Stuff like that shouldn’t happen at that level of racing. I can imagine Dacka was frustrated 😆
Savatgy absolutely dropped Rozcen, surprising.
Track breaking down a lot today , those whoops will be nasty by the super final
Yeah that was a big one. It's obvious you didn't sue over that. Good on you and your boy for battling on and still racing. I wish the same could be said for others!

Actually the track is holding up decently.
Whoops are already nasty - no-one, including Tomac and Roczen, has been having an easy time through them.
Welcome to some relatively boring photos taken with an iPhone 12.
I went to park in the same place as yesterday, only to find council staff everywhere dishing out expensive parking tickets. An expensive outing got a lot more expensive for a few people.
So, stuff it... I snuck the bike into a carpark. 2019 Husqvarna 701 SM. Those Moose Racing covers go over the Acerbis Supermoto aluminium handguards and are great for keeping cold air off my hands in winter (which is now over, so I should put the covers away).
Got the worst hamburger in the history of the universe here yesterday. $A45 for a hamburger, serving of fish and chips, bottle of water and bottle of Pepsi. Quite possibly the first time in my life that I didn't even try and finish the burger.
Upstairs was almost full on Day 1 but roughly half full on Day 2.
The bike number is 45 so that would be Colt Nichols. He was out for the rest of the day.
Colt Nichols was taken away on a stretcher. He ended up being taken to nearby Royal Perth Hospital for observation.
26.6 (ie 80F) is moderate for Perth. Summer officially starts next Sunday and we'll regularly hit days of 40 (104F) upward. Riders would have been sweating a lot today.
The finishing line jump had a very sharp lip. That one required a commitment. Roll over it at walking pace or hit it hard and make sure you get enough airtime to make to teh second jump.
There was a bit of dust at one point, but then they brought out a water truck and hoses. There was much less dust after that.
After every couple of races a team of bobcats came out to patch up the track.
Sand. Very sandy.
The view from the upper pavilion - the afternoon sun was making it extremely difficult to see.
Bike 16 (Enzo Lopes) rolled over the finishing line jump and then just stopped. It was carried off the track (ie seized transmission?).
Dean Wilson had a minor crash and didn't rejoin that race.
Ken Roczen, Eli Tomac and Joey Savatgy.
After the event this guy spent forever trying to kickstart the Suzuki RMZ of Derek Kelley and was failing miserably. The crowd watching was giving him flack for it. Eventually someone else came over and got it running on the second or third kick. If only there was some sort of device that the factory could fit that would make the bike easier to start. I love to reminisce about the old days but I don't miss kickstarting four-strokes.
When I got home I was checking something on Flightradar24 and noticed that a Gulfstream G600 was coming in to land. Does anyone know if any of the riders leased a private jet to get back home again?
I’ll clean up that post when I get home in a few hours.
Probably shouldn’t quit my day job to become a pro photographer
Holy shit… Tomac got a bad start. He and Roczen swapped places a bunch of times.
Savagty won. Then Roczen. Tomac third.
GP Race 2 was awesome. Great battles with Dean, Joey, Ken and Eli. They're out there searching for grip and it's gnarly.
They were making a name for themselves again with nice tracks, good racing but someone's mistake is killing their credibility.
They need to find a way to make it up to Moss and his team, purely unacceptable, sure the event is high pace, not much time between races but how hard can it be to add points from 3 races? I wonder if that's someone doing the calculation on the back of an envelope? Can't they just feed the results into a simple excel file in race direction? Costly error of copy/paste?
That was an amazing race, I think they held each other up battling and let Savatgy get away.
Not sure of the logic here…
They’ve just spent ten minutes doing track maintenance. The rhythm lanes and turns have been holding up nicely but the whoops are breaking down badly. However they haven’t touched the whoops and have been busy on track sections that barely needed it.
So early today? Fuck..
Glad I can rewind the stream!
Yeah not sure why - the sun has only just disappeared off the track.
Not sure if they mentioned this, but I'm curious about Reid Taylor's situation in the SX2 class. In Saturday night's last SX2 race, his Empire Kawasaki failed on the start line, and the next night, he's on a CDR Yamaha. Anyone know what happened?
Early wrap up on Sunday so people have more time to go back home before Monday morning alarm rings?
At least that's what they do at Paris SX. Saturday is more party and gets sold quickly, Sunday is more family friendly hours.
Quite a few guys getting taken out by the cardboard box covers today, rediculous
Dean Wilson just crashed out.
Been about five or six that I’ve counted.
Pit Row
Crazy, they have been a real problem today
I’m guessing that noise restrictions will be part of it - plenty of private housing nearby.
I think Kenny got one top 5 start this weekend against a field like that? I don't know if they changed anything on the bike (apparently new suspension), but I hope they figure out and find whatever they're searching for so he can be in the mix again when A1 starts. We know he isn't on Tomacs level currently but it's still weird to see. I really thought they would battle more upfront.
Tomac looks like he's hauling and having fun. He's gonna be scary good next year I think. Good luck to every rider next year going up against Jett and Tomac.
Haha wasn't really meant as a complaint, I just wasn't aware of the schedule
You can barely hear anything outside the stadium. But you never know these days
Early Sunday events are normal. Same goes for NRL and I assume ARL. As Beagle said, more suited for Monday morning work
Took my family to todays event and they had a great time. They are not big moto fans, so wsx is doing something right. Watching Tomac in person was a highlight. He is just a beast on that bike and to see him race a world class supercross in Perth is pretty special. I will say I enjoy the format. No heats and Lcq’s just fast paced racing for points all night (afternoon!) long. The second 450 race was amazing and my partner was shouting and jumping out of her seat… like I said, she’s not even a big moto fan, the excitement was real.
Aranda had a great week-end in Perth. He deserves to be given by a decent US team an opportunity to race a few AMA SX next year in 450cc category!
Injury replacement for cdr , he rode well
Photos from yesterday (ie Round 2):
Sure he could get some decent results, he's on par with top 10-15 AMA guys racing here.
That would be a terrific experience for him but I'm afraid this boat has sailed, he's 35.
I watched most of the races on YouTube today and I was pleasantly surprised. Some good racing, and i liked that the whoops broke down and slowed things down. Kinda reminded of whoops from the 90s where riders tried various ways of getting through them, and it also provided a lot of passing. The finish line jump was cool too.
