I,m glad the Stewart,s pulled the plug. Hollywood movies of anything in sports are sooo cheesy. Last good movie is from 20 yrs ago Taladaga nights. Herby the movie about the beatle 53 was good but that the early 70,s. That’s a motor sport movie kinda of more of a comedy tho.
I was going to take the low road and talk about how they only wanted to promote him cause he's black. Props to the Stewarts for not even working with those people at all. Hollywood has made good work of completely destroying themselves over that time period. A lot of people who used to work in Hollywood are just unemployed they mostly closed up shops. Hollywood is more interesting in grooming your kids now.
Punchbowl meets turd, film at 11..
The drug addled slowly begin to identify themselves. Why don't you put the junk down and get something done tomorrow? Afraid of having nightmares for the next week?
Haven’t seen it, I was 2. I’ll check it out.
And are we not though?
Spend enough time around here and you realise moto fans are amalgamation of mental retardation, racism, sexism and general inability to comprehend anything beyond what’s right in front of them…
We are the booger eating window lickers but we just don’t like when it’s pointed out to us. The only sports fans that even come close are UK ‘football’ fans. We are dumb as a box of dildos but not nearly as much fun.
These guys?
You proved my point perfectly..
I mean yeah that’s what happens. But also that’s most movies about anything, the human drama is the drama.
Motocross is a tough sport to dramatize in a non documentary sense. Helmets, noise and no communication with the pits makes it hard to create emotionally compelling races.
TGO does it with interviews and VO and lots of individual stories following different riders for each race. Interview state the states and emotional feeling in a moment, VO explains what is happening in a moment and we can cut in and out of the race to the interview etc etc. A real time narrative drama where the outcome of the race is the drama and the race is given a large amount of screen time is near on impossible to be good has never been done as far as I have seen. Hence why any decent sports movie is a story about people not about sports.
See MoneyBall, challengers, iron claw, slap shot, the wrestler, whip it, Ferrari etc etc etc. but even those don’t have the some inherent narrative challenges of moto bikes. Car movies have communication with the pits and endless camera mounting and dummy cars to make it possible.
They tried with XXX, CHARLIES ANGELS and SUPERCROSS THE MOVIES using green screen and it was just lame and resorted to conversations while riding. It was weird.
There is a lot of truth to this on the commercial side.
Let’s not go blaming the tool.
WoW what a lost opportunity by not going through with the movie.
There must have been something really bad that the Stewart's did not agree with because all I can see by doing this is a win-win for everyone including the sport.
I've always enjoyed watching Sam Jones interviews seems like a top-notch guy, total professional. When he said, "I really wanted to make this movie more than any other". You could tell it was from the heart.
Maybe they need to rekindle the fire and see if they can get this going once again.
Thanks for posting this topic.
Don't Bogart that joint....
Thing is, no matter how they made that movie we would've hated it..
Every sport movie ever made the core fans of that sport hated it
Sorry for partying

You are showing your complete ignorance, bias, and lack of accurate analysis. Please stop now.
Killers of the Flower Moon chose that perspective so you had to spend the entire movie experiencing the tension and discomfort of knowing what he was doing. Marty chose to forgo the twist ending or big reveal of who the killer was, which has been done in every thriller movie ever, and instead forced you to think about what a piece of shit Ernest is the whole runtime. It did catch me off guard but I don't think it ruined it.
Yeah no, fair enough, people loved the movie for obvious reasons - But I think your assertion that it was either: see this from the perspective of the evil white man OR have a twist ending reveal the evil white man as the evil white man is flawed.
We can know who the evil white person is, while Lily Gladstone or others try and figure it out. -- Drawing the tension out, feeling the tension in a stronger way.... BUUUUT the star needs to be bankable to get the budget to do this film this way... AAAAND Scorcese adapting a book from an old white man, initally written from the FBI POV, then changed to the evil old white men, then in an attempt to atone for making another violent movie, added a radio play and 4th wall break, written in post production... I hated the movie so much... But so many people loved it including far more learned film people than me.
I want to think he’s trying to help people stay healthy and avoid addiction and jail time. But he hasn’t learned that getting all preachy to strangers just doesn’t work.
Or maybe he’s just a troll?
I must not be addicted enough.
Nice hijack. What was your previous screen name here, loser? Give it a rest or go away.
Hahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!! WTH is this? Also, does anyone have a french horn I can borrow?
Friendly!
Slow down man I would start with a clarinet before taking on the french horn and ultimately the tuba
Lol...I think you've got it backwards. You START with a tuba and work your way down to a Jews Harp. Get that "twang" near that "thang".😆
Sorry🤒
I have even more respect for James now. I wouldn't sell my family's legacy to Hollywood for ANY amount of money. Something HAD to be wrong for the Stewarts to ghost a 50+ million dollar movie. I think something is being left out here...
You really think a bunch of celebrities/writers/producers in Hollywood are going to tell the REAL reason the movie isnt getting made? Not a chance.
