I always wondering what if Jeremy could have complete in 1999 X Games freestyle would have happened? Personally I believe he would take Bronze medal if he was serious about it and had trained much.

He would have been a freestyle super star at the county fair race intermission with those moves!
He was Showtime where it mattered most then, and now...... On a racetrack
The #1 plate is far more impressive then any fmx trick or contest win.
Lots of new accounts lately

Freestyle is a clown show spectator sport. McGrath has more talent in his pinkie finger than Twitch or most of those fools combined.
Corner for dough, jump for show.
Would you care to elaborate?
I don't agree with a clown show my friend, freestyle gave us so many memories and emotions. Personally it makes me sad that is not anymore like it used to be.
r/motorcross is leaking, or Tyler is having a laugh
Its pretty telling that brian deegan, the 2nd biggest fmx guy of all time, pointed his kid in the direction of racing racing motocross and supercross instead of freesstyle. In the glory days freestyle was cool, and back when pastrana did the double backflip the whole world was on the edge of their seats. These days though its completely dead.
I’m as deep in moto as you can get and I couldnt tell you who the top fmx guys are today unless its a few of the same old guys. If you were able to get in when it was new and fresh like travis and brian you could make a killing and become a huge star, but today its dead. Once it became a thing where they did a back flip on every single trick it took the magic away and its been gone for a while. I think mcgrath made the best decision he ever could have. Its pretty funny theres a video on youtube of james early in his career saying that once hes done racing he could see himself doing some freestyle. LOL. Imagine that.
Totally agree. I wasn' meant to stop Supercross, Jeremy could compete in X Games because he wasn't racing every outdoor race after 1996 if I'm not wrong.
Was cool to watch but after the tp720 I stopped watching, maybe because I started to travel. Now it's easy to watch on all the app streaming available.
I agree! I am also old and cranky 👍
Nope.
Come on, tell us why.
These days freestyle motocross (as a competition)and quads are about on par…now, free riding in the hills, and whatever it is that axel Hodges does…that’s still cool.
A lot of Australian guys keep doing massive tricks and lately some Spanish guys also. Yes the competitions are not like the old days but I'm hoping this year in X Games Sacramento we will see a big fmx course.
Why not ?
Love that MC could freaking do anything with style.
Pit Row
If X games wasnt held more than once a year the clown show might have survived and even thrived.
Whoever purchased the event and decided to make it multiple events a year has a lot to answer for, they essentially ripped the heart out of extreme sports. Once upon a time - an X games medal would ensure an athlete a good income and top tier sponsors - when the idiots made it multiple events per year all value was instantly lost as you had clowns with no talent getting lots of medals.
If your into fmx or free riding . The best ever vid is McGrath & crew riding at Guy Cooper,s place. Out takes of Steel Roots. It’s on yt.
MC respected the heck out of those guys.... he'd ridden with Cinqmars a bunch (rip) and cinq would usually jump things first.
Random as heck thread, though.
I have watched all. My favorite MC freeride clips was when he rode with Cinqmars and in Maany's Yard

Jeremy pretty-much invented the entire freestyle movement with the nac-nac. It was the first novelty-trick unleashed on stadiums full of fans. Fans would rush down the aisles with their cameras during his intro to catch a coveted pic of their hero busting out his signature move.
Pfffftt...... we started that fad. The King had nothing on me....
😂
Barcelona Supercross 1994 the King with some moves

I’m old but the first time I saw MC throw a big Nac over a SX triple live is forever etched into my brain. Parade laps where so cool.
To answer the OP question, he may have made the finals with his 4-5 tricks, but that's it. Didn't learn seat grabs till 2001.
You just can’t tell who’s the best since the US is not having any top 10 rider left.
I mean back in the days it was different but these days…
