Ordered a flywheel weight yesterday, should be at my house by the end of the week. Will be a while before it gets used as it’s currently snowing.

Didn’t know any were out yet.

They had 2 options. I ordered a whole flywheel instead of sending mine to them and adding the weight on mine.

Just tossed the Hydro clutch on my 24 Yz450, I'm wanting to get an after market lever for it, does anyone know what levers are compatible? I know Arc has some but I'm using ASV atm their site has the Magura/brembo but I'm not sure if those are correct. I reached out but they havent responded back yet due to the holidays.

Not sure if you were able to get a reply yet or not. I know its not ASV, but on the ARC website the hydro clutch lever part number is the same as the ktm brembo clutch part number. I have ordered at ARC one from a retailer under the ktm brembo listing as the yamaha listing is not an option. Ill confirm once ive installed, if you havent had a reply from ASV.

Has anyone been able to fit a small case battery into  YZ? I have one an AG 801 and try to place it in there, but the seat rails hit the battery and cannot get the seat to bolt on.

Yes, but with larger IMS tank, so maybe that’s not helpful.  It is a little tight length, wise, but height wise there is room with the IMS tank.

Any ride reporting?  With all those changes at once likely hard to tell what did what Smile

Just got a FP replacement as my stocker died on me a couple weeks back. Its smaller in width and requires some filler material to fit snugly. I used some leftover 3/8" rubber hose to place the battery on so the strap has reasonable tension. So far so good! Cranks a little faster than the stock battery.

French riders Matheo & Florian Moit's Team Yam Sand YZ450Fs at yesterday's Le Touquet beach race.

The coolest Yamaha graphic & gear combos I've seen in a while.

Hey does anyone know what specific adjustment in the power tuner app decreases the engine braking?

The linkage was first, once sag was set I noticed a difference in cornering.  I test the fcp race cups and pro circuit this coming weekend.

I'm going to try the flywheel weight. I ordered a new take-off from MX Locker that I am sending to Bundybuilt.

I thought I would put up an initial thoughts review for the guys on the fence or curious about the ‘25 knuckle without any other modification. I’m on my second revalve on the shock and at 75kgs I had already installed a 56n shock spring but found it too soft in certain situations but the 58n was too stiff in most conditions. I run 95mm sag so with initial installation sag measured 82mm so I wound off preload, went 4 softer on comp and out half turn on high speed. I noticed mid turn getting on the gas the bike would squat initially but then stay higher in the stroke keeping better bite on the front and soaking up bumps or holes on exit. High load situations like g-outs through whoops or jumping into rough sections I found I had more control deeper in the stroke allowing me to stay on the throttle whereas my previous setup up tended to blow through too far when it was under extreme load and be unpredictable. One unexpected improvement was slightly less head shake at speed, my guess is from an overall higher ride height keeping weight on the front? I ended up 3 clicks softer on comp and 1/4 turn softer on high speed from my original setup and was pretty impressed. Test conditions were really good as I raced the track 2 weeks ago and then had a practice day on Sunday where the track was only moderately prepped so a lot of the race line bumps appeared quickly and overall was rougher then your usual practice day. For my weight and speed it filled in the gaps from running the softer spring while avoiding the harsh negatives of the stock spring.

Ah, good to know!  How would you describe the differences you noticed?  Did you set your sag the same as before or different?

Asking as I have an REP linkage I'm waiting to install but north of you so won't be riding for a couple months.

I set sag at 103 and went up to cedar lake arena in Wisconsin, I instally noticed the bike was stuck to ground more and I feel cornered better even though it’s not for that.  I did feel I had a little better bump absorbtion also but I’m a vet rider so this all could be in my head too!

How often are you guys replacing the Belleville spring on the clutch?   I’m at 45 hours with the torque drive clutch.  I’m replacing it but is replacing the spring overkill?

That’s a fair replacement. If you’re in there, why not.

I didnt install the linkage, but I did get a rear spring for my weight from FC.  6.3kg spring for 215lbs, and set my sag at 100.  They recommend105-110 like most companies do today, but man at 100 the bikes turns on a dime and I have a lot of front end feel, I could push the front end on dry hard pack and know exactly what it ws doing and that it wasnt going to wash.  I lighted up my HS and LS compression just a click and quarter turn and the rear end feels less reactive now.  Overall just getting that spring rate correct really made a huge difference in balance and cornering.  Id imagine its about the same cost as the linkage and changing the spring on these bikes is easier then installing new linkage bearings lol.  I recommend everyone spend the extra 150$ on the xtrig preload adjuster and ditch the hammer and punch.

Has anyone tried the performance link from Ride Engineering, Pro Circuit or Factory Connection? Stock length is 142mm and those are 143.5mm. I bought a used one off eBay that the anodized coating was coming off and polished it up. I have new bearings but these were tight and had good grease

My bike has like 12 hours on it. I went through stock plates by 9 hours and put a new set of hinsons through an abusive weekend in the mud at red bud. Rode indoors a couple times recently and could smell the hinsons. Ill get a ride or two more then im doing hinsons upgraded spring and new steels and fibers for Daytona..

Zin, did you do anything to the forks or just the reae spring?

forks and shock were revalved for my speed/preference and fork springs were increased to .52kg(Stock is .51? i think) and at the time the shock spring was okay but i bulked up and put on some pounds, i was lazy an hesitant to make changes but swapping that rear spring for one appropriate for my weight made a world of difference in how everything worked together.

I was mentioning it because some people had said by going to the 25 linkage you can run a lighter weight spring(and get the sag correct), but on this bike swapping a spring takes like 20 mins with basic tools, and is cheaper then a new linkage plus bearings, and its easier then pressing in and greasing new bearings.  just trying to give people an option if swapping the spring seemed like a lot of work.  it isnt.

How much front tire feel do you have now with the races and engine mounts? What changes have you made that have increased this feeling the most for you? I am very curious on your feedback with the specific mods you have done. Also, how did you get that blue carbon end cap? That thing is sick!

I’m a Rekluse Torqu Drive snob.  That’s the first thing I change on everything except Ktm.   Stock to torque drive…..I’m at 45 hours and the clutch is still fine.  Are you guys losing the stock clutch at 10 hours?  Anyone drill out the clutch hub?
