Outdoor Title Contenders

So obviously Reed, Dungey and Alessi are the 3 favorites going into outdoors, but with one of the craziest supercross seasons just ending, who knows who will be at the top in points come round 12. This may be a good year to be consistent IE Andrew Short. Also rooting for those underdogs like T Hahn and Ricky D. Whats your opinion on who will finish top 5 in outdoors.

I think this will be a break-out season for JG. If he can start nailing down starts, he will be un-touchable. Besides that, Reed Dungey & Alessi are the obvious others.

haha i was gonna say the same thing. Millsaps is gonna be going good, especially b/c its signing year for him. Idk if he will be that consistent tho.

Whoever finishes the season with the most points will win the title. This motif applies in both the 250s and 450s.
5/16/2010 7:51pm
I will take Tomac in the 250 class and Dungey in the 450 class.
5/16/2010 8:01pm

Brett Metcalf beat Mike Alessi a couple weeks ago in his first race on a 450.

Yeah, that's true and I was there to see it, but come AMA national time I'd put my money on Mike...unless Mike has bike problems. I hope Brett goes well though.

IF MA800 is on his game and starts getting wins I think barring any kneecap or speedbump incidents the title is his. Alot of the other riders are good on this day or that, or maybe take a win at their favorite track but aside from Bubba and RV I just dont see anyone with the speed of Mikey outdoors. Not to mention most of these guys are 5 months into a grueling season and may have already peaked as far as fitness where as Mikey has been able to just get into a groove and get prepared. I think the 1st 2 rounds will be the story teller for this season. If Mikey comes away with wins/good finishes I just dont see anyone else having aything for him. THe defending champ is fast but not in same league as MA. JG33 is fast as hell but inconsitant. I dont see RD5 having the same success as the SX series. I think if everyone stays healthy the points will finish

1) MA800
2) JG33
3) RD5
4) CR22
5) AS29
6) JB23
7) GL8
8) IT9
9) TH10
10) BT101

I think BT101 is going surprise alot of you people putting him in 6th to 10th. I dont see him as the type of guy that will settle for 10th, and too think JB23 and TH10 will bet BT101, i cant see it. I predict a MA800 stomping in the 450s. The Lites, well who knows, Pourcel gotta be a safe bet

We will also see how Mike's 350 handles starts against 450's - that could be really important.

I don't know if I see JG33 finishing over Dungey in a series. Has he ever?

450s
1)MA800 if he stays healthy. Would be nice for him to finally get one so he can retire already.
2)RD5 be fast and consistent. Probably can't match 800 for all 12 rounds.
3)DM18 no reason he can't be up front and he needs to be right now.
4)CR22 will probably have a slow start and lose too many points early on.
5)BT101 fast and top 5 would be good for coming back.

250s
1)CP377. Nobody will hang with him points wise over 12 rounds.
2)TC38 would be nice to see him get wins and the title.
3)DW108 will surprise people. Sick style and knows how to hang it out outdoors and also on a pc bike.
4)JW12 fast but i see him having a few bad rounds like last year. Hopefully not tho.
5)JB17 will probably have a few dnfs thatll cost him.
