year. But he does look good on the Yamaha..
