Edit: Same rules apply but now it's for the championship. I'm sticking with Roczen for the championship pick as well.
Pick your long shot for the A1 win....you cannot pick any of the following riders:
Tomac
Jett
Sexton
Webb
I haven't been paying attention in the off season so I have no idea who's going fast, but I'll go with Roczen. I realize guys like Kenny, Anderson, or Barcia shouldn't be considered long shots for A1 but I gotta leave some options other than the 4 favorites above.

21
Anderson or Hunter would be my "outside the scope" picks to win A1
Mookie!
Anderson
The Shop
Luxon 4-Post Bar Mounts
$189.95 - $239.95
DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
The fires might make surprise appearance
Prado
Prado. We know he is fast but I don’t think anyone is expecting him to win.
Prado ….
Long shot??
Colt45
Long shots?
Juju and if were saying any of the roster you listed aren’t allowed, Roczen or Hunter Lawrence. But I would say Webb is a long shot for an A1 win. Not that he isn’t capable of winning but if Webb comes out and wins A1, I WOULD be surprised.
I get kind of annoyed with the whole “if RACER wins, I wouldn’t be surprised” thing because that label is slapped on to too many riders. If Anderson wins, I would be surprised. If Mookie or Plessinger wins I would be surprised. Honestly, if anyone besides Jett, Chase or Eli wins A1, that will be surprising. I think the “can win” umbrella is a media safe space not to piss anyone off.
I don’t want to pick from the list of guys with multiple wins, or even previous champs like JA21. Just don’t seem like true long shots to me…
Prado
Beaumer
JCoop
I was surprised no one had picked him yet. Pretty sure last year he was at the top or near the top of qualifying at times, so he just needs consistency.
No Plessinger or Barcia picks yet?
JC
Fastest qualifier once (Anaheim 2).
“Schlong Shot”
Bam
Anyone but Jett, unfortunately.
Pit Row
Plessinger
Yep, I was there. He was also up there very close at some other rounds, I think he got a couple 2nd or 3rd place finishes and I also remember him winning group 1 qualis as well.
Joey Savatgy...long longshot.
GL on Dongalos. 😄
😉
Its so obviously Prado. A1 is always weird. Prado for his first and only SX win. I would bet on it if I had any money.
Anderson. Mookie. Hunter. KR. J(ason) Lawrence.
My long shot? Public Safety Power Shutoff. LA fires look ugly, Orange County is one the power safety shutoffs being considered, see below. If Edison starts dropping power the races, out of an abundance of caution, will most likely be postponed. Fingers crossed for A1.

Should be fine in OC as the winds should stop by tomorrow night. But let's pray for everyone else as it's getting really bad. This is the driest start of winter we've had since 1964 and this wind event is the worst we've had in 10 years. Many poor people are losing their homes as we speak and we have 24 more hours of extreme winds. You simply cannot fight these fires and they will burn all the way to the ocean.
Justin cooper or hunter
Ruling out the four likely winners, I’ll go with the probables vs possibles.
Probable:
Ando- winning after a few years without one would be news, but not surprising.
Roczen- as above- news not surprising.
Plessinger- he’s shown the speed from time to time, but winning A1 would be big.
Possible:
Barcia- would be surprising after not really being close last year.
Hunter- would be a huge turnaround after not qualifying at the last A1.
Mookie- also surprising after never getting it done before.
Cooper- was great as a rookie, can he make the next step?
I feel anyone else would be shocking, not surprising.
Roczen!
