Did swoll crash or did his bike let go again at Red Bud? Did Savatgy also have bike problems yesterday as it looked like he was rolling around getting lapped.
rc..said sprocket teeth broke off...and it wasnt a triumph manufactured part...
I think he was referring to the Southwick DNF, not Red Bud
All these mechanicals never seem to be triumphs fault. It was a chain issue at southwick… that could happen to anyone. It was an electrical at hangtown… nothing to do with the bike. It was a sprocket at redbud… not made by triumph. At one point will they take responsibility for the bike they put out there. I’m guessing only when they do good.
Why didn’t Savatgy race the 2nd moto? Was he injured? I don’t remember them mentioning it on the broadcast.

Yeah he crashed in the first Moto and banged himself up a bit.
Good to know about Savatgy. Any idea what happened to Swoll? Crash or another bike issue?
Savatgy has been underwhelming up to this point.
Way to spin that:
"Our bike is so powerful, it shears sprocket teeth !!"
He’s the same speed now as when he rode a 250 for Mitch, all the other kids are just faster now.
I expect mechanicals on a first year 250, even with testing time.
For real. Maybe my expectations were too high. I've always been very high on Savatgy's mx prowess. Not everyone can drop back down a class and kill it. He's racing a bunch of young savages
I do too, it's not surprising but it sucks for Swoll if that's two races in a row. What is surprising though is how people love to bash Beta for their problems after getting some top 10's and being a fraction of the size of Triumph.
2nd moto you could see Swoll getting checked by the Alpinestar crew on the corner after Larocco's leap with like 3 laps to go on TV.
Be careful or his dad may come on here lol. Hope these poor results finally make him shut up about getting the 250 rule change in sx. He would get smoked there just like he is in mx
Clearly off topic but eligibility should be across the board. If the rule changes then it changes. It's odd that a rule can change and benefit one rider to keep their eligibility but that same rule doesn't apply to another rider who never hit the current limit previously.
What did Swoll post to social media that Steve and JT were critical about in the review pod?
Triumph 2nd and 7the this past weekend in MX2
If he crashed as a result of the electrical issue that's a bummer, but he reports below they had an electrical issue at Red Bud. If I'm Swoll and Savatgy I'm pretty nervous riding that bike right now after the string of issues:
Pit Row
His IG post above says "Edited" so maybe he had posted some harsher words about the electrical problem and then changed it? Not sure, but at least now I know it was another bike problem for Triumph and not a mistake by Swoll.
That was the issue at Southwick. See above for the bike issue at Red Bud.
They said ecu issues. The review show made mention of a possible new ecu manufacturer for triumph soon.
Aren't they running motec?
Teeth coming off a sprocket and chain problems may be aftermarket or not Triumph parts but very seldom do see that kind of problem even on the privateers bikes. Triumph decided what parts to source and decided they were up to their standards. They failed. Doesn't look good.
It’s strange, the bikes have been solid in the GP’s. Does anyone know the differences between the AMA & GP bikes, as in spec wise?
That makes me worry for every regular customer who's bought one.
From what I have been told which who knows if its accurate but apparently the GP Triumph and the Bikes in the Nationals are very similar. I don't think they are even running different frames as of yet in MX2. Just working out the kinks on ECUs which is understandable being new to the MX2 and Nationals. Hopefully Lewis can clarify this or correct me.
I think this is a team that will be a force in the sport very soon. Too many good people involved and a professional company
They are using Renthal sprockets . So I doubt that its a problem with the brand they chose . It is so unusual , I wonder if the cause of the teeth breaking off was something to do with the ECU? Since it has been the most common thing they have had trouble with. I can not remember ever seeing sprockets with missing teeth on any Pro level MX bike ever before. I might just not remember it. Its defiantly not a common problem for Renthal users that are keeping them fresh like a top Pro .
Its a first year bike in a new segment for the manufacturer in a class known for being difficult to make a fast and reliable bike .And a new team , even though its guys that have done it before. Every bike has its own things that go wrong.
Overall its not too bad. Remember Cannondale ? That was bad..............
Do they use Get ecus at GPs?
Pretty sure the ECU’s the team is using is a completely different manufacturer than what comes on a production unit.
So why would you be worried about the people who bought one ?
