Just did a demo day here yesterday and got to ride one.  Chassis was fine but that motor was garbage.  Ok off the bottom but then just goes completely flat.  2 of us literally said the same thing felt like a rag in the air box. Not nearly as much in the guts department as the 250 Husky rode back to back.

I would say your experience is representative of the dyno curve. Somehow Swap’s testers seem oblivious to it.

lol.  Motor is definitely not garbage. Since everyone loves to form opinions based on what they read, check out Keefers opinion (pretty well known and good test rider). He says the Triumph likes to rev. Who knows. If you’re one of those riders that likes to ride off the rev limiter maybe it’s not the bike for you…or shift.

Sometimes liking to rev is a bi-product of mush in the middle.

Shows how subjective it is.  I watched that shootout too, they loved the motor, and only a few comments on how it signed off early.

The most bizarre part to me was when they said the biggest problem with the Kawasaki was it's lack of bottom end. I mean since '21 they have never complained about it lacking bottom but they redo the whole engine for more bottom and it got worse?

Track conditions maybe?   Why I've always favoured a shootout done on several tracks.

IMG 6626I have one of these and a 22 crf250 also a 23 kx250 and have ridden back to back with a 24 yz250f… motor is definitely not garbage. I’m 220lbs for reference and also have a 23 450rwe..

I watched a local int kid holeshot all of the recent 250’s in multiple motos on a local level on a 100 yard start straight that was tilled deep.. it makes competitive power.  Stock map sorta sucks I agree.. need the akropovic map in there to wake it up.  Couple small changes and it’s a great bike.  Need the valving stiffened up for how big I am now that I’ve broke it in. I have sprung it for my weight. Added a tooth. Bars, yamaha shifter.  110 rear tire because it needs it.

only complaint is there’s not a PC Ti-6 available for it yet!

Does that mean they won’t be discounting bikes?

I know the dealer out by me has 2024's discounted 1k from list. now 8995.00

I'm considering the new bike. I come from religiously riding Honda and that's about it. I just recently moved and there is a triumph dealer literally 45 seconds from me and the temptation is growing. Looking for honest opinions on it thus far. Bonus points if I can find someone in the NE Ohio area with one

Wait a couple of years.

2025s are unchanged.

Mapping is changed. Much improved. Probably smarter not to change the bike up though. Better for parts availability.

I wonder if the mapping will be available to those with the 24’s and the WiFi module.

22 Crf250 is a low-mid power, putting the yoshimura moved it up a bit. Made it better.
23 Kx250 is mid and up likes to run on top.
24 yz250f has a good all around motor Still the best in class imo. I like the triumph chassis better but it’s close.
The triumph pulls as hard off the bottom as the yz or very close, close in the mid maybe not as much top but it will rev out. The yz I rode had a pc pipe.

Well I was not the only one.  It was the consensus with everyone I talked to it just went flat.  Big time compared to the Husky and every other 250 I've ever rode.  Anyway that's what we all felt and my opinion.

Pay no attention to the Kool-Aid Kids. I mean who would trash the bike that Ricky built. Anybody remember when he said the new RMZ was much improved?

I believe it's basically the Akrapovic map that is already available.

Has triumph put any rebate on these yet?

I just got my Triumph a month ago. 3.8 hours on it so far and I love it. Zero complaints except I'm not loving the tires that came on it and the difficulty of finding any aftermarket parts.

Keep in mind Ive only been riding for a couple years so I'm a slow vet track rider. First bike was a 2013 CRF250R and I also have a 2005 YZ125 I rebuilt. so any new modern bike probably would've been amazing to me.

I should also mention I don't have the WiFi tuner. Only things done to it are disc guard and skid plate.

I've ridden mine all summer.  Hare scrambles, motocross, and a lot of trail riding.  Love the bike, but I've had trouble with stalling it, once off a jump face and planted myself pretty hard.  No issues riding my son's 24 YZ250F.  Turned up the idle but still does it.

Which do you like best the triumph or 24 yz250f?

I like how the Triumph turns all while being more stable.  Low end feels like it has significantly more torque.  Yamaha comes onto the power much faster and revs quicker and the suspension is so plush.  I think mapping needs help on the triumph and I didn't want to spend the extra $200.  Comes standard on the Yamaha.  Yamaha was a couple grand cheaper but I wanted one of the first Triumphs to hit the market so I WAY over paid for that.

Why do you need to spend $200 for TF250X mapping?
