I didn't preach the Star gospel...I called it BS last year too...just didn't buy into the tinfoil hat BS that was going from the Anti-crowd....but yet there is not one mention in this thread about Kitchen/Kawi turning it down as he was the next one inline before Hymas....it also looks like team GB is finding the money to pay Star for Antsie....so no matter what Bobby says it is about the money...but yet team USA will continue to try to raise money like a little league baseball team....so don't forget to buy a candy bar when you see their booth set up at the local grocery store....
We don’t even know if Kitchen was approached or asked to go. I’m sure if we knew for sure that he had been, and said no, then he and PC would be getting the same treatment.
Star are a joke, the money they were asking for to send Max was beyond ridiculous and even more so when you consider that it was public knowledge that he was only starting with the team this summer to be in contention for Team GB. From the way they treat this race, to the way they treat their riders, I have very little respect for them
It’s almost like the AMA gets surprised each year around August when they have to select a team.
Doing my part to get us a 10-pager here...
The keyboard-warrior-speculation in here is, per usual, pretty wild. A couple folks on the thread have been paying attention and have some facts behind their statements. The others...I just can't. So anyway, getting away from HOW MUCH people think WHO is paying for participation and forgetting about the injury / upcoming procedure for a moment; Haiden's racing star is still on the rise, in a huge way. He's been a digital media sensation since diapers, but now he has proven himself at the professional level and very clearly hitting his stride, which will likely shape the next decade-plus of his career and, ultimately, his entire life. Haiden has more to lose than gain during this pivotal time; aside from finances, physical health and patriotism, I have zero doubts that not going is the best thing for him. I don't know the kid, this is all my personal opinion.
As an American, a racer and a fan, I'd rather see him get out there and whip some friggin' a$$!!!

This. A bit of forward planning goes a long way. MXdN has been on the global MX calendar annually for 75 years or more. How can it be that with all the resource available over there Team USA nearly always ends up scrambling to get a team together
Sorry for being 35 but who is this?
Here we go, best post in this thread. You nailed it.
I am shocked. A Deegan thread filled with Deegan hate.
Vital
Seriously? He was the next guy inline they chose AP because he was the next guy inline...if they didn't ask the reason is because of Kawi's stance but you can bet their riders will be available next year....to be honest the blame falls on the AMA, the industry and the committee that selects the riders....get your MXDN candy bar here!!
Great post as always DonM
Kawasaki got blasted last year I think, but this year the Deegan's sucked the air out of the room so Kawi is avoiding the blast.
For the ppl who buy the surgery thing… you realize he is not injured right? This is not him going to get a broken wrist plated as soon as possible so he has as much time as possible to heal and prepare before a1. No, this is them choosing to take out a plate in his wrist (for his wrist that he totally did not break before the mx season *wink *wink) because it is totally healed now so he doesnt need the plate anymore. He doesnt have to take it out, most ppl leave them in, but getting it out is a super minor procesure. That means hes going to be fine to ride basically immediately after. Hell have the stitches and a couple screw holes in the bone which will cause a little bit of discomfort, but other than that hes completely fine.
If he wanted to go he would have went, the surgery thing is being used as cover. Ppl being annoyed is not “hate” they just have eyes and a brain. They want usa to win mxon and haiden would have gave them the best chance to win and the reason being given is a lie so ppl are calling it out. Ppl always say how “rad” it is that deegs tells it like it is, but fans cant tell it like it is? They should have just been honest about his wrist when it happened then and they should be honest now about why theyre not going. Then nobody would be able to say anything. When you lie ppl will call it out thats how the world works.
They're a bunch of amateurs!!
None of what you said above is an accurate expression of what Haiden or Star has said. It's the exact opposite. Haiden said his wrist is fine and he can race, but that their doctor advised the pins be removed sooner rather than later. There's a small window to have that procedure done in time to prepare for the 2025 season, so they are electing to have that done.
It's his career and his and his team's choice. If Chance wants to go with a pre-exsting injury (that, much like your above rant is being over dramatized for full effect whrnnin actuality Chance has said he feels 100%) then that's his choice as well.
Everyone is a disappointed that Haiden isnt going. We wanted to see him face off against Europe's best. But the responses have been over the top and ridiculous. Especially in light of the fact that his choice has no meaninful impact in anyone's day to day llife other than Haiden's.
I agree, he was probably asked, but we don’t officially know that.
I’m sure there are lots of people in the pits over there that would be honoured to take up the role of Team Manager, and it’s well documented that the current one causes some issues with some of the teams. The fact that nothing has been done by now to change that is crazy to me
Amateur Motocross Association
I’m still scratching my head about how they covered up/lied about this injury in the beginning of the year and then Deegan gets on the podium in SX and says something along the lines of “I just wish the fans knew what we go through behind the scenes”. Just fucking tell us!! Was it sprained? Are there pins in his wrist? Is he ducking the competition? Bueller?
Speculation is not fact. And when people construe speculation as fact, they lose their eyes and brains to the reality of the situation (and appear "annoyed", and perhaps some "hate"). There is a handful of factual reasons that have been provided for all to read (even if you only believe one of them), but it sure looks like it is more fun to soapbox with nothing in our pockets but speculation. I guess that is the fun of it for everyone here to talk about, but none of us will ever truly know. So when people act like they really know, they look like clowns. 🤡
This is pretty much how I feel about it as well. Very well said. And I think this is a totally reasonable/logical stance. At the end of the day, I'm not upset or anything but with how this is all handled, it's no wonder everyone is in an uproar. Because you can't take the "official statements" at face value. I think the Chase interview on Pulp, pretty much highlighted that and made it pretty apparent.
Pit Row
But what if you're wrong...reading comprehension seems to be an issue but thanks for your medical opinion Doc....just a few things that are wrong in your post...it's not plates and screws it's pins...pins that were put in place to speed up the healing process but have to be removed after healing...if you go too long after the healing process to remove the pins it can cause issues and he is choosing to have them removed as soon as possible after the season is complete so if there are any complications he has the time to recover and prepare for 2025....with that said your anger should be for the AMA, the committee and the industry for not having a plan in place to raise enough money to pay the teams what it costs to send the teams over....I'm disappointed in Kawi and Star for their stance but I also understand that the costs to do this are not cheap...the fact that team USA doesn't have a plan in place to pay the costs to the teams is an embarrassment...
But guys! Deegan gave the shirt off his back for Team USA!!
HAHAHAHAH
That's bullshit! these teams acting like a bunch of highschool girls and taking their toys home because they don't want to be on the same radio frequency as the others on the team is a joke and I've been very critical of the team leaders at Kawi for their thought process...do you think all these excuses would go away if the AMA found a way to pay 100% of the team costs? I do...
When I opened this forum…
This thread had 260 posts…
The MXON Team Announcement thread had 60…
And both were created by Micheal within 25 minutes of each-other.
So, a coupl’a things are apparent after reading them both: The Deegan Haters are serious about their hate for or hate “on” lil’ Deegs…and they aren’t as serious about their care or support for the actual MXON team.
Welcome to the internet.
People are mad because of the hypocrisy and its likely they have been pandered to. Deegan is in a unique position because has consistently chosen to portray himself as the American rider. He alone made that choice.
The wrist is certainly suspicious. Hardware removal is minor, the timing doesn't make sense and the topic a convenient excuse to use for someone who does not want to go. Its public relations suicide to admit you don't want to go so a cover is needed for any rider in that position.
Pandering is one thing in itself. But America is very unique in that patriotism is taken very very seriously in every facet. Its not about the motorcycles and you can't write it off because "it doesn't affect ones day".
I don’t think the Team announcement thread took off because 90% of people on here a week ago would’ve told you that Deegan was backing out. There are some miserable people on here who definitely let it unload on Haiden a little too much at times, but the criticism and speculation is warranted IMO. He chooses to play a polarizing character basically every time a microphone is in front of him, this is what comes with it.
Were you in the doctors office with him and his doctor ladt week?
Reading this thread I'm reminded of an old Christian sect that handled rattlesnakes and spoke in "Tongues;" If you didn't pick up a deadly snake (Test God) and pray in tongues, you failed their litmus test and were not going to heaven
Patriotism has nothing to do with not wanting to spend tens of thousands of dollars and risking an injury for a race that counts for nothing.
Deegan and Star get paid by Yamaha and Monster to win races and titles in America. A one off race does for bragging rights is not a good return on investment.
I don’t get why people are so hung up on this race. Y’all act like people are burning the American flag because they don’t want to go.
I think it is as simple as this. It wasn’t worth it $ wise in the Deegan’s mind so they didn’t want to go. Star helps provide cover, along with a medical reason that would not exist if it were say…the Monster cup with a million on the line…. so the rider losses less popularity. Does anyone here really think if Deegan says, “I really want to go!”, that Star doesn’t make that happen?? Really? If you think that you have no clue.
the nail that sticks out gets hammered down.
If either Hymas or Kitchen had acted the way Danger boy has done the last two years, and then add the whole star racing mess and Brian at lorettas you can bet your ass that any rider with the same track record would get the same treatment.
But no other rider or team act like they do so people have nothing to react to.
That my man is Mr. Danny Chandler, aka Magoo ....pretty much the most badadass mofo to ever race motocross!
