Three races in- yes his career is over as we know it! 🤣

In all seriousness- after crushing everyone at outdoor and then at SMX I expected him to do the same these first three rounds- So yes it’s been underwhelming.

That being said, I expect by end of 2025 we will look back and see that overall he crushed everyone in the 250 class again

Good lord a-mighty.....have you guys lost yer minds?  There ain't nothing wrong with Deegan...any more than any other rider.  Tweaked a knee (who knows), got a girlfriend,  is constipated...got hit by life like everyone else but one thing I DO know...he's the best 250 rider in the country.  You all know it, too.😉

My gut says yes, but let's see how the rest of the SX season plays out.

I also wonder if JuJu and Davies are just shining bright, could those 2 be faster than the East guys?

It's a dirt bike discussion forum where (unironically) the discussion of popular riders will take place on a regular basis.

What do you suggest the OP should have posted instead?

And the Deegan camp knows it! That’s the reason Brian is already talking about the 4 year plan they had to win a championship so they take some pressure off for this year.

Of course he can still win and he might do but it’s not smooth sailing like expected.
And all the overriding of the bike is not going well with a 450. He needs to re learn his style for the 450

I'm simply looking for critical thought as to why RC's 125 career reminds you of Deegan's. This site is for conversation. You're in the wrong place if you want to post your thoughts without accepting replies and/or disagreements.

The whole 4 years program cracks me up.  So if HD would have won his first season what then?  The probability of injury in this sport doesn’t allow for a choreographed career.  If he doesn’t win this year and then gets hurt next year - now what .. he’s a 5 yr guy in 250s with declining stock…

Deegan - Stonger Outdoors than indoors... like RC

Deegan -  Won Outdoor title in Rookie year...and struggled in SX.. Like RC

The balls out all heart riding... like RC

The cocky looking over at people and playing games... like RC

Thats it. We are talking about 1.5 years of a professional career for each guy so if you are looking for some 3 paragraph comparison i cant give it to you.

Your counter argument is RC going undefeated his sophomore year and sure Deegan isn't winning every race but we aren't done yet either. Hence the 1.5 years to compare

Deegan - Stonger Outdoors than indoors... like RC - 100%

Deegan -  Won Outdoor title in Rookie year...and struggled in SX.. Like RC - Can't disagree with that

The balls out all heart riding... like RC - Again, agreed

The cocky looking over at people and playing games... like RC - I'll mostly agree with this. I think Deegan takes it to another level.

Your last paragraph is where I disagree. RC dominated every race he entered. Deegan is not the fastest guy at every round and is already past the point of claiming domination this year. Thanks for replying. There are a million ways to define the riders and comparisons can be built to make many of them similar. That's why I was curious about what you were thinking.

Ignoring the hype... I'm pretty whelmed. Never expected him to dominate this year's SX series at all.

I guess i just dont understand why you need the comparisons list when ONE thing is different. If 9 out of 10 things are the same ...

Like when you see a person and you say they remind you of someone else. I can say they have the same haircut, same color eyes, same skin tone, Same jaw line then someone is like Dude the nose is clearly different you IDIOT. Like ok bro.. yes one little thing is different but it can still remind me of the person.

Deegan didn’t win the outdoor title his rookie year, Hunter took the championship. He won it in his sophomore year like Dean Wilson I believe

Because RC's dominance in 98, which is the most impactful detail to me, is completely different than Deegan. Deegan is not someone I would compare to RC. Unless, you get granular like you did, but many riders share those traits. RC possesses a uniqueness that makes it difficult to compare him to anyone so, if someone says Rider X is like RC, the first thing I am trying to figure out is their interpretation of similarity. You're right though, something that reminds you of a person isn't always the same for others.

The Deeganites on here are fond of comparing Haiden to all the greats.  I've had to step in when people try to say he's the new Stew. Now it's the new RC! He's a great outdoor rider but is proving to be not that good at SX.  Perhaps all the Princess Brian and Haiden nut swingers on here can finally stop going on about his supposed rivalry with Jett.

Deegan didn't win the MX championship in his rookie year.

"Six podium finishes along with two wins, which led him to a 4th place finish in the championship, thus earning him the 2023 250MX Rookie of the Year award."

The comparisons to RC - and to Stew - are ridiculous. People forget how good those two were.

Just like the Deegan haters will discredit anything they can to make thier pee pee's seem bigger.

and just fyi.. Im rooting for JuJu or davies. Not Deegan. Just like i rooted for Pastrana over Deegan back in the day.

Im a fan of professional and fast over cocky/arrogant and fast

You guys lost me at the RC comparison. It’s not even close. RC was racing 250 SX at 19 and was a two time national champ closing in on Barnett’s record.

Yes, underwhelming and underperforming. Should focus less on the shit talk and excuse and more on racing. The other Star boys have zero issues with starting up front. Maybe next year he can duck Davies and ‘dominate’ in 250 regional sx.

He's 3 points out of the Championship lead, if that's underwhelming, then OK he's underwhelming. let see how the seeies plays out.

But the image he was working so hard on before the season was saying he'd be dominating.  He'd have so many more fans if he'd let his riding do the talking and shut his mouth and socials.

Honestly, Hymas looks faster, coming off of injury

Saying a rider looked faster when both riders weren’t even on the track together sure is some bait.
