This shit is next level. Forgot how good KTM Ken was.

Also, interesting to see how much more they are sitting down back then.

Enjoy

Idk but you could also ask how many AMA SX/MX titles would Ken have won if he hadn’t of had his two serious injuries.

Looks like he wouldnt have beat Herling's much if he would have stayed. Just like it appeared he didnt beat him this time.

I always thought it was weird that people just assumed he would’ve won the 2017 SX title. There were still 14 races to go when he crashed out, nothing had been decided yet.

It's impossible to say how many MXGP titles Ken would have won if he had stayed, but one thing is certain: we missed out on countless epic battles between Ken and Herlings.

There would have been some EPIC Herlings, Cairoli, Roczen battles that's for sure. I think Cairoli and Herlings stats would look a little different if he stuck around. I also think AMA stats post 2017 would have looked a lot different without those injuries.

One thing is for sure.. the history books will never reflect how gnarly and talented Ken Roczen really was. Kind of like Kdub but for completely different reasons. Seeing him make his comeback was absolutely insane, and now seeing him just go out there and just have fun is really cool to watch.

if you tell all the story it might have a different end......

this was 2011, mxgp of Portugal, mx2 moto 1......but the overall was 1st Herlings 2nd Paulin and 3rd Osborne......at the time Herlings was 16 years old, he could only get better......

That's an easy questtion......then you just have to look at how many times herlings has lost a title due to an injury....and then you have the number of titles roczen has now had....

The better question is how many US SX/MX championships would Ken have if these two crashes hadn't happened and turned him into K-rex?

How many would Everts NOT have if Albee, Tortelli and, Bayle had stayed in the GP's?

Yeah because Kenny crashed out in the waves. He won the title comfortably despite this DNF though

I mean it's always hard to say what could have been.. You also don't want to discredit other champions like Tomac, Herlings, Cairoli or Gajser that worked their asses off for their resume. Injuries are sadly part of the sport and shit like that can happen.

I still think 2016 Kenny was the best we have ever seen someone operate the modern 450 before Jett and it's sad that we never got to see the peak Kenny but it's fucking awesome that he is still out there winning which should have never been a possibility after what he went through. The fact that he was still a top 3 guy for most of the seasons after 2017 shows what a bad MF he is.

When it comes to the MXGP question.. I don't see any MXGP guy beating a healthy Kenny besides Cairoli and Herlings in their prime years.

Another question, what would have happen if he never left KTM?

Your last question is legit. KTM got a lot better in 2015, the beginning of Ken’s prime

Well, I’m just stoked to get to see him race SX…MX…SMX…WSX…

Whatever. The dude ain’t got no “quit” in him.

Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him sneak in a GP just for kicks.

KR kicks ass.

Ken was very good in GP's, on those kind of tracks his technique is so good there's no doubt he would have been extremely successful and won titles, I remember Everts giving him high praise. In a way it's a shame but he followed his dream to race in the US, made a hell of a lot of money and I'm pretty sure he regrets nothing.

4 or 5 maybe? I don’t think he beats Herlings in 2018. Maybe he wins 2021 given that Herlings missed 3 motos and had a mechanical DNF, and I don’t know of Roczen allows that kind of advantage to slip.

I don’t want to say that he wins most if not all of the ones that Herlings didn’t win because that feels a bit disrespectful to Febvre, Gajser, Cairoli. But I think its probably about what would’ve happened. It’s a shame we never got to find out. Maybe he’ll be back soon and we can get an idea at least

He’s there with the top echelon of riders talent wise. He coulda woulda shoulda won so much more. Same for Herlings. Damn shame for injuries but that is part of it.  I’m just glad he is still out there entertaining us!  Thanks Ken!

Totally agree with you. Thats what my post meant. His trajectory whether staying MXGP or going AMA was always going to be possibly amazing, but we will never know the “what if”.

Kenny is amazing, dude somehow not only miraculously kept his limbs through this, but recovered to winning again!

You have to wonder without SX how well he would have done MX only. Either way Ken is a stud and it’s a testament to his skill and dedication to be able to win after those injuries.

Second was from the Webb incident, yes. Apparently the second one was even worse (in terms of how it limited him riding wise).
