I’m not going to lie it’s a lot of bullshit now. But the main content is still worth listening to. Lots of insightful guys with lots of info if you sit through it.
I used to listen to every episode for a long time, and now haven't for probably at least a year. It's 2 hours of content hidden in 5 hours of bullshit.
The last episode was basically a Renthal commercial. I love Renthal, but it was just too much. I'm kinda surprised if the listening numbers (for whole episodes or at least 80% of the episode) hasn't declined the last 1-2 years. Same people, same overplayed inside jokes, more and more commercials and infomercials etc.
With that said. Some content in the 5h show is very good, so usually i listen to a specific part of the show if the topic or person is interesting. And the show is free, so i guess we shouldn't complain.
In Steve's defense, the landscape has changed. In the early years, Steve was the only game in town and he would dish some dirt and rumors from time to time. It was mind blowing when he dropped some inside info. Watson's stories were epic too. Now social media is more prolific and there are lots of other pods and I think people in the industry are more careful with what they share. So pulp is no longer the "hot take" source it once was. Not Steve's fault.
As for the overabundant advertising, well I can't speak to that. It sucks. No two ways about it.
I love most podcast shows about moto and Pulp is one of them, It was a bit much to hear more about Renthal in the second part of this weeks pod literally had to turn it off.
I've not listened since the Nations this year. He bashes MXGP (and rightly so in a lot of cases) but when they offer him the stage for a podcast he takes it and I'm sure he didn't do it for free.
To be fair to him he’s putting out content when there’s very little to talk about , yer it was heavy on the rental side but why not ? I’d get it if there was loads of shit to be talked about and he didn’t cover it but currently there’s very little going on
We usually listen to it on the way to and from the track as we usually have a few hour ride one way. Sometimes I tune out but I still mostly dig the interviews and tidbits of info. Phil is always a must listen of course. The only time I will absolutely turn it off is the stupid mandarin garbage. It’s not really clever or funny. Thankfully that’s rare.

It sure has gotten to be a Bro down. Matthes's show is a male version of a bunch of old hens standing around a close line. I try to see if he has anything interesting to listen to when I work out, if he doesn't (which is more and more often) I don't. That being said I just watched a regional arena cross of some kind on FXS2 last night, Daniel Blair was announcing and on point, what a waste he is not on the SX broadcasts.

Matthes said at the beginning it was basically going to be a Renthal commercial since they chose to announce the lock on grips on his show.
But hey.....ya'll go ahead and cry like bitches about it even though you were told that's the way it would be.
Nothing like complaining about a FREE show with McGrath, Norfolk, Payton during the off season with 5 hours of content. The grip stuff was a bit much, but he said it would be a large part of the show and the fast forward option works great.
What other moto podcasts do people listen to? I like the fact that he interviews riders during the season. The shows right now are basically filler before the season starts. I wish somebody did an off-road pod like his with racer interviews.
I like the show and will continue to listen but Steve comes across as a dick to me. He is routinely rude to callers and on social and at times I don’t think it’s warranted.
The grip stuff contest was funny. I skip the commercials and listen to every minute of every show. Great free content. Mitch MC and Skip together was great!

Mitch Payton and Jeremy McGrath were on the show this week. It's the off season. It's free. Seems OK to me.....

Used to listen every week, now I just watch the shorts that interest me on YouTube. Thanks Marx, you're the real MVP.
It’s offseason, not as much to talk about.

That said, ill be listening next week.

It’s free to listen and Steve still has to pay the bills. Not sure how you’d like him to get around this?
More like 30 minutes …
The Mandarin should host a full show
I enjoyed it, as usual. Great crew with good discussions (between the heavy adverts but not hard to zone out).
Didn't finish last week's and I figured this week would be a giant Renthal ad. Just don't listen to the parts that bore you.
Everyone is selling you something, I prefer it when it's just up front about what's being sold and why.
His friend group is shrinking quickly. He has the same guys on month after month. Same stories month after month.
It’s getting old quick.

Pit Row
I could seriously listen to Mitch tell stories all day long...

Steve could have Jesus H. Christ on and people would still bitch.

“Hey guys, I don’t like this podcast.”
Thread of the year contender.
Yep, Mitch is a must listen.
He's low key funny too.
OP is a big Cooksey fan.
Hey Phillip, are you worried about the markets ups and downs? Brian Stone is a former racer that can help you navigate your funds through the changes.
I like the show and will continue to listen but Steve comes across as a dick to me. He is routinely rude to callers and on social and at times I don’t think it’s warranted.
It’s weird that we don’t have the “he’s giving you free content! Quit crying!!” folks in the Gypsy threads.
