So they went without the scoop tire in moto 1?  I am 3000 miles away on my couch and could see the scoop tire would be waaaay faster around Milville.....  LaughingLaughingLaughing

I thi k riders underestimate how much it attributes to their great starts and they start to believe that it’s all them and they can get a good start without the scoop too.. 

Hunter was much the same when he didn’t use it..

I thought they said during broadcast he didn’t ever run the scoop at home either so was more familiar with traditional tire. Normally not wise to make changes for first time during the race. I assume that’s why he didn’t want the change.

I look for J Coop to be really good this Saturday based on his past at Washougal. I think he gets to second oa and even potentially wins a moto.

It can feel like you're riding on train tracks when you hit hard packed. I like a scoop tire best once it has some hours on it.

The majority of them don’t like the scoop on the track, they use it for the starts.

A scoop tire at Millville is the only option. Before the Dunlop MX14 it was the Pirelli Scorpion. But now Dunlop went and made their version. It looks like the MX14 lugs are taller and would have a longer ride life. But I always put on the Kenda Millville rear tire back in the day. It was perfect for that track. The lugs were in a subtle scoop formation.

That’s because RC had the 756 which is still to this day the best tire ever made!!
