Did Hymas downplay how bad his knee was to get on the team? Could we have picked someone else had they been more transparent? Or did team USA know how bad it was and risked it anyway?

But maybe it’s as simple as his knee was manageable until he aggravated it at Charlotte.

He’s been racing (at a very high level) the entire year with his knee like that. I’m pretty sure he tore his ACL at the first round of supercross. So it was definitely Charlotte that re-aggravated it

Someone downplaying an injury? Sound familiar? Imagine? Where are the vital pitchforks at?

Anyways if we don’t send a team that’s pretty fucking lame considering we have several fast, healthy riders who could have been picked to start with

You mean the part that he has been open with the whole time since SX? And then the ankle at Spring Creek, Burnt arm at Unadilla and twisted knee again at Charlotte.

The Hymas/HRC camp has been nothing but transparent and compared to the guy that downplayed his injury big time this winter. Hymas more or less begged to be on team the whole summer this is not comparable.

Totally agree. You would have had to have been on Venus since March to not know Hymas' ACL was jacked. To continue to pound through the season was fairly remarkable to begin with. We should still be able to send a team to be competitive. These guys are suppose to be the best riders in the world but we can't get a team together. Sheesh.

And some of those riders opt'd out as did some of the teams that they work for. Can't force someone to go and race...

And he have also shown some what of a big heart regarding this sitting out the SMX series to heal up his knee so he would be able to ride the des nations.

He could have rolled around at smx to in 10th place to earn some cash but just like Hunter last year, he was commited to the des nations and put that in front of smx when the body needed a rest.

May very well be.

I believe the bikes and other stuff needed to be crated and shipped by the 10th of Sept. to get there on time.  So If Chance cant make it ....not sure who else could ride his bike.

Don’t know what the status is regarding RJ. But they could get him on a European built Husky with his own suspension more or less.

At this point I’m hoping they announce JuJu as hymas’ replacement, AP didn’t look too off his normal pace to me last weekend so maybe an all orange team

I'd be cool with it.  I mean  we've already got a foreign Team Manager and a lot of those guys have become great Americans.  Smile

Curious to see what this announcement is.

Seems like there would be a few possibilities for replacements if necessary. KTM group riders like Beamer, Hampshire, or DiFrancisco on locally provided bikes. Not sure when current contracts expire but you also have Chambers and Towers already in Europe.

He is along with a lot of other riders/racers that weren't born here. He just wasn't born here (born in Belgium) and that seems to be the standard over the years in regards to MXDN/MXON teams.

This was totally worth it so we can have three race Speedway Muck X champions.
