Ed Oliver is a Defensive Lineman for the Buffalo Bills. On Monday he took his Stark out for a ride in some fresh snow to celebrate the Bills win on Sunday.

I wonder what the cold does to battery life?
I wonder what 285lbs worth of rider in 12 inches of snow does to battery life.
With a $68 million contract he can do whatever he wants.
I wonder what a helmetless crash would do to your $68 million contract.

I wonder if anyone gives a crap....
(pre-emptive: "Yet here you are")
Who cares
Actually, a bunch of those big sports contracts bar the athletes from activities like motorcycling.
They bar them from doing anything fun/"extreme". The teams just don't want to be on the hook for all of that money if you break yourself on a motorcycle or sky diving or something like that.
Yes... very true.
The first big time incident I remember was when Rob Deer (power slugger for The Milwaukee Brewers back in the day) "crashed his ATV". This was back in the mid-late 80's- so its been around awhile.
It turns out he actually crashed riding a Harley on the road and banged himself up pretty good prior to spring training one year. I can't recall all of the specifics- but he did have a clause in his contract the forbade him from riding a motorcycle. I think he claimed that it was an ATV accident in an attempt to skirt the cause in his contract that he technically wasn't on a "motorcycle" when it happened... LOL!! You cant blame him for trying!!
Ironically I watched On Any Sunday the other night in honor of Malcolm Smith's passing and there is the part where they relate Steve McQueen having to call the studio to tell them he had broken his leg and couldn't film a movie...
^McQueen often raced under the pseudonym "Harvey Mushman" to avoid the studios finding out.
Stark and the NFL - that's actually a great match. 🤔
Didn't Jeff Kent back in the day have a "I fell off my bicycle" moment too? 😁
Anyways. I like it. Looks like he is having fun. He should get a long rope and a saucer sled and pull his homies around the property.
Jeff Kent grew up riding dirt bikes in SoCal, and opened up a couple of Motorcycle Dealerships in Texas about 20 years ago.
He got hurt riding a MX bike while in MLB. Hurt his ankle while riding but reported that he fell off a step latter while washing his truck
What I've seen is the crappiest and most uninteresting Stark vid in quite a while.
I still wonder how it deserved its own thread.
🤣
Awesome!
"I fell off a step ladder". I'll have to add that to my What to say at the ER playbook. 😃
Funny story about Ed...
When our 18 year old son was diagnosed with leukemia in 2018, I arranged a tour of the University of Houston Athletic Department for him and had him attend a football practice. A wide reciever on the team used to race MX and took lessons from me back in the day. He shared with us the Ed Oliver would sometimes bring his CR250 to campus and do wheelies around U of H. This was Ed's Junior year and he was projected to be a top pick in the first round of the 2019 draft. Ethan ended up meeting Ed and shared some of his riding videos with Ed. Ed was impressed and asked if they could ride together some day. Thats when my wife got in Ed's face and told him NO. She said, "Ed, you are about to sign a HUGE contract in a few months, you can't get hurt on a motocross bike". Ed looked at her and with discuss but backed off. My son was pretty disappointed too! But it worked out pretty well for Ed, as he was selected 9th overall a few months later by the Bills.
BTW, my son who won a couple of Regional moto's but crashed and didn't qualify for Loretta's prior to getting sick in 2018, spent 600 days off his bike while battling leukemia. Started riding again in late 2020. Went to the Regional in 2021 with some unfinished business and was running 3rd in the finial moto on the last lap. 45 seconds away to his first trip to Loretta's and crashed braking his collar bone. That was in the C class. It crushed me more than it did him, after all he had been through. Turned B in 2022 and qualified for College Boy (A/B class) that year.
Ben Roethlisberger had a bad crash on a Harley back in 2009 maybe?
Fernando Tatis broke his wrist riding a dirt bike or maybe motorcycle last off season. If your a good enough player even if the clause is in your contract the team will kind of look the other way.
Aaron Boone tore his acl playing basketball in the off season. It resulted in A-rod being signed to the Yankees which in turn helped the Red Sox win there first World Series in 86 years.
Pit Row
And didn’t McGrath have a clause in his contract with Honda that prohibited him from riding a JetSki?
No , they tried to say he cant ride anything that's not a Honda even when Honda didnt make a jetski. Honda also tried to copyright his name and image so that's when he switched brands. Honda even thought because they waited so long to do up his new contract that he would have to stay on honda but he still told them to piss off.
I thought that Kent claimed that he got hurt climbing out of his truck or something like that.
Hope the Stark does better than the cybertruck
It wasn't that Jeremy couldn't ride a jetski, it's that Honda didn't make one.
Lostboy and avidchimp,
Very true and I had forgotten about that. Man, I miss that era!
What is "Bricked itself"? Do i need to add that to my EV dictionary behind "Range Anxiety"?
As I understand it, it’s an electronics/IT term for an electronic device becoming useless, often after a software update, etc. in other words it turns into a brick.
I'd like to see Ed go a lot faster in his yard on that bike. Like just pin it and go for broke. Oh, and continue riding without a helmet too. One last thing, Gooo C H I E F S!!!!!!!
Roethlisberger was on a Hyabusa
I used to run into Jeff riding at Cycle Ranch sometimes when I'd go out on a weekday afternoon. He was still playing ball at the time. That was back in the day when Mike Pitts was still running the show before Cycle Ranch became a "lifestyle destination"🙄
