Is it true they got rid of him because rc never liked him?

DB is amazing in the booth! Stoked he’s back for a bit, wish he were back permanently.  Would love to see RC move on to just podcasting and some other form of media and be replaced in the booth by Daniel.

DB talked about it finally on Pulp a few weeks ago. It wasn’t RC, it was some dipstick manager at NBC that didn’t like Blair and, as DB said, completely disrespected him in a  meeting. So DB knew he wouldn’t get to where he wanted with that guy in place, and he left. Sad that such talent was wasted by NBC, they are truly clueless at times.

Dear god please replace Miss Blabbermouth with DB PLEASE 🙏🏻

It would be nice if NBC fired almost everybody.

It's a rumour. Yes. I for one suspect it's true. 

That's leaving out a lot of the story. He walked away because he was told by a top NBC exec that he wouldn't rise any higher. Further to that, the rumours on the street suggest it was because of RC that the NBC exec had this view. 

He does...to a degree. He was still frustratingly vague. And of course peanut brain Gyspy Ho wasn't able to get anything else out of him.

I know the exact segment y'all are talking about. I remember having a pretty bad taste in my mouth about RC at that time, didn't realize everyone else caught it. Glad to have DB back on the broadcast. Maybe one day he makes it back in the "night show".

Death, taxes and DB changing it up as far as his career goes!   I hope he is back in the booth one day.  I never expected him back on RDL. In the meantime the Blair Matthes project is really good.

Blairs Breakdown - Arlington still haunts me to this day. Can't look at Ricky the same and wish he would get out of the booth. Need something fresh and someone who isn't gonna be afraid of hurting riders feelings. 

I love how everyone thinks RC is some puppet master deciding who is on the show and who isn't.  DB found out the same thing Emig did and someday, RC will.  Feld and NBC call the shots.  They decide who is on the show, who to replace, and when.  I remember Emig investing in voice coaching to elevate his performance and solidify his position in the booth.  NOPE.  The suits pivoted and he was gone.  DB wanted more, felt the tug of the end of his chain, unclipped and hopefully found success with less red tape and more freedom to pursue his own endeavors.

I would just like to know who on the production crew thinks Will Christian is a better speaker than Blair or Thomas. They have to be as clueless as she is 

From years of experience, the security at the Speedway is the worst.

Have seen many properly creditialed -- myself among then -- racers, mechanics, team personnel, media -- accosted and berated and strong-armed by security over many many years.

If what DB said is true, I wonder if it goes back to the guy at NBC that’s a jerk and was the reason for DB stepping away.
