Much like many of us old farts claim that Jo Jo Keller scrubbed years ago. Mike Hartwig invented Beast Mode in the early seventies.

I just noticed, as of late, your moto knowledge goes way back. I origanally had you pegged as a guy in his late 40's, early 50's.
Thanks for the compliment! I'm older than I like to admit
Bitchin pic motomike.
The core is a 10 out of 10 on that one. Snow fence...open face helmet...Joffa,.,Carrera goggles, 2 strokes...plus a couple of 70's chicks in the background.
No complaints from me.
That’s prob like 75’ and so bad ass and I can remember looking thru snow fence like that as a ~6 kid at one of the early New Orleans Nationals in Waggaman, La. ~1974. Great memories and the riders of that era were animals riding the wheels off something with so little suspension. Respect!

Cool Datsun pickup in the background too.
No mechanics putting a fresh clean rear wheel on!
There is tons of awesome footage of him on the Jim Sheldon YouTube channel.
Gary Semics next to him?
Non from this old guy either!!!
Jim Weinert 1979 Daytona SX Watch It!
cross bar pads are overrated
or just not invented yet
Kinda like to here more stories and details from these old racers
Nor Tear-Offs!
That photo is from 1974, the only year Mike was on Yamaha. Hartwig is one of the guys that should have been a much bigger star but a back injury ended his career not long after he got his Yamaha ride.
Is that a mud flap on his peak...and a rag on his accelerator throttle and shoulder pads and probably real leathers (pants).
Correct on all counts.
I'm guessing Wyman Priddy
Pit Row
#25 on the Kawasaki is Terry Clark
Thanks!
