Rumor is Club is going after him.. IMO he'd be better off staying privateer on Kawi and wait for the inevitable PC injury to surface and take that spot again..

If he wasn't already on a Kawi he likely doesn't get the fill in ride this year.. Just a thought. And the Club 250 program seems to have gone down hill the last few years, especially bike reliability.

No, the team is doing an incredible job and reliability has gone up. They rebuild each race in house. They have had shit happen just like husky, triumph have. Club would be a great choice that allows flexibility between both 250/450 like Marchbanks and has excellent resources.

Tell that to Phil in 250 sx and Mark and Reynolds(could be someone else) who’s bike wouldn’t fire after the restart at southwick.   I think garret had at least one DNF due to a bike issue as well.

Garrett ran out of gas, and after the red flag they left the electric fans on the 250's and drained the batteries. Not catastrophic failures.

There’s less of a chance of him moving from club to star on a fill in ride then staying at hbi and getting a fill in with PC when there’s an injury.

and leaving the fans on and not being able to get the bikes started isn’t a great look at all. Should have been able to jump start them still. That’s a poor excuse to miss a moto. Running out of gas in a SX is nearly unheard of as well and just seems like poor planning.

Garrett ran out of fuel outdoors not SX. Phil's was a mechanical at a SX race. I remember him ranting about it on Pulp but can't remember specifically what it was. He did say he got called into the office about it. Keep in mind, Jeremy Martin's been hurt most of the time and has barely raced.

Shimoda and Ty have been Mitch’s best signings in recent years. Shields was signed after a tryout between him and Mumford, and Ty is a fill in. His track record of signing riders outside of those two lately has been piss poor.

100% agree. Signing Marchbanks in the middle of the SX season is another head-scratching signing. Like why would you sign him up so early, i doubt there was a line of factory teams outside his door waiting to sign him to a factory 250 deal?

Transmission on Phil’s bike. I swear garret had a mechanical in SX too but I might be misremembering.

I'm guessing that Mitch will give Ty a ride for next year. He would be crazy to let Ty go elsewhere.

It is completely unacceptable to be a professional team and have those kind of issues.

You have a switch for the fan so it does not drain the battery, and you do not forget to turn it off.

If you forgot the switch (or for some reason dont have one). You have a jumpstarter available for cases like this, it literally takes 10 seconds to remove the seat and access the battery and get the bike going.

I agree.

Having said that, they probably agree too and have made a fix, that's what good teams do.

It's unacceptable for dungey to have a fuel dnf with a 25 second lead, or his bike not firing up for the second moto a southwick, but sometimes things happen.

If club's bikes are so good why is Marchbanks leaving for PC?

The club bikes being ‘so good’ is an old narrative I think. They were viewed that way because the Yamaha was ahead of other 250’s power at the time that there bikes were thought be very good.

ClubMX is a bigger operation than you guys think. Give them time and they'll get better. Hoping they can land a top-tier rider down the road.

signing up your kid, ham maker and mcadoo year after year is the definition of insanity. Doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.

And again, Mitch doesn't make the personnel decisions, KMC does.  They have the final say since the paychecks to the riders are from KMC.

I think kawi gives Mitch a budget and he gets to decide who to hire. I really doubt KMC is making the final call.  I do t think Mitch would run the team if he didn’t get to make the choice.

Seth had a win in 2021 during the residency year.

Also, the guy saying Mitch doesn’t get to decide is talking out his ass.

Really, because I have had the contract negotiations and my negotiations were always with Dan, not Mitch.  I never said Mitch doesn't have a say, I said the final approval is from KMC because they pay the contract.

ML512 can back this up for me.

That’s changed then, because it never used to be that way.

But my experience with this is about 20 years ago now.

He's the fastest guy they have indoors.

If I was running a team I wouldn't give up on him.

Forkner has speed. Macdoo has heart, I would keep both of them. They have a solid team, it's just 3/4 of them are hurt right now.

Right now? 3/4 of them are always hurt, every season for significant stretches
