Why does it seem everyone in media is hell bent on naming this round Dallas? James Ricky Steve Ping etc…. I know it’s a small gripe but we all ready have a round called Dallas when it’s actually Arlington. Fort Worth is nothing like Dallas. It’s a totally different city by comparison. Why would you call a first year venue by something it’s not. Newsflash to the moronic moto media. There is was more to Texas than Dallas and most Texans despise Dallas. End rant.

Fort Worth is great, but it is the little sister to Dallas. Just like St Paul is the little sister to Minneapolis.
I’m from Granbury. I’ve never lived in a city. I just think it’s dumb to call it something it’s not. Oakland isn’t San Francisco and Saint Paul isn’t Minneapolis. I’m sure Fort Worth would like the recognition. It’s just lame that non Texans think Texas is Dallas Austin and Houston. The most non Texas parts of our state.

What difference does that make? I told you I don’t go to cities. I do my business where I like and in surrounding towns. You are clearly trying to make this that I am someone pro Fort Worth and completely missing my point in doing so.
Why do you care then? It’s like when Fairview people stomp their feet when people mistakenly call it Allen. To the rest of the country/world DFW is Dallas.
Of it makes no difference then why not just call it what it’s named? It’s really not that complicated.
I was born in Irving Tx across the highway from the old Texas stadium. But I agree with above not everything in the DFW area is Dallas. I'm not a cowboy fan so they can call them whatever they want 😭.

Its in the greater Dallas metro. Dallas will always take the wider precedent over Ft. Worth. Same reason we call it the ' Charlotte ' smx round when its 30 mins away in Concord. We called it the ' Chicago ' SMX round when its like 40 minutes away in Joilet, IL. The ' Roanoke SMX ' round isnt going to resonate with as many people unfortunately lol

All of the official print and digital media refer to the SX round as Arlington and the SMX round as Fort Worth (apologies to the good folks of Roanoke).
Non-Texan media guys speaking off the cuff probably refer to it as Dallas because that's what their itinerary says when they travel to SX/SMX.
How bout the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Not even in the same county as LA. Never quite got that one either.
It's not totally their fault, they don't live there to see relevancy in the local municipal boundaries.

To your point, then why don’t we call it the Justin SMX? Or Haslet SMX? Fort Worth really had to do some districting gymnastics to even get TMS in their city limits. It’s actually closer to Denton than Fort Worth.

Having lived in San Antonio for 25 years, I feel your pain. It's the 7th largest city in the U.S. and most couldn't point it out on a Texas map if they tried.🤣. Especially all the "new" Texans living in Austin that are busy Californicating Central Texas.

Dallas is a shit hole. That’s why everything moved to Arlington. I get your point about Northlake. I believe that would be the closest town. That or Justin. Fort Worth annexed that area so they could collect the tax revenue. I agree it’s not Fort Worth but it’s definitely not Dallas. I mean if it’s all just Dallas why bother with the FW in DFW. It’s just arrogant Dallas people and uneducated non Texas that think everything north of Austin is Dallas.
