He said he does hour and 40 min motos at his home track for outdoors, if he couldn’t do 40 mins at race pace he’s not ready to race, but when he feels he can do race pace all the way thru a 1 (hour) 40 that’s when he knows he’s ready to race.
Thats why Tomac is so in tune with his bike and why they call him beast mode, he’s one of the oldest guys out there now and the most physically fit guy out of the field as well AND still winning and will be the 2nd winningest rider of all time when he retires. And I bet Lawerence, Sexton, and Deegan are doing about the same thing during the week as well. That’s why those 4 dudes can turn the fastest lap time of the whole day during the second motos on the last lap. Even if she misinformed us, sounds like he’s doing longer motos at home than 30 or 40 mins and that’s probably why hes got 4 outdoor championships and still winning at his age.
Back to back to back 30’s with fuel stops in between.

NOBODY is doing 100 minute motos. Nobody. If you think anyone is going race pace or anything close to it for 100 minutes, you are out of touch man.

Been on here longer than 8 years lol you see though Tomac is like all the other greats of this sport who trains in secret and by himself just like RC/Stew/Reed.. up until now since he’s retiring soon has started opening up more about what he does and has started doing more interviews. I never said that’s in fact what he does either I’m going off of what she said about the interview with him. Tomac doesn’t seem like the type of guy to bullshit someone during an interview either. But to me him doing hour and 40 min motos preparing for outdoors or coming off injury isn’t far fetched at all bc well dude is still the fastest dude out there and still winning at the end of his career. He puts in the work and obviously that’s why he’s got an edge on everyone else. Dudes 2 wins away from being the 2nd most winningest rider in history let that sink in.
It's like you guys think training for a marathon would make you a better sprinter. 100 minute motos would be detrimental to ACTUAL racing.

I normally watch moto when my partner is sleeping due to time zones. This season my partner has shown alot of interest and has been watching with me. Two comments she made this week
1) "Whos this Tomac guy? Where did he come from hes awesome."
2) When I saw Screech was about to start another monologue I muted the tv, my partner " why did you do that?", I turned the noise back on and my partner said without me saying a word " who is that? shes terrible? why is she talking like that?".
If my partner who is new to moto can see how bad Screech is why is Screech still screeching. Time to move this thread to the dumbgen with Screech

I don't know what that dude knows about athletics, but if you think riding for 100 minutes at race pace is supposed to help putting in 35 minutes at race pace, you clearly know nothing about "athletics" as you say.
And, it would be risking injury needlessly. If you can go race pace for 40 minutes, you have extra in the tank.
At my best (so far), I was doing 50 minute motos at 98%, and it felt awesome!
I'm hoping to get back to that next year once I have my surgery.
When I'm able to do 50 minute motos at race pace, then I'll know I'm ready for the 12 minute 60+ C or B class amateur motos

There is no point AT ALL in training for that long for the events he races. None. You hit a point of diminishing return pretty quickly and then open yourself up to injuries and overtraining.
I'm sure you'll disagree, because admitting your wrong is impossible for people these days even in the face of facts.
I think that she just misspoke ,miss understood or read her notes wrong. No way he would do hour and 40 minute moto's at race speed. Maybe he might go out and ride for an hour and 40 minutes. But sprinting for an hour and 40 minutes would be crazy. He would have to stop 1 or 2 times for fuel.
People have also called Eli an Alien . Should we also have a serious thread about how Eli is not really a human?
I really hope that somebody has Eli clarify this. And if he really is doing hour and 40 minute moto's, I would love to hear him explain why and how.
Maybe Eli is doing (2) 40 minute moto's in an hour and 40 minutes. So he's only stopping for 20 minutes. In my opinion that would simulate race conditions better than running a single hour and 40. But I'm a fat Oldman that rides an EMTB now so what do I know.
It would be interesting if Eli decides to do some off-road races after retiring from MX. GNCC or something similar would be pretty cool.
Tomac been running the top secret YZ 450 hybrid at home. The engine cuts out on all jumps and downhills and runs off the battery. Has regenerative braking which allows him to run those 100 minute motos.
Who are you now? How many engine fails have you seen a Factory Yamaha have in history? I'll wait...
