Shimoda lines up in the IA1(450cc) class just north of Tokyo this weekend, Oct 28 & 29. Rd7 will be a 15-minute three-moto format for both IA1 & IA2 classes. Looks like a lot of effort put into the track and the rain seems to be holding off. Anticipating Jo will pull a decent crowd for a Japanese national.

At least he'll finally win something.
I was thinking he was having a lot tougher time since he switched to the Honda. I looked back at his results and realized that he always only wins a race or two every season. Heās never really been a strong title contender.
That's how he's sold every year by most media, pro or social.
And yet, I feel he's overrated. Not that he's not fast, but even moto wins are scarce... Of course, right now, everybody looks weak and not hungry compared to Deegan...
Off-road village sucks as a national track. Very small and tight.

They're using the SMX name as well? We can't escape it it seems
Is it a world championship too?
Course Preview:
I had to see it on Google maps....its a fair track.
I mean hes one of the few riders to beat jett and hunter straight up on a 250, a couple times. Def fast and def has potential. Hopefully he will reach his full potential.
Heās going to get everything figured out and win. I think itās mental for him.
Hopefully Wilson can give Shimoda some competition.
Anyone else planning to go? The track definitely looks more spectator friendly than the last race I went to at Kinki last time Jo was here.
He is definitely slower on the Honda. I rewatched 2022 Pro Motocross and Jo was beating BOTH Lawrence bros when he was on. He was inconsistent but fast. Not heās JUST inconsistent
I'll be around, don't be shy this time. Arriving around 530 - expect the parking situation to be challenging if arriving too late. Since all qualifying is Sunday morning it's going to be an awesome days racing!

Sounds good. You gonna be wearing your Jett shirt again?
Haha! I'm trying not to wear it out! I'll shoot you a DM with my LINE add.
Pit Row
Saturday afternoon IA1 Free Practice - This video pretty much focuses on Jo the entire time.
wait, like it is a "Fair Track" or it is a 'fair" track? haha
Jo is one of my favorite guys to watch. Great style and form, just hasnāt got results.
oddly enough, I think heād do well at KTM. The bike would suit his style and I think heās the right kind of head case for Roger to whip into shape without cracking. Weāll probably never see that happen tho.
IA1(450) Race highlights.
Interesting Statistic, if SMX used MX's traditional point scoring system, Jo would've finished 2nd in the final standings.
Also if it wasn't for the DNF at San Fran, he would've only finished only 8 points off the championship assuming he got 4th.
And so did he.
Surprised it's not spelled Supermotorcross, which of course would be defined as, "daredevils driving bikes off road at high rates of speed and soaring through the air higher than a skyscraper!".
