Would not him faking getting kicked out, gain more views than what he normally produces from race day?

Agreed.  No fan of Cooksey,but this smacks as very "anti-freedom of the press".  Not a good look.

I actually broke my rule and watched a Cooksey video. Thought it was worth it just to see him getting kicked out and crying like a little girl. 

Now I feel dirty. Save yourselves…don’t do it.

MXSports seems to be the "Facebook" of motocross. LOL

Wouldn't surprise me if he knew he was going to get booted and went just to create the drama and record it....it's all about the clicks...

A broken clock is right 2 times a day too.   

 There are likely many reasons for other moto media not breaking the stories that he has been right on and broken.  Cooksey often reports before getting a response from all parties involved.  And he takes risks that  most media would not want to take. That could damage their credibility if wrong. So those other guys might just not be comfortable putting out a story with the info they have been able to get. 

 I can think of many other possible reasons. But that one is a big one that seems like it would be a common one .And that is not a conspiracy. 

I watch his stuff every so often, I treat it similarly to posts by random people on here. Storing the info away in the back of my mind . And waiting to come to any conclusion  until I hear more about the info from other sources.  I would caution anybody that watches his stuff to do so with a similar approach.  

 A side note, Jake Morrisons mother is a customer of mine and after Cooksey's video , Mika contacted him and said they did not know their Lawyer was going after Jake or his track and they said they told the Lawyer to drop it.  Cooksey could do a lot of good if he did not seem to want to burn the industry down.

It sets a bad precedent to have someone removed simply because they are a critic. Independent journalists who question the narrative are needed in any industry. 

Unfortunately, MX Sports does not allow dissenting opinions, and is able to control the narrative by basically owning the press.   Want to keep your job?  Then you better not rustle any feathers. 

Just as unfortunate is that many will ignore that and focus only on the person being kicked out as evidenced by this thead. 

Freedom of press applies to the government restrictions as far as reporting not physical access.     It is not permission to go out and enter private property.   Just like You tube, IG, Facebook, this website we are on now, can all click away anything they desire. 

Another example is a military base.  The press can report on any stories they feel confident are true. But that still will not allow unlimited access to the base property. The military can deny physical access to the press. Same with any government building. That itself is not censorship. 

Freedom of the press is the ability for legit press members to be able to report news without being  arrested or sued. Its not a guaranty to access info, property or anything.  The freedom of information act would be closer to what  many think the freedom of press means.

Just talked to DC. NBC requested his removal for live streaming practice on his YouTube channel. That’s a huge no go with NBC.

Most people would get away with it but when you do have a slightly popular YouTube channel, you’re going to get nailed.

It’s crazy that MX sports would care so much!  It’s just such a bad look for the organization. Who cares if he bad mouths them?  They definitely should not. Don’t give him a press pass and just ignore him. MX sports is making emotional decisions that makes them look like cry babies. The professional thing to do would have been to “give him the attention he deserves” and just ignore him. Now they’ve got more “bad press.”  Cooksey gets to play the victim and prove his irrelevant point that MX Sports is a shitty organization.  Cooksey wins and MX Sports looses after this stupid decision. 

Goodell booted Barstool (el pres) from the Super Bowl press stuff. So it does happen in other sports.

DC = Goodell is a tough look though.

I understand the criticism but this smacks of censorship. One of the great things of free speech is dingbats can prove it time and again, let them bang gums, who or why care? Does this Cooksey do anything dangerous? I don't get it, this seems like censorship or cancel culture.

Shocker this one isn’t DC’s fault either. He always manages to come out smelling like a rose. I’d be fine if he said “Ya, I booted Cooksey. He sucks”

So ML says that NBC wanted him booted for copyright infringement and you still blame MxSports?

Does anyone really think he was anything less than a total defiant jerk when he was asked to stop streaming practice? Police don't end up involved in this kind of stuff until you've made a scene and ignored the rental cops.
