🤣 I think you are making out to be more than it was. Think I know the instance you’re referring. Always consider you a friend. Weird that we haven’t met in person.

I'll be 66 in around three weeks. 5.8" 160

I actually lost weight since I've been retired, as I no longer have three meals a day.

We are currently having a record heat wave in Arizona 115 today. So it's tough to get out and do things. And I can't travel because of Jan's condition so that puts a serious damper on things.

She had blood work done yesterday and we're seeing the oncologist tomorrow, hopefully her cancer numbers slow down as the last three times they've gone up.

No ‘roids, ever. Was already angry and aggressive. All I needed was to make that worse. I’ve always been pretty anti PED.

Very impressive numbers in this group.  Will be 65 in September,  5'9", 220 lbs, good old farm boy muscle.  Crossfit 4 times a week, walk 2.5 miles before class.  Weekends ride my bikes, mtn and off-road.  Then a 4 to 6 mile hike on Sundays.

I weighed 185 -190lbs from 10th grade to 40 plus and was always pretty ripped. I surfed, ski, wake, dive, mtb and moto sometimes all in a day for too many years. Every step, every breathe was for moto. Gym memberships 30 years. Raced every series for decades. I think the fitness drive started with Mission Bay swim and dive team in middle school with Louganis as coach and racing every weekend and riding every day out my front door after school. 4 years of weightlifting in high school on gym wall 10grade benching over 300, football summer camp, surf camp. Island boat/ski beach life. Wrestling Monster fish, cast nets and dug holes for a living. I was able to ride more than most because i owned multiple business at 20 with my own schedule. Fitness maniac back then. Now farm life. Thought i would die with a six pack and I will but now it will probably be a six pack of Cokes. Now 6'2" 225 prob more. Feel like hell. Been trying to eat healthier again and every time I quit soda the waist disappears really quick. I'm about to start riding again, seems like I stopped riding and the waist grew around covid. I've picked up and sorted an average of 1000 to 3000 pounds of produce every single week for 30 years. Never missed a week and all the farm chores of coarse so not being lazy it's just diet.

Funny.  Growing up I hated arm pump so bad that I believed that carbonated drinks like coke displaced oxygen in your veins and if it wasn't true i didn't want to know, so I only drank milk, water and an occasional Gatorade for about 30 years but mostly just milk in every situation. I had a gallon of milk in my cooler at all times especially at the track in 100°+. Minimal salt either for years. Started eating junk when I was diagnosed with a weird food allergy later in life.

A few of my friends who I couldn't get to work out growing up jog by all the time and I'm like oh I see now it's trendy.

I'm 12 with 27 years of experience. 6ft 1in 214lbs 13% according to the "in body" scale at my gym. Honestly I think it's off a few % in my favor. Probably more like 16% is my guess.

I was 240 a year ago. Lost over 30 pounds of fat and added muscle. Fyi 1 pound of muscle comes with 3-4 pounds of water weight from my findings. I keep getting injured or having other physical setbacks. I should be in much better shape, but haven't been able to train with enough intensity. By November I should be able to hit it hard again.

62 years old  5’9”.  185 pounds.  My magic scale says 23% body fat.
I’ve had a desk job for the last 1 1/2  years.  I think it’s time to get off my ass and find the time to start working out again.

Thanks, I've been playing catch-up on the motogp viewing. Thanks to TXdirt. Smile

That's why I've been staying away from the thread as I don't want any spoilers.

The race I need to watch next is the Red Bull Ring.

Been a interesting season for sure. Can't believe the way they screwed Martin out of the Factory Ducati ride. He was my favorite for the title before the season started, dude can ride the wheels off that bike!

But yeah, Marquez brings a lot of prestige and $$ with him.

Pretty big gamble to roll the dice with the Aprilla ride. Guess I can't blame him. He's leading the Championship and he just wanted to give the big FU to the Ducati! Woohoo

Those were always on the menu when I worked out and really like the EAS myoplex deluxe stuff . One time I got flyer in the mail for some DHEA . Let's just say what ever they mixed in the mixer before the "DHEA" was not cleaned out or even emptied first LoL . I never experienced gains that fast before or after those 2 months .

After my 3rd back surgery in ‘22 I asked my surgeon about the root cause. His response?  Your genetics are not good…

5’9”, hovering between 140 and 155 since my navy days (we had just converted from sail to steam). BMI was lower at 30 than 60 but remains <20%. These days anything below ~15% is difficult to sustain although I feel great for a week or two before the energy deprivation and headaches kick in. Unless gifted genetically it’s challenging and often counterproductive to strive for single digit BMI over age 50.

Fortunately my blood work is almost perfect.  This is also due to genetics plus never having a truly crappy diet. Except for beer. Glorious, glorious beer…

I’m 43, 6’1”…currently 190 lbs.  This is the heaviest I’ve ever been…I gained 10 lbs over the winter due to injury (it’s all sitting around my waste) and not being able to do anything…I’m usually about 180…but I haven’t been able to get rid of that extra 10 so far this summer, which is frustrating.  I’ve been mountain biking 2-3 days a week, running 1-2 days.

most people look at me and would guess I weigh 165-170 though.

Yeah when I was your age I plumped up to 245#'s after getting married and a well paying job. My frame could actually hold that weight without looking "fat", but I felt like shit. My back was terrible and I had all kinds of aches and ailments that I just accepted were the result of a life of motocross.

Thankfully I found cycling around 30 years old. I'm now 6'4" and 215#'s at 50 years old and I still feel great. The aches and pains went away once I got myself back in shape and reasonably cleaned up my diet.

I'm above the 95th percentile in weight, but above the 99th percentile in height so I count that as being a win........!

43-44 years old was my tipping point when I noticed a decrease in energy and other stuff. I was 5ft 10 inch and 170 lbs and was jogging every day. Excellent health heart wise, could hold my breath under water for a long time and swim like a fish.

But stress got to me in too many forms...work, fathers decline in health, kid serving in Afghanistan/Iraq and most of all an unhappy wife going through menopause. And as i had done my whole life, I eat when i am stressed. Too tired all the time to keep up with my jogging I quickly put on weight and then when I did try to jog even after only putting on 10-15 lbs, my feet and knees hurt. I tried picking bicycling back up again as that is how i lost a bunch of weight and got fit when i was 30 years old but I just wasn't in the mood and continued to slowly pack on pounds. 9-10 years later and i haven't have been able to get myself back out of this hole i have dug for myself. (I added a lot more weight then that initial 10-15lbs)

I know, I know,... quit whining, get to work, you know what you have to do, self discipline, blah blah blah. Unsure

So just a message to the young guys out there to really pay attention as you get into your 40's to maintain your weight, watch what you put in your body and manage your stress because the older you get the harder it seems to lose that weight.

I have been between 280 and 300 for 20 years.

Recently shot up to 320 after knee replacement.

Back down to 302 yesterday. Trying to keep going the right way

Feel like 220 would be about right.

Between bad knees and torn rotator cuff it has been hard to find activities to exercise.

Usually I am pretty done energy wise after doing all the tasks involved in my life.

And now yesterday, I completely ran out of steam. By afternoon I felt like I had been hit by a bus.

Tested positive for COVID.

As of this morning about a dozen family, staff, and kids at this week's horse camp have all tested positive.

Maybe my sense of taste will go for awhile.

That sux.

I had Covid for the first time last September. I was totally run down for 3 days laying in bed with 100 degree temperature before the fever broke. But man! It took a good 3 weeks before i felt like i was mostly not dragging my ass with no energy and really 4 weeks before i felt like myself. I've never been sick feeling for so long in my life. Only good thing was I lost 7 lbs.

I never had any problems at the time with taste/smell and I don't know if its related but around Thanksgiving my nose became sensitive to soap products. Clothes soap being the worst but also hand soap and shampoo. Has a flowery/chemical smell. Very strong when i am sliding on socks. Its like the scent gets released. Its never gone away but has lessened quite a bit. Weird

I feel and see that…getting old sucks.

i blame most of my issues on diet though…I’ve always been able to eat whatever I want and thanks to a good metabolism and an active lifestyle, never had to worry about gaining weight…that isn’t the case any more, and making diet changes is brutally hard (when most of my favorite foods aren’t even close to healthy).  If I cleaned up my diet, I’m certain I’d lose the weight…

I'm 62 y/o, currently sitting at 6' 2" and 180 (+/- a few lbs.). Back in Jan. 2024, I was 225lbs. Lost close to 50 lbs. due to throat cancer. It's been a struggle to put the weight back on. It was impossible for me to eat once I started radiation and chemo treatments. I had to have a GI (aka feeding) tube put in for sustenance. It sux not being able to eat or drink normally. I'd like to be about 190-195 range. I'm on my way back, but it is a slow process. Last two follow-ups have come back negative, so hopefully can get the weight back on.

39 years old. 6'1". 194lbs. No idea on body fat.

Through the entirety of my 20s and up until about 33 years old I was hovering around 250lbs. Got my ass in shape to ride and race again. Lowest weight I dropped to was about 180, but it was very uncomfortable at that point. Always hungry and weak.

I'd like to comfortably be at 185. When I start dipping below 190, I just really start hating life lol....But it's not like I'm shredded so I know I can get there with the right balance/diet.
