Anyone else catch this on the pulp show with Keefer last night? I am 40 minutes in and he has made this statement 2 or 3 times about the "casual fan" not understanding first what a "tow" is and then not knowing what a base setting is. Does he seriously think people listening to the pulp show don't know what a tow or a base setting is?
Most of us have raced most of/if not our whole lives. Kind of insulting lol like I get what he's trying to do but seriously he's acting like people listening to this are like "wow! I never would've thought you can get behind a faster dude at the beginning of the race and catch a pace!" probably would be more helpful to the tv broadcast audience instead of pulp show.
The moto media thinks the fans are all flat brimmed, tattooed, pot head morons. Anyone else remember when the TV package was shit and Weege would go on and on about moto fans are too dumb to understand streaming? Or the recurring moto fans are never happy with any of the broadcasters? Or that the fans are too dumb to understand why 2T are basically outlawed on the pro level narrative? It goes on and on....
Thought the same thing, if we are tuning in to a 6hr show about MX and SX every week, we dont need to be explained to.
I found him less appealing than Darkside last week, if i am honest.
💯 plus many of the guest on the show imply we are a bunch of idiots because we haven’t been in the industry for 10-15 years…we’ve might not have had the success in the sport many of them have (or just the connections), but many have been around/involved in it just as long, if not longer, than they have. We also have other experiences outside of the sport that give us a perspective they either don’t have or choose to ignore, and to protect their fragile egos they just bury it by saying we don’t understand.
Phil immediately: "it's self explanatory..."

Yep and the other thread where someone asked why DC isn’t here anymore and some claim we ran him off. We just called him on his MavTv bs and unfortunately he couldn’t take the constructive criticism
I actually messaged JT about this very thing, how the moto media consistently insults the intelligence of the fans. The media doesn't seem to realize many of the fans are quite accomplished, bright people. Of course he never replied back, but I hope he got the picture. Honestly this kind of shit needs to stop, most of my riding buds don't even follow races for various other reasons, but stuff like this makes it harder to stomache yet. I mean what is with Keefer saying people can't understand something when he homself rocks jerk-off talk half the time.
"That's a good porn name, Nick Powers"
"Why don't you explain what a tow is, because people probably don't understand"
Hey man, do you think people listening to a 4 hour moto podcast don't know what a tow is when it comes to racing? WTF. Even Phil was like "it's self explanatory"
Keefer is a good dude and takes a lot of time for the average guy, but man this industry is a joke sometimes.
I've never found him appealing. He's revolting with his after dark bullshit. Queefer is a creep. As for the view of the fans held by the moto media? While there is definitely quite a few bro morons and hicks there are also a lot of fans accomplished in their fields who are far smarter than the so-called moto media. Matthes needs to pull his head in with this angle, it's getting tiresome.
Back to Queefer - look at the guy! Creep.
Maybe they need to do a separate show for "less informed" people and name it "Pulp 101" or something. The rest of the listening base can then be spared the kindergarten mentality in the "senior or graduate level" show.
There's nothing wrong with being less informed, BTW, as it gives starter listeners a place to work from as we "grow the sport".

After reading this article from him I take everything he says with a grain of salt. Nothing in this test is true at all, Luxon proved the "floating axle" theory is bunk....As does common sense. Saying he is not going to blow smoke up our ass, while simultaneously blowing smoke up our ass.
After listening to him during "claim gate" it became obvious that he was pro industry and full of shit.
Sounds like a bunch of people who are jealous they weren't smart enough to know that putting washers under the heads of their triple clamp pinch bolts would solve their handling woes.
Here is the Luxon Response to Keefer takes on engine hanger bolts and "floating" axle blocks:

They seem oblivious to the fact that without us they have no job lol. Some of these industry "insiders" seem like they come from a family deep inside Appalachia if you know what I'm saying
Uncle Dad? 🤔
Keefer is just a creepie red neck that doesn’t understand anything than moto and his weird takes on women.
He is the perfect old white man that knows nothing outside his small universe and at the same time he thinks he is the smartest in the room.
The irony being that so many 'in the industry' have next to zero marketable skills outside of mx connections. The insiders of the sport should have more respect for the consumers that pay their bills.
His stuff is good.
I have done a lot of bolt testing over the years, they are the things that cause the most failures , for all sorts of reasons, but when something is tight, its tight.
I do remember Steve Dixon saying that Zacho could tell when his bike was getting 'loose' and they would retorque all the motor mount bolts, as they would lose clamp load as he revved the thing so hard.
The best bolts cost a lot of money, and most of them are not Ti.
Pit Row
The Luxon dude is the rare engineer who also has great communication skills, so an idiot like me can understand what he's explaining.
There's the slanderous comment from Hairlicker I knew would be here.
He is , his website is very good.
We always used thread rolled bolts, and on high load applications, we undercut them where they ran out in to the shank, on steel bolts it was a huge improvement, at a level we did not expect to see.
You guys listen to the pulp show?
I guess i’m most people… what the heck is a TOW?
It's NBC dumbing down the sport with a NASCAR phrase. "In tow" referring to one car directly behind another using less energy to go the same speed.. Similar to them blabbing p1 p2 , playoff this playoff that, sector 1 sector 2, blah blah blah.. Trying to fit in where they don't belong.
When there is a rider going faster in front of you and you catch on to his pace and perhaps lines.
Did yiu ever follow someone over a jump to get the speed down? They “towed” you over the jump….I sometimes race Gncc”s and hare scrambles, because I don’t race enough of them, I”m not good at picking up the trail markers, If I get behind someone who is about my ability or even slightly faster, I can keep pace with them or be “towed” by their pace….
At the same time media types like Weege and Matthes state moto fans are too fucking dumb to understand broadcasting is difficult and we should all give RC a break because we couldn't possibly understand a difficult career choice.
No slander involved as it's the truth.
Maybe it's drafting in NASCAR, in tow might be f1.. which would make sense with Ricky taking notes from leigh difffffyyyy in the booth
Enjoyed reading Luxon”s facts compared to Keefers socal bro review…something tells me keefers will say whatever to get free product for his race program…….pitchforks out and sharpened 😂…
