Got a thread on the build in the bike build section. Check it out for details.
Quick overview:
2022 rmz250 chassis from JGR
Custom engine mounts by Nihilo concepts
2006 RM250 motor. Works bottom end, cylinder and head reworked by PC
RC pipe
Works showa forks, a kit shock w billet body
Bunch of other works goodies on it.
Authentically replicated.
I'm guessing the reply would be, it's a replica of a Roczen race bike built with authentic race parts...
If it enables me to ride like this I'll take it! 😏
As one of the most stock factory race bikes in the pits, I can’t see $30k unless you just need a RMZ that was built by Travis. I’m almost positive you can buy Roczen’s exact engine package from Twisted for say $7k and he runs stock clamps. This bike has oem looking fork tubes with TiNitride lowers. My RMZ is close with Showa A-kit minus the Twisted engine. I could see this selling for $14-15,000.
This was on sale for 30K also and i think the buyer bought two. 😎
This is the only Zook I care about in this thread. *Drool*
But that bike is all pc parts that people can buy at PC. No works parts. Would like to hear the back story on the Suzuki to hear how the factory parts were obtained
Are we positive they didn’t give roczens bike a little extra sauce compared to a customer?
Love the updates you have done, however that bike was built at SharpMoto by many involved...Works frame, subframe and swingarm there are so many parts to that bike that we will never see again. Hubs are works with JS7 labeled inside the barrells. RC4 pipe which I still own a few of. Billet works showa shock. Without the help of WMR in Stuart Fl the swap also would not have been possible, billet engine mounts, fuel tank blockoff plate big thanks to those guys also.
I know you are enjoying it, as I did at Loretta Lynn's in plus 30 2 years ago
sick bike !!
Yep, Elliot Cook and co. built the bike as indicated in the thread. There were some engine things that had to be taken care that I documented as well, but you’re right, it’s a very cool bike with lots of unobtanium. Very fun to ride, just can’t be lazy 😂
I don't think there are any true Suzuki works parts left at HEP. I recall they inherited some works stuff from JGR but it has been a long time since Japan has developed and built parts for the race team. I think you or I could build Roczen's bike with enough money.
I wonder where all the parts from jgr ended up at ? I’d bet someone’s got some nice stuff in there garages
Pit Row
I have a customer that bought a bunch of stuff from them. He has 3 RMZ 450's . Maybe 2 now. But had 3 at one point . One that is built up to the same specs as the bike Chad reed raced for them. That one sits on a stand in his garage and I don't think he will ride it. He was trying to get me to buy some suspension he has , and I know he bought a bunch of stuff. Some day I'm going to go over and do a video that shows some of his bikes. When the time lines up for both of us. JGR told him Hep had gotten most of what they had left . And he had a hard time tracking down all the parts for the Reed bike. They may have some random stuff left . But all the good stuff is long gone. I looked to see if he had any public photos of the bike and did not see any. So I don't have any to post.
The last I checked, Paul had a few of those engines on the shelf with a matching ECU. I’m pretty sure HEP has been buying up his supply of old JGR stuff but if I remember right I could get that engine package for around $7k.
Again, stock clamps. Looks like stock hubs. Stock upper fork tubes and cartridges judging by the top cap. Oem RMZ KYB shock. Throw $2k of titanium bolts at a RMZ with a Twisted engine if you desire and get your suspension coated and you have a Roczen “replica”. It’s actually pretty cool how stock his bike, especially his outdoor setup, was last year. A works Nissin front caliper would be sweet and a set of real deal works Showas would make $20-30k more of a reality for me.
$30K?! DIdn't see that. Yikes, Pass
I poster here has a box trailer or 2 full of left over jgr parts. I think he had a box full of works clutch perches? Very nice come up
Wasn't there a big thread on that and it was mostly drama about someone not getting the parts they wanted or something? Or did I dream that?
Yeah i remember that too. Something about showing up the second time and not being able to get everything left
I've bought a few bikes over the years from gncc pro teams and this is normal (not to have a VIN nbr). Thats one of the negatives of buying directly from the race teams.
My understanding is that when you order a replacement frame from a manufacturer, it will not come with a new VIN stamping. It was true with Kawasaki a few years back, guessing the same for Suzuki if not everyone.
What bothers me about the ad is he says it’s a replica and later says it’s authentic. It’s one or the other, but not both.
I know, childish. Still bothers me! Nice bike though!
Yep, none of them come with a VIN
it is an authentic replica.
My interpretation of that is the bike was never Kenny's so it's a replica, but it was built with real HEP A-kit parts, so it's authentic in that sense.
