I do admire Chases desire to win no matter what race it is. I don’t like seeing racers coast it in. Now, don’t get me wrong it would have been a LOT smarter to coast it in, it’s just cool to see people going for it no matter what.

How many wins has Chase thrown away? One stat nobody wants, Chase is definately the undisputed World Champion.

Man Chase really reminds me of like the early tomac days on a 450. Mentally he just wasn't there.

If you’re old enough (like me 😢), it would remind you of the Bradshaw days.  Dude wanted to win and would just go for it, to hell with the championship.  I can respect the desire and drive to want to win every time, but the smarter guy will go for the big win (championship and $$$) every time! 🤷🏼‍♂️

Still a lot of racing to go.

#4 is clearly the fastest guy on the track, and that will USUALLY result in a championship.

I'm hoping that Suzuki and KS Ken will win the SX championship, and while possible, not likely.

It’s been mentioned multiple times by JT on pulp mx that sexton often goes through certain sections of a track and won’t have a finger on the clutch..

Wonder if this is something that comes into play.. I know JT was just as shocked.

My exact thoughts last night! The 19yr old kid, who is the king of sending it, knew to back it back it down cause he had the win. Meanwhile the guy in the big boy class throws it away. I've never had a rider frustrate me so much, that I'm a fan of. I might have to turn in my Section fanclub card. I was so disgusted I turned off the race before the podium interviews.

Chase's pressure is all internal. This has nothing to do with Webb.

Yes and this is so frustrating to watch. He is SO much faster than Webb and he knows that to, but yet he manages to fuck it up almost every round now and just give away free points to Webb.

I’m with you that the pass for the lead was more for Sextons ego, to get back on top again than what he is worried about Webb gaining momentum. Because if Chase delivers his 100%, Webbs 100% won’t be enough.

Yeah this isn't Kenny vs Coop. With the last lap passes and the finger guns and Coop is actually faster. I think there's only one rider in this field that Chase  actually put pressure on himself to beat and that dude is sitting out with a torn ACL. Jett is the only guy who puts doubt in Chase's head. He knows he's faster than the rest of these guys and he's making unforced errors.

Sexton never has any idea as to why recurring problems recur either. He never did figure out the Honda's front, and now the KTM stalling. He gets interviewed about the problems and he is dumbfounded. I can't imagine being a pro anything and the boss asking you why a problem keeps arising and you have no idea why. I wonder how Roger's bosses at KTM like him choosing Sexton over Webb anyways. Sexton's constant belly aching about the bike last year and now all these absent-minded mistakes this year are not a good look for the brand.

James has to be up there as well. Crash or win.

Chase sexton is the dumbest championship level rider I’ve ever seen.

Him jumping clear across the track into Webb isn’t even talked about because of all the other mistakes he made last night

Sitting down on the side of the track head in hands after giving away the points lead for an unneeded pass shows proof of imploding under pressure

I like Chase, but that was idiotic.

Just my 2 cents it may not have been the smart thing to do but he's a racer he was going for the win. I honestly like what he said in the press conference I know it might not be the smart way to look at it, but he's not built like that he wanted to win. Plain and simple. But what do I know I'm I'm just a guy sitting on the couch watching the race

That wasn’t pressure at all…. That was just being stupid.  He knows he’s the fastest, and it’s not that close.  I think he thought he could make a statement and it blew up on his face.

The pressure of not giving coop 2 wins on the night. He knows coop is an animal and he was afraid that if he settled for second that would give coop a huge confidence boost going fwd. If there was no pressure he would have just settled for second and took the overall. He knows how dangerous it is tho to let coop get 2 wins so he tried to force the issue and it bit him. The funny part is that by todsing it away and giving coop the win he gave coop even more confidence.

You’re entitled to your opinion, but even his comments after the race don’t support that.

Sexton had the win, and the points lead, by finishing second in that race.  It doesn’t give Webb anything.  He loses the red plate and is below Sexton on the podium.

Sexton sees a significant speed advantage and thinks he can make a statement by passing Webb.  He wasn’t pressured to do so, he desired to do so.  It was a dumb state of over confidence and a desire to win everything, even if it’s not needed.

He needs to reevaluate his strategy…

This one hurts more because he wasn't thinking big picture. To send it in with the lapper there and all. He talked about the bike but he was the fastest guy on the track.

He ran into Coop. He didn't crash being on the edge and dumping it. All mental

The real mystery is why anyone would expect anything different.

The fact that he keeps stalling over and over and over and wont make the change to ride with a finger on the clutch is crazy. Its like he expects the problem will just disappear if he does nothing. It doesnt work that way.

I think at this stage of his career, changing to finger on the clutch after riding for 18 years without is a non-starter. It seems like a small insignificant change, but its a very big change.

The only thing I'm concerned about is the way he handle it. Dust it off, learn from it, and move on. He will still most likely win the championship.

Does he learn from it?
He made similar mistakes in ‘23.

Chase needs to mellow it out a little bit …… because right now he is his own worst enemy.

Lucked into one SX Championship when the top two competitors ahead of him in the series with only 3 races to go had insanely freak situations happen to them and hand him the chip. Absolute head case. Just doesn’t have it mentally and he never will.

Dunge is my favorite rider of all time. Chase is my current favorite. It's a drastically different experience, I gotta tell you 😂 😂

Being able to change and adapt is a key ingredient to the Champion Mindset (tm). He might need to get a high level riding coach and be accountable to their direction.

I'm surprised he's never worked with Aldon, being at KTM. I feel like I remember Dunge saying working with Aldon really helped with his mental game

I’m not aware how much there is in common between the factory bike and production with regard to rear brake and clutch, but I will say that after 25+ years of Hondas and Kawasakis, I stalled my KTM more in the first few months than all my other bikes combined. That rear brake is very touchy, but it will also stall in places that make no sense whatsoever. And I ride with a finger on the clutch everywhere.

I have adapted for the most part (3 yrs in to KTM ownership), but it will still get me on occasion.
