This kid continues to really raise the bar on the track and unless I've missed something seems to have also cleaned up his interviews. Hopefully he's converting some of the naysayers into fans as he starts to click off his list of dominant W's.
Of all the riding styles on the track, he's at the top of the list. He's what every one of you wants to look like on the track, which is a hanging-it-out-hauling-ass-on-the-edge type style. It's a much faster looking raw style than the ultra smoothness of some riders who are going fast, but never look like they're going fast. If it wasn't for him the 250 class would be boring to watch IMO.
I'm interested to see how he'll measure up to the Lawrence brothers and Chase once he moves up.
Anyone willing to admit they're a convert?
ppl recognize his skill set & talent , their just thrown off by his trash talk which me personally I don’t have a problem with it as I stated before
Maybe if he stops the gratuitous shit talk on the podium and rides for MXdN when he's needed.
As a rider yes, as a person no
Since this comes up often, can all you guys compile a comprehensive list of all the shit talking he's done so I'm clear on what everyone is so butt hurt about? I realize he took digs at Hymas and Kitchen, but he wasn't wrong if I remember correctly. I think it would be nice to see a complete list of his comments to really gage how bad everyone really thinks it is.
As for MXDN, isn't he having some hardware removed out of his wrist? Come on now, seems like a legitimate excuse to me.

This is fair. But, what if he continues to clean it up and stops throwing jabs? MIght be unlikely, but would people still hold a grudge long term if he conitnues to grow up and cleans it up?
He’s an amazing rider. But he’s the epitome of every spoiled, silver spoon kid I grew up with
It’s hardly trash talk…wish he would amp it up some more. Seems some folks on here are a bit too sensitive... his competition is ok with it.
Not really fair . We don't know what kind of person he is , only a persona . Love watching him ride that's all I know .
1. Going after Brennan at lorettas after the bike claim shouting at him in the pits.
2. Going by the HRC truck laughing and pointing at Hunters broken bike at Southwick?
3. His acting at the first SX this year riding around flipping riders off.
4. His danger zone comment when Forkner hit the ground.
5. His lame dig at Kitchen at Pala.
6. The Hymas incident at Milville.
But yes, the team seems to have gotten him some what calmer on camera now.
So now, go ahead with the hater comments because i wrote the list that you asked for.
I personaly did not like his riding his first year but he has cleaned up his amateur riding and starting to look really good on the bike. And i like when pro’s continue to work on it instead of just chasing lap times at the practice track.
Edit: And he races clean, and that’s a plus in my book. With his attitude off the track he could have been a new Barcia on the track, but he always make clean passes.
Nope, I like my hero’s humble and patriotic enough to represent their country when the opportunity arises. But full respect for the talent regardless.
Dude, don't play dumb. You're not dumb. You correctly predicted Eli's bunch 'em up strategy in Vegas 2017. In fact, I think you probably gave Kawi the idea to try it.
You're not seriously trying to say Deegan doesn't talk shit on the podium or that his minor wrist procedure can't wait two weeks.
That's why I would like to see a comprehensive list of his comments. I understand he's outspoken and some don't like that, but in doing so he's also playing the mental game against his competitors.
I keep telling folks on here , I can tell some don’t watch other sports cause wht haiden does & says is child’s play from wht I seen other pro athletes do & say on the mic , honestly he really don’t go in on his rivals as hard as ppl make it out to be
When I think trash talk I think UFC..😆
I think the kids on my son’s 4th grade football team were talking more trash this morning than Deegan has all season..
I totally get it that he's said some controversial things, and I do understand why some people don't like his outspokenness. I would like to see a list of it though because I think I may have missed some of it. Off the top of my head he said Kitchen fades (which turns out to be true), and he said Hymas thinks he has a chance, which I do agree could be over the line and seen as cocky and bitter. So I believe there could be more I'm missing, but I don't recall him saying anything recently. With that said, I don't watch all the youtube interviews and post race conferences. So it would be nice to see a list of all his controversial comments.
He hasn't really said anything bad on the podium recently, just takes some shots at people in the press conference. i love all of it.
Why don’t you compile this “comprehensive list”?
Thanks for this, and now that I see it I totally understand why some are put off. If true I could definitely live without the first 4 on your list, but the last two are more head game type of comments that don't bother me much.
So yeah, I get it but I'm not holding it against him now as he seems to be growing up a bit and has had a clean run of interviews recently.
Pit Row
Is it Haiden's fault his dad was motivated? Lot of rich kids racing pro now days, Haiden is putting in the work obviously.
What plenty of people feel is that they don’t know what’s the real Haiden. Is it the one that trash talk and does some stupid shit sometimes or is it the one that thank god on the podium after he has gotten som heat for what he said the previous weekend?.
Nobody can deny his skill and work ethic but the last races now that he has been more mature, is that also an act?
Had he just let the riding do the talking he would have had a lot more fans now including me.
Because I figured there might have been a few pre or post race comments in youtube stuff that I don't watch.
Fair enough. Maybe he'll continue to grow up and clean it up and leave behind some of these skeletons in the closet.
I think the real test of character is when riders start being challenged or lose when they're not used to it. If they start acting like cry babies, this is when they crumble.
Deegan hate is rooted in low testosterone levels
To directly answer the title thread, no. He could win every championship he competes in for the rest of his career and still no.
You may be right, my wife thinks he’s a dickhead.
He forgot:
7. The swerve, look back , cross jump, brake check against Jordan in Supercross.
8. The swerve, look back, cross jump, brake check against Hunter in Colorado.
9. Stoming the PC pits to confront Seth until Hammaker's mom barked at him and made him slither away.
10. Temper tantrum kicking his bike to the ground.
Science, bro
No doubt he gains more fans with every dominant performance he puts out there. No doubt I will never root for him ever.
And that was after:
2. Going by the HRC truck laughing and pointing at Hunters broken bike at Southwick.
