Early back and forth between Tomac and Jett

Anyone seen any footage of it? When Eli passed Jett in the sand, they had already gone back and forth a time or two.

The live coverage was more concerned with staying on Chase riding through the whoops by himself after he went down followed by an immediate replay.

Here's all I've come across:

wow man...thanks for sharing this.

It's pretty f**kin sad that someone sitting in the stands gives far better coverage of the racing action than the so called "professionals".

Lot of early action we never got to see.

You won’t go to races and you constantly complain about the production. There is no pleasing you.

Thanks for that! It was even better than I expected!

So there was a total of 5 passes between the two of them and the broadcast (and subsequent replays and highlights) only showed one of them. Amazing.

Thanks @montlake91 and good pickup @SPYGUY so much happening in those first couple of laps.
I thought Tomac’s pass around the outside in the sand was awesome, but then we get to see Jett had already done the same. Great back n forth.

Just want to point out a few fallacies in your judgment here:

Shooting from the floor, or even from the lower levels of the stands, is very difficult. You can really only see the section you're positioned in. It’s simply not feasible to film entire laps effectively in this manner.

Professional media isn’t supposed to be halfway up the stadium, interrupting the experience and view of paying fans.

We’re bound by many stringent rules designed to protect NBC and their partnership with Feld. We’re not permitted to post long, chronological clips of the races. Those rights are reserved for FELD and NBC—and rightfully so. A media outlet’s job is to provide supplemental coverage, not to compete with it. For example, we aren’t allowed to post any clip longer than 45 seconds until 72 hours after the race has aired.

If FELD were to see the iPhone clip you posted, it would get copyright flagged immediately.

Magoober gonna Magoober.

I'm almost certain at one point during his bitching about Bondo or the production or Peacock or ..... that he claimed he wasn't even gonna watch the races anymore.

Yet.... here he is clearly watching.

Here's all I've come across:

Yea, I knew of tomac passing jett twice, only because I was watching them in the background...I'm Used to doing this because the coverage is so friggin bad.

But yea I had seen tomac get around him once, and then a couple corners later jett was back around and then we all saw the infamous sand corner pass

So again, this series is touted as being one for the ages over and over by the production team, and when you literally have Tomac and Jett going back and forth you can't even show it in a split screen at the very least? Makes sense.

Thanks for that clip man, I would have never have known they went back and forth like that. Tomac completely closing Jett down in the corner after the whoops was incredible.

Someone in the stands got lucky that they had their camera pointed at the right people at the right time. How many people in the stands didn't catch this with their cameras?  Most of them.

Or someone in the stands with a camera knew who and what to follow, as opposed to the broadcast director.

Reminds me of the 2014 Toronto SX, I was in the stands and got to watch Stew pass every single rider on the track from his last place start in turn 1. The production didn't pick him up till he was inside the top 10. He was quading past 2 or 3 guys at a time it was crazy they didn't catch it. When I got home at the end of the night and watched the replay it was so disappointed how much they missed, but super glad I went in person.

As a fan I had no idea that many passes took place prior to the “one” out side sand berm pass.

That simple statement shows how poor the production crew is covering the race.

Maybe a couple fix mounted tripods around the stadiums so they can at least go back to wide angle footage to show as replays.

That was outstanding!!!

Just as I'm listening to Title 24. I felt the exact same way RC did. That race reminded me of 2001 A2 with MC and RC going at it and the King came out on top. I definitely don't think Tomac's race wins ends there. He is a force to be reckoned with this year and those boys have their hands full only 2 rounds in. WHAT IF... ET3 doesn't tip over at A1? He's 8 more points up and currently on a 2 race win streak to start '25...Pretty crazy.

This post deserves ts own thread so everyone will find it. Amazing video. Crazy to think you captured the race better than peacock with all their expensive cameras and drones. Great!

You guys are making all these statements with the benefit of hindsight.  When the race starts 99% of the time you focus on the leaders. Which was coop and roczen. What if they had run away with it and Jett and Eli weren’t a factor?
If you want to see all of the action go to the damn race. You’ll never see everything in a broadcast. They can’t film 6-10 riders at once.

Come on man, is it not reasonable to request that a crew come to his actual house and provide coverage and food, get treated like dogshit and then go on their merry way after mowing his lawn? 😄

You don’t need hindsight to know it’s a good decision to focus on Eli or Jett. And did a great job too. Heads up thinking.

And they did we saw Eli come through the pack we saw him pass Jett, Malcolm, Kenny -and Webb(I think). Yea they missed some stuff on the first few laps cause they are focused on the leaders which is pretty much SOP.
Again this is all hindsight because you know what happened.

That was awesome. Neither started very well and let's not forget that 3&1 beat everyone by almost 20 secs by the end.

Awesome footage! I knew we were missing something in the broadcast because the crowd kept going crazy. Shame they didn't catch this battle but glad someone did.

Tomac clearly was a lot faster early in the race. Props to Jett for hanging on long enough to pick up lines and stay with Eli
