Mine was being there for the 87 Des Nations and seeing pure magic from our team in f-cking awful conditions. One might even say the rain was biblical that weekend
Listening to the webcast of the broadcast when Ben Townley told weege he had to leave to go down track side to cheers on Cody cooper trying to chase down bubba
Walking the track the day before, sliding down screw you and having to bear crawl back up. Like many things, TV doesnt do it justice. Call it a day if your bike has as issue at the bottom.
I saw my mom whip her tits out and ask Doug Henry to sign them. 😳
He did! 😂😂😂
Bob Hannah's last race, when he said Rick Johnson was an alien.

It’s Windham beating RC to break the streak…
Was coming in to post MXoN but you beat me to it 😆
Trench warfare. This was peak rutocross
The all night raging parties in the early 1980’s. Insane amounts of liquor, music blaring from every van on the premises, port a potty’s being lit on fire, fireworks that went on until 5 A.M., police being called, then being scared to arrest anyone for fear of a riot. Good times ! The racing was fantastic too !
Mine too. The roar of the crowd was like a sonic wave as he headed towards the back hill where we were sitting. Awesome memory.
My kid and I still talk about it often.
Please tell me you aren't kidding
I can tell you have never been to Unafukindilla.
I was there too but mine was Hannah's win. I was the first one over the fence and got my pic in Dirt Rider.
When RR chased down, passed and dropped RC on 125s
Are you still in therapy, son ? 😳😵💫🤣🤣. I was there sometime in the 80’s when Larry Maiers ( Motoworld) the announcer- somehow pissed off The Hill People and, a mob moved towards the tower to withdraw him and pummel him. I think the NY State Police intervened. There were cops on horses, never seen that at a mx before nor after….
84 to 89 were all great to me going with my parents those years seeing Hannah and all the rest
Wish I was - my mom parties.
I was 12 or 13
1989.
15 years old.
Hannah’s last race.
Getting to race on the hallowed turf of unadilla..
Pit Row
That moto was insane. I’m a firm believer that his bike has some extra ponies that moto as he wheelie’d by RC in 4th gear. Longacre was on that team and I wouldn’t trust guy to put gas in my car.
JS7 landing on RC’s back, I had a front row seat at the base of the hill. Awesome.
1. Windham beating RC in '03
2. Stew landing on RC in '05 and Windham winning the moto, one of only two motos that RC didn't win that year.
3. Nicoletti getting a podium stands out to me because I remember a photo of him smiling and it seemed like he really was savoring the moment in a way few of us ever do.
I think it was 1989, hurricane Hannah was on stage receiving a reward, lifetime achievement or something. BoB stood behind the local beauty queen and pulled her top down. I cant find this anowhere on the net. Am i the only person to have seen that event?
First time there for 79 GP, couldn't believe what I was seeing and the 87 MXON. In the mud bath of 87 they didn't cut out Screw U and in the 250/450 era they have at least twice that I can remember?????
James Stewart letting Reed by in 02 was epic.
Going to find out this weekend! First time going!
I was a big Chad Reed fan..I was pumped while he was catching James and when he passed him. I didn't realize what was happening at the time, other than Stewart was going slower, we thought it was a mechanical.
I was disappointed when JS7 went blowing back by after that.
Scoring my single point of a horirible year in 2000. Two shoulder surgeries, came back too early just to try to enjoy riding out of the KTM rig. Was still surreal to even get to race such an iconic track.
1978 250 GP. Ellis and Hannah (I think) won the motos and Marty Tripes went 2-2 for the overall. They gave out little American flags when we went in and when the Americans were out front, the place was a sea of waving flags! Russians on KTM’s being watched closely by ‘mechanics’ who never touched a wrench all weekend. Me and a buddy drove my 75 VW Rabbit straight through from Omaha. Those were great days!
