I'm not silly or smart enough to make a full prediction but I won't be at all surprised if team Aus end up with some sort of shitty luck that will affect our result somewhere during the weekend haha

But nah either way it's my favourite weekend of the year

Does Team USA having Webb and Tomac instead of Hymas and Sexton change anybody's prediction?

Because it’s MXDN somebody will have sh&t luck, it always happens.

If none of the big guns suffer my picks would be in any order Fra/ Aus/ Ned/ USA.  I will be cheering for AP  due all the negativity on here.  It could be that Webb is the weak link as it’s been a while since he raced 250.  Just hope Max has a good result with all the drama about bike cost.

Top 3 tough to call, as the Dutch, French and Aussies could all win. My guess is:

Netherlands

France

Australia

Germany

Great Britain - Max will be fast at home

USA

I can't see GBR beating USA, that is wishful thinking.

I think it will be the Netherlands, France and then 3rd  between Australia and USA.

Didn't Plessinger beat Hunta at a lot of the nationals?

I still remember that red #6 murdering those outside berms in Latvia. Shame he crashed in all 3 of his starts and was never able to fight up front

No clue. However, my off the beaten path observation of one thing that could help USA is the MX14 tire. In recent years I feel the Pirelli run by many euros was a better soft tire.

Crap shoot now IMO between Netherlands, France, Australia and the USA,the track is very straightforward, not really technical, niche or to anyone's advantage but the race often unpredictable and can hit a team with bad luck,

And we all already know who’s going to run it. 😂

Hunter has a small advantage over AP for sure.  Jett has an even smaller advantage over a fresh Eli.

Ignorant question, and apologize if it’s already been asked. What restrictions are followed for MXoN bikes? Do the US bikes differ from what they typically ride during the AMA pro moto season?

Yes, from what I understand, the MXON bikes are following MXGP regulations, meaning different fuel and everything else.

Star racing will need to remember to add some chain guards...

Sexton was a long way ahead of Eli at Ironman and odds are Jett would have been ahead of Sexton.

It’s not like Eli has been notably better each race since coming off injury….

True but I think the test will be full length motos.

Jett also coming off injury.

Not such great odds, but I think came into the MX season recovering from a SX injury.

So Euros can use works bikes they have perfected all year that we do not have access to here in our race series.

Blame it on the lame AMA production rule. Has it really levelled the field for privateers vs factory riders?

The US has won more than anyone else; the majority of those wins were on bikes that came under the production rule.  It’s not an issue.

Of course it's an issue. If a rider can race a custom made frame, efi package, or engine, compared to one that has to compromise with mods to production stuff it is huge. Otherwise the Euros would all use production based stuff as well, which they don't.

Didn't seem possible in 2018 either, but it happened.

It's the rider not the bike, the first year of the production rule was 1986, Johnny O'Mara on a production based CR125 beat World Champions on works 500s...

Edit: edited for correct year!

The GP bikes are not the full works bikes they used to be.  They are mostly closer to a production prototype for the following year’s model.
